Spoleto (, also US: , UK: , Italian: [spoˈleːto]; Latin: Spoletum) is an ancient city in the Italian province of Perugia in east-central Umbria on a foothill of the Apennines. It is 20 km (12 mi) S. of Trevi, 29 km (18 mi) N. of Terni, 63 km (39 mi) SE of Perugia; 212 km (132 mi) SE of Florence; and 126 km (78 mi) N of Rome.

San Sabino is a Romanesque-style, Roman Catholic rural parish church located on vicolo San Sabino #22, east of SS685 and north of the historic center of Spoleto, region of Umbria, Italy.

Castel San Giovanni is a frazione of the comune of Castel Ritaldi in the Province of Perugia, Umbria, central Italy. Founded as a castle by Cardinal Gil de Albornoz in 1376, it stands at an elevation of 225 metres above sea level. At the time of the Istat census of 2001 it had 259 inhabitants.

Teodelapio is the only monumental stabile sculpture in Italy by Alexander Calder. Situated in Spoleto it was designed and donated to the city for the 1962 edition of Festival dei Due Mondi. It was part of the open-air exhibition "Sculture in Città" (Sculptures in the city) organized by Giovanni Carandente. The sculptor had a long correspondence with Carandente about how to make it and where to place it. Starting from the idea of realizing a mobile, Calder chose to build a stabile. The sculpture is made of black painted steel and takes its name from that of a lombard king. Located in front of Spoleto's train station, it has become a symbol of the city. The model was sent to the Italsider factory in Savona where it was magnified 27 times and built in 1 cm-thick steel used for hulls, then brought to Spoleto where it was assembled and welded together. Carandente about the origin of the name of the sculpture: At the Hotel dei Duchi in Spoleto, Calder found some copies of old prints depicting Lombard dukes. Looking at the pictures of duke Theodelap with his sharp-pointed crown, Calder said without hesitation: "This is the name of the object"

Torre Grosso is a frazione of the comune of Castel Ritaldi in the Province of Perugia, Umbria, central Italy. It stands at an elevation of 319 metres above sea level. At the time of the Istat census of 2001 it had 85 inhabitants.

The Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of the Two Worlds) is an annual summer music and opera festival held each June to early July in Spoleto, Italy, since its founding by composer Gian Carlo Menotti in 1958. It features a vast array of concerts, opera, dance, drama, visual arts and roundtable discussions on science. The "Two Worlds" in the name of the festival comes from Gian Carlo Menotti's intention to have the worlds of American and European culture facing each other in his event; this concept would then be strengthened by the fact that it was held in conjunction with its "twin", the Spoleto Festival USA held annually in May/June in Charleston, South Carolina. That twinning lasted some 15 years and, after growing disputes between the Menotti family and the board of Spoleto Festival USA, in the early 1990s a separation occurred. Under Menotti's direction in 1986, a third installment in the Spoleto Festival series was held in Melbourne, Australia. Melbourne's Spoleto Festival changed its name to the Melbourne International Festival of the Arts in 1990. Following Menotti's death in 2007, changes occurred in the administration with the result that the Italian Minister of Cultural Affairs appointed a new Artistic Administrator who continues to run the Festival.

The Duchy of Spoleto (Italian: Ducato di Spoleto, Latin: Ducatus Spolitanorum) was a Lombard territory founded about 570 in central Italy by the Lombard dux Faroald. Its capital was the city of Spoleto.

The Archdiocese of Spoleto-Norcia (Latin: Archidioecesis Spoletana-Nursina) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or archdiocese of the Catholic Church in Italy. Historically, it was the Diocese of Spoleto. Elevated to the status of an archdiocese since 1821, it is a non-metropolitan see and is immediately exempt to the Holy See.

Trasimène [tʁa.si.mɛn] was a department of the First French Empire from 1809 to 1814 in present-day Italy. It was named after Lake Trasimeno. It was formed on 15 July 1809, when the Papal States were annexed by France. Its capital was Spoleto. The department was disbanded after the defeat of Napoleon in 1814. At the Congress of Vienna, the Papal States were restored to Pius VII. Its territory is now divided between the Italian provinces of Perugia, Terni, Macerata and Viterbo.

San Salvatore is a romanesque-style, former basilica church located in the center of Spoleto, Province of Perugia, region of Umbria, Italy. The Lombards’ renovation of the church dates back to the eighth century and it is testimony to the architectural style of the Longobardia Minor, “marking the transition from Antiquity to the European Middle Ages”.In 2011 was declared a UNESCO world heritage property as part of the series of sites known as “Longobards in Italy. Places of the power (568-774 A.C.)”, which comprises seven sites throughout Italy characterized by lombard elements of architecture, painting, sculpture and art. Beside the nearby Clitunno Tempietto (PG), the other five sites are: the castrum with the Torba Tower and the church outside the walls Santa Maria foris portas (VA), the monumental area with the monastic complex of San Salvatore-Santa Giulia (BS), the Gastaldaga area and the Episcopal complex (UD), the Santa Sofia complex (BN) and the Sanctuary of San Michele (FG). San Salvatore is located in the monumental cemetery of Spoleto, upon Ciciano hill, outside the medieval town walls. The cemetery was designed in 1836 by the architect Ireneo Aleandri.
