The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) is a stock exchange based in the city of Shanghai, China. It is one of the three stock exchanges operating independently in mainland China, the others being the Beijing Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. The Shanghai Stock Exchange is the world's 3rd largest stock market by market capitalization at US$7.62 trillion as of July 2021. It is also Asia's biggest stock exchange. Unlike the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the Shanghai Stock Exchange is still not entirely open to foreign investors and often affected by the decisions of the central government, due to capital account controls exercised by the Chinese mainland authorities.In 1891, Shanghai founded China's first exchange system. The current stock exchange was re-established on November 26, 1990, and was in operation on December 19 of the same year. It is a non-profit organization directly administered by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC).

South Pudong Road (Chinese: 浦东南路) is a station that is part of Line 14 of the Shanghai Metro. Located at the intersection of South Pudong Road and Pudong Avenue in Pudong, the station opened with the rest of Line 14 on December 30, 2021.

Shanghai Securities Exchange Building is a 26 floor tower in the Pudong area of Shanghai, China and home to the Shanghai Stock Exchange. It was designed by WZMH Architects of Toronto and was completed in 1997. The tower reaches a height of 109 m (358 ft), while the flagpole atop the building adds another 70 m. Prior to 1997 the stock market was located at old Astor House Hotel (Shanghai) from 1990 to 1997 and had been home to the original market from 1920 to 1949.

Shangcheng Road (Chinese: 商城路; pinyin: Shāngchéng Lù) is a station on Shanghai Metro Line 9. It began operation on December 31, 2009. It is located at the intersection of South Pudong Road and Shangcheng Road.

Dongchang Road (simplified Chinese: 东昌路; traditional Chinese: 東昌路; pinyin: Dōngchāng Lù) is a station on Shanghai Metro Line 2. It is part of the initial Zhongshan Park to Longyang Road section of Line 2 that opened on 20 September 1999.

Pudong International Information Port (Chinese: 浦东国际信息港) is a steel skyscraper in the Lujiazui financial district of Shanghai, China. It stands at 211 metres tall with 41 floors above ground and 4 floors of basement. The high-rise covers a total surface area of 103,442 m². The commercial smart building was finished in 2001. Currently, it is used for office, communication, conference, parking garage and dining purposes.

Pudong (浦东) is a district of Shanghai located east of the Huangpu River across from the historic city center of Shanghai in Puxi. The name refers to its historic position as "The East Bank" of the Huangpu River, which flows through central Shanghai, although it is now administered as the Pudong New Area, a state-level new area which extends all the way to the East China Sea. The traditional area of Pudong is now home to the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone and the Shanghai Stock Exchange and many of Shanghai's best-known buildings, such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Jin Mao Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and the Shanghai Tower. These modern skyscrapers directly face Puxi's historic Bund, a remnant of former foreign concessions in China. The rest of the new area includes the Port of Shanghai, the Shanghai Expo and Century Park, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, the Jiuduansha Wetland Nature Reserve, Nanhui New City, and the Shanghai Disney Resort.

Pudong Avenue (simplified Chinese: 浦东大道; traditional Chinese: 浦東大道; pinyin: Pǔdōng Dàdào) is the name of a station on Line 4 and Line 14 of the Shanghai Metro. It is the first station on Line 4 in Pudong travelling clockwise after crossing the Huangpu River from Puxi. Service began at this station on 31 December 2005. It later became an interchange station on December 30, 2021 after the opening of Line 14.

The World Finance Tower (Chinese: 世界金融大厦) is a 43 floor tower in the Pudong area of Shanghai and was completed in 2000. It was designed by architects Leigh & Orange.

The International Ocean Shipping Building (Chinese: 国际航运金融大厦) is a 50-floor 232 meter (762 foot) tall skyscraper completed in 2000 located in Shanghai, China. Part of the building is occupied by the Novotel Atlantis Pudong Shanghai hotel, with 303 guest rooms. The 50th floor is home to a revolving restaurant.

The Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC; Chinese: 上海环球金融中心; pinyin: Shànghǎi Huánqiú Jīnróng Zhōngxīn, Shanghainese: Zånhae Guejieu Cinyon Tsonsin) is a supertall skyscraper located in the Pudong district of Shanghai. It was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by the Mori Building Company, with Leslie E. Robertson Associates as its structural engineer and China State Construction Engineering Corp and Shanghai Construction (Group) General Co. as its main contractor. It is a mixed-use skyscraper, consisting of offices, hotels, conference rooms, observation decks, ground-floor shopping malls. Park Hyatt Shanghai is the tower's hotel component, comprising 174 rooms and suites occupying the 79th to the 93rd floors, which at the time of completion was the highest hotel in the world. It is now the third-highest hotel in the world after the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, which occupies floors 102 to 118 of the International Commerce Centre. On 14 September 2007, the skyscraper was topped out at 492 meters (1,614.2 ft), making it the 2nd tallest building in the world on completion (the tallest at the time being Taipei 101), the tallest building in the world by roof height only, and the tallest in China. The SWFC opened to the public on 28 August 2008, with its observation deck opening on 30 August. The observation deck offers views from 474 m (1,555 ft) above ground level. The SWFC has been lauded for its design, and in 2008 it was named by architects as the year's best-completed skyscraper. In 2013, the SWFC was exceeded in height by the adjacent Shanghai Tower, which is China's tallest structure as of 2023. Together, The Shanghai World Financial Center, The Shanghai Tower and The Jin Mao Tower form the world's first adjacent grouping of three supertall skyscrapers.

Lujiazui (simplified Chinese: 陆家嘴; traditional Chinese: 陸家嘴; pinyin: Lùjiāzuǐ) is a station on Line 2 and 14 of the Shanghai Metro rapid transit system, situated in the middle of the financial district of Lujiazui. This station is the first stop in Pudong going east towards Pudong International Airport, and is part of the initial section of Line 2 that opened from Zhongshan Park to Longyang Road that opened on 20 September 1999. The station later became an interchange on December 30, 2021 after the opening of Line 14. Being at the centre of Lujiazui, the station is of significance to the area.
