The Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is a field laboratory and research facility along Weeks Bay estuary, about 6,000 acres (2,400 ha) in size. It receives freshwater from the Magnolia and Fish Rivers, and drains a 198 square miles (510 km2) watershed into the portion of Mobile Bay via a narrow opening. This sub-estuary of Mobile Bay averages just 4.8 ft (1.5 meters) deep and is fringed with marsh (Spartina, Juncus) and swamp (pine, oak, magnolia, maple, cypress, bayberry, tupelo and others). The reserve lands also include upland and bottomland hardwood forests, freshwater marsh (Typha, Cladium), submerged aquatic vegetation (Ruppia, Vallisneria) and unique bog habitats (Sarracenia, Drosera). Weeks Bay is a critical nursery for shrimp, bay anchovy, blue crab and multitudes of other fish, crustaceans and shellfish that support robust commercial fisheries providing $450 million/year for Alabama. The Weeks Bay Reserve includes over 6,000 acres (2,400 ha) of coastal wetlands and water bottoms that provide rich and diverse habitats for a variety of fish, crustaceans and shellfish, as well as many unique and rare plants. The Weeks Bay estuary, "where rivers meet the sea," is an important site of scientific research on estuarine ecology. The Weeks Bay Interpretive Center offers the public opportunities to learn about coastal habitats through its exhibit, live animals displays and collections of animals and regional plants. Self-guiding nature trails wind through wetlands, marshes, bogs and forests.In 2014, the Reserve joined with other conservancy groups to secure a tract of land which now protects the undeveloped marine forests near the bay. The Weeks Bay Foundation is a fully accredited member of The Land Trust Alliance.

The Brunell House at 12113 Jessamine St. in Magnolia Springs, Alabama, is a house that was built in 1910. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

The Sunnyside Hotel is a historic house in Magnolia Springs, Alabama, U.S.. It was built in 1897 for Christopher McLennan. It was converted into a hotel by the new owner, Mrs William Harding, in 1913. In the 1940s, it was inherited by her sister and brother-in-law, who used it as a private home until the 1980s, when they sold it to new owners. In 1996, it was sold to David Worthington. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since February 20, 1998.It is also included in the Magnolia Springs Historic District, as a contributing building.

Marlow Ferry, located in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States, is the former site of a ferry which crossed Fish River. It is also the location of two important events from the American Civil War and the War of 1812.

Magnolia Springs is a town in south Baldwin County, Alabama, United States, in the Daphne-Fairhope-Foley metropolitan area. The town voted to incorporate in 2006. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 723.

The Magnolia Springs Historic District, in Magnolia Springs, Alabama, is a 163 acres (0.66 km2) historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.A previous district of the same name had existed as an entity of Baldwin County, but it was legally dissolved by the incorporation of Magnolia Springs.The district runs roughly along Oak, Spring, Bay, Jessamine, Magnolia, Pine & Rock Sts., Island, Cedar & Holly Aves. & Magnolia Springs Highway. It includes 70 contributing buildings, a contributing structure, and a contributing site (the spring), as well as 47 non-contributing resources.The district was deemed significant "for its role as a resort community that, in the late 19th and early to mid 20th centuries, served both transient visitors as well as part-time and permanent residents who were predominantly affluent Northerners."Included are: Brunell House, 12113 Jessamine St., separately-NRHP-listed, a vernacular rental cottage with elements of Classical Revival style, including Tuscan columns. Governor's Club, separately-NRHP-listed Moore Brothers General Store (c.1925), 14770 Oak St., separately-NRHP-listed Magnolia Springs Community Hall (1896), Oak Street, across from the Moore Store St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Oak Ave, separately-NRHP-listed Sunnyside Hotel, 14469 Oak St., separately-NRHP-listed

The Governor's Club, located at 11866 Magnolia St. in Magnolia Springs, Alabama, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. It is of "Coastal Cottage" architecture.It stands on property assembled by Chicago businessman Frank Brunell during 1901 to 1908. It has also sometimes been known as "Brunell House," but there is a different house of that name, also NRHP-listed, also in Magnolia Springs, on Jessamine St. In 2015, the house was valued at $4.79 million.Along with Sunnyside Hotel, Governor's Club is one of two resort hotels from the 1920s era of resorts and vacations in the area. "With its spacious wrap-around porch enhanced by turned posts and balusters, floor to ceiling windows, and great interior details, the Governor’s Club stands as an important architectural survivor of Baldwin County’s early 20th century resort years."It is also included in the Magnolia Springs Historic District, as a contributing building.

Barnwell is an unincorporated community in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. It is located along US 98 in the southern part of the county. Some municipal services are provided by Fairhope. Barnwell is designated by the USGS as a populated place that is neither incorporated nor a census-designated place.

Marlow is an unincorporated community in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, also known as St. Paul's Episcopal Chapel, is an historic Carpenter Gothic church located at 14755 Oak Avenue, in Magnolia Springs, Alabama. On September 25, 1988, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Land was donated for the church in the 1890s after devout residents held services in their homes and invited preachers from nearby towns. However, the construction lagged due to insufficient funds before construction began in 1901 and the church was consecrated by Bishop Robert Woodward Barnwell in 1902. The church was nearly destroyed by a hurricane in 1916 and was the only church in Magnolia Springs for nearly fifty years.It is also included in the Magnolia Springs Historic District, as a contributing building.

Clay City is an unincorporated community in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States.

The Street House is a historic cottage in Point Clear, Alabama, U.S.. It was built in 1906 for William Street. The house has remained in the family; by the 1980s, it belonged to H. Vaughn Street III. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 20, 1988.After his home on the Weeks Bay estuary was destroyed by a hurricane in 1906, farmer William Street moved his wife and children to Point Clear and built their house shortly after. William’s sons, Charles and Luther, aided their father in his farming activities until he died shortly after 1906. The family continued to reside on the land and Charles married in the late 1920s. The house was passed down through the generations and, despite being vacant from 1960–85, was renovated in 1984.
