Leap-The-Dips is a wooden roller coaster which is located at Lakemont Park near Altoona, Pennsylvania. Built in 1902 by the Federal Construction Company and designed by E. Joy Morris, it is the oldest operating roller coaster in the world and believed to be the last surviving side friction roller coaster of the figure-eight variety. Leap-the-Dips operated continuously until 1985, when it closed after falling into disrepair. A fund-raising campaign led to its restoration, with refurbishment efforts beginning in 1997 and ending with a grand-reopening in 1999. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1996 and received the Coaster Classic and Coaster Landmark awards from American Coaster Enthusiasts.

Lakemont Park is an amusement park located in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It houses the world's oldest-surviving roller coaster, the Leap-The-Dips. On June 19, 1996, the roller coaster was added to the list of National Historic Landmarks by the National Park Service. The park opened in 1894 as a trolley park and became an amusement park in summer 1899. It is one of only thirteen trolley parks still operating, and the 8th-oldest amusement park in the United States. The park was owned by the Boyer Candy Company from May 23, 1986, until July 1, 1988, when it was called Boyertown USA. The park was closed from 2017 to 2018, but re-opened in summer 2019. The park is located next to Peoples Natural Gas Field, home of the Altoona Curve Minor League Baseball team. Lakemont Park is also known for its 51-acre drive-through holiday light display, Holiday Lights on the Lake.

Skyliner is a wooden roller coaster located at Lakemont Park in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It first opened in 1960 at New York's Roseland Park, and was John C. Allen's first full-size coaster design. Roseland closed in 1985, and following the success Knoebels had in relocating wooden coaster Phoenix, Lakemont quickly followed suit, and the Skyliner reopened at its new home in 1987. The Skyliner operates a single train, with three cars, which have room for up to 18 adults. The ride's train uses Buzz bars. The Skyliner's train is painted with the Minor League baseball team Altoona Curve's team logo and colors. The phrase "GO CURVE" is also on the train. The Altoona Curve's baseball stadium is adjacent to Lakemont Park, with right field situated up against Skyliner. It is an ACE Coaster Classic.

Peoples Natural Gas Field is a 7,210-seat baseball-only stadium in Altoona, Pennsylvania, that opened in 1999. It is the home ballpark of the Eastern League's Altoona Curve Minor League Baseball team.

Lakemont is a census-designated place in Allegheny and Logan Townships in Blair County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located to the east of I-99 and is located between Altoona and Hollidaysburg. Lakemont is the location of Lakemont Park, although the address is generally Altoona and part of the "Lakemont" area actually lies within the Altoona city boundaries. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,868 residents.

Altoona Armory is a historic National Guard armory located at Logan Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania. The main armory building was built in 1938, and was an "I"-plan building in the Moderne style. The front section housed administrative functions and the rear was the former two-story stable area for the cavalry unit. Between these sections was the riding hall, which had a round arched roof. It was one of nine armories built in Pennsylvania between 1912 and 1938. Demolished.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Blair County Convention Center is a convention center located just south of Altoona, Pennsylvania. It has two floor levels with the exhibit floor and ballroom on separate levels. Rocco Alianiello is the Executive Director and COO. The facility is near the Interstate 99 and Route 36.

Setsucon is an annual two day anime convention held during January at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The convention's name comes from the Japanese word setsu, meaning "snow". It is organized by the Penn State Anime Organization (PSAO). The convention is family-friendly.

Sci-Fi Valley Con (formerly Sci-Fi in the Valley Con) is an annual three day multi-genre convention held during June at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Logan Valley Mall is a regional shopping mall in Altoona, Pennsylvania, United States. It is currently anchored by JCPenney and Macy's and features over 60 stores and services on two levels.

Llyswen Historic District is a national historic district located at Altoona in Blair County, Pennsylvania, United States. The district includes 166 contributing buildings in a residential area of Altoona. The buildings are primarily single-family dwellings built between 1895 and 1940, and reflect a number of popular architectural styles including Colonial Revival and Queen Anne. Notable non-residential buildings include the Llyswen Methodist Episcopal Church, Ward Avenue United Presbyterian Church, Baker Elementary School and Llyswen Station. Llyswen Station is a historic railway station designed by the Beezer Brothers.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

The Diocese of Altoona–Johnstown (Latin: Dioecesis Altunensis-Johnstoniensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in Pennsylvania. It was established on May 30, 1901, as the Diocese of Altoona. On October 9, 1957, the name was changed to the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. It consists of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Centre, Clinton, Fulton, Huntingdon and Somerset Counties. The diocese also sponsors Proclaim!, a weekly Catholic news show, and a weekly live mass from St. John Gualbert Cathedral in Johnstown. The seat of the bishop is in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. The Diocese of Altoona–Johnstown is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
