Zoológico station

Caricuao is a Caracas Metro station on Line 2. It was opened on 4 October 1987 as part of the inaugural section of Line 2 from La Paz to Las Adjuntas and Zoológico, on the branch leading to Zoológico. The station is between Mamera and Zoológico. The station is located in the district of Caricuao, hence the name.

Caricuao (Spanish pronunciation: [kaɾiˈkwao]) is a district of Caracas, Venezuela. It is part of Libertador municipality. It is named after a powerful indigenous chief of the Caracas tribe, who fought bravely against the Spaniard Conquistadores; he and Tiuna chief were the first indigenous leaders to set up "armies" on their tribes to organize the battles against their enemies, the Spanish, to which they inflicted great losses as the native indigenous tribes were fighting the Spanish settlement. Caricuao is known as the second vegetal reserve of Caracas. The most important public zoo of the capital, the Parque Zoológico Caricuao, is located there. Since its foundation in 1961 it has had a strong cultural movement especially in the music, the first rocksteady, reggae and ska bands of Venezuela were born in this neighborhood, for this it is also known as "The Independent Republic of Reggae and Ska". From Caricuao broadcasts "Radio Perola", one of the most emblematic independent community radio stations in the nation. Since it is a large neighborhood, it is possible to get there on several Caracas Metro stations on Line 2 (the green one) such as Caricuao, Ruiz Pineda, and Zoológico. A new subway line opened in October 2006 to connect Las Adjuntas, a neighboring suburb, and Caracas to Los Teques, capital city of Miranda State and an important pole of development.

La Rinconada Baseball Stadium (Spanish: Estadio de Béisbol de La Rinconada) also known as Monumental Stadium of Caracas Simón Bolívar (Estadio Monumental de Caracas Simón Bolívar) is a modern baseball stadium in the city of Caracas, specifically in the sector of La Rinconada next to the Poliedro de Caracas, the Rinconada Racetrack and the future Venezuelan National Football Stadium in the so-called "Hugo Chávez " Park in the Coche parish, south of the Libertador municipality and the Capital District and west of the metropolitan area of Caracas in Venezuela. The stadium, with a seating capacity of 40,000 spectators, is the second largest in Latin America, after the Estadio Latinoamericano in Havana, Cuba The new stadium, designed by Gensler, meets the highest world standards of its kind, and arises from the need to receive a larger number of spectators than the traditional University Stadium of the Central University of Venezuela (Estadio Universitario), which cannot be enlarged because it is part of the campus of the University City of Caracas, an architectural complex that was declared a World Heritage Site in 2000 by UNESCOInaugurated on February 02, 2023, by the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, with the first meetings related to the 2023 Caribbean Series, in which the record of attendance at a championship game is broken with 35,691 fans during the meeting between Venezuela and Panama.

Antímano is a Caracas Metro station on Line 2. It was opened on 4 October 1987 as part of the inaugural section of Line 2 from La Paz to Las Adjuntas and Zoológico. The station is between Carapita and Mamera.

Antímano is a district of Caracas, Venezuela. It is part of Libertador municipality. According to a 2007 estimate of the National Institute of Statistics of Venezuela, it had a population of 150,971 people in 2007. The name Antímano derives from a combination of the words Atamanona and Amatima, the names of two indigenous groups which lived in the area before the Spanish Conquest. Antímano was established in 1621 as an agricultural village, and remained rural until the first part of the twentieth century. Towards the end of the nineteenth century the Venezuelan President Antonio Guzmán Blanco built a country house in Antímano, calling it "La Pequeña Versalles" (Little Versailles). From the mid-1940s Antímano began to develop as an industrial zone, with the first factories producing Polar beer and Pepsi. The steel company Sidetur was founded here in 1948. The house of Guzman Blanco fell into disuse for over 30 years (despite being declared a National Monument) and was eventually restored in 2004, the building being turned into a Sociocultural Complex, and its grounds converted into a sports facility with baseball, football and basketball fields.Since it is a large neighborhood, it is possible to get there on a number of Caracas Metro stations on Line 2 (the green one) including Antímano, Carapita, and Mamera.

The Poliedro de Caracas ("Caracas Polyhedron Arena") is an indoor sports arena, located on the grounds adjacent to Hipodromo La Rinconada, in Caracas, Venezuela. It was designed by architect Thomas C. Howard of Synergetics, Inc., in Raleigh, NC, in 1971. However, the geodesic dome was not concluded, until 1974, when US firm Charter Industries, along with Synergetics, Inc. designed and manufactured the geodesic dome in Raleigh, NC. It is housed beneath a geodesic dome, with a capacity of 20,000 people for concerts and 13,500 people for sporting events. The arena is used for concerts, sporting events such as basketball, volleyball, boxing, ice skating shows, and for circuses, and trade expositions, like auto shows, and expomuebles (furniture). Lately, it has also been used for government-sponsored political events. American Pop-star Michael Jackson was to perform a concert on 12 November 1993 but was cancelled due to his health problems. Caracas Libertador Simón Bolívar railway station is found in the southern part of Caracas, Venezuela, in an area known as La Rinconada.

La Rinconada is a Caracas Metro station on Line 3. It is the southern terminus of the line. It was opened on 15 October 2006 as part of the extension of Line 3 from El Valle to La Rinconada, but the intermediate stations were only opened on 9 January 2010. The adjacent station is Mercado.
