Hokkaido University Museum

The Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art (北海道立近代美術館, Hokkaidō-ritsu Kindai Bijutsukan) opened in Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan in 1977. The collection includes works by Jules Pascin and the École de Paris as well as by modern Japanese artists, in particular those with a connection to Hokkaidō.There are five related prefectural art museums elsewhere in Sapporo and Hokkaidō: Migishi Kōtarō Museum of Art, Hokkaido, Hakodate Museum of Art, Hokkaido, Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art, Hokkaido Obihiro Museum of Art, and Kushiro Art Museum, Hokkaido.

Sapporo Medical University (札幌医科大学, Sapporo ika daigaku) is a public university in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan. The precursor of the school was founded in 1945, and it was chartered as a university in 1950.

The Sapporo Independent Christian Church (Japanese: 札幌独立キリスト教会, Hepburn: Sapporo Dokuritsu Kirisuto Kyōkai, or Sapporo Christian Church) is a church located in Sapporo, Japan. It was founded in 1881 by students of William S. Clark at the Sapporo Agricultural College. These students became known as the "Sapporo band" of Christians. Although Clark had returned to the United States by the time the church was founded, he supported it financially and corresponded with its members through letters. Members of the church include Uchimura Kanzō, who went on to found the non-church movement, and Nitobe Inazō, who became president of the Tokyo Women's Christian College, an under-secretary at the League of Nations, and was the author of Bushido: The Soul of Japan.

Nitori Culture Hall (originally known as Hokkaido Kōsei Nenkin Kaikan) is an arts & concert venue, part of the Sapporo Geibunkan complex, located in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Japan. It opened in 1971 as Hokkaido Kōsei Nenkin Kaikan; the complex includes a conference hall, a hotel and a concert hall. The main concert hall has a seating capacity of 2,300. Since 2010, the furniture company Nitori owns the naming rights of the venue. Notable past performers include Santana, Cheap Trick, Whitesnake, King Crimson and Scorpions.

Sapporo Odori High School (市立札幌大通高等学校, Shiritsu Sapporo Ōdori Kōtōgakkō) is a Japanese public high school in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. Sapporo Odori High School provides Japanese-language classes to foreign and Japanese returnee students, and the school has special admissions quotas for these groups.

Sōen Station (桑園駅, Sōen-eki) is a railway station in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, operated by the Hokkaido Railway Company (JR Hokkaido). The station is numbered S02.

Chūō-ku (中央区, Chūō-ku) is one of the ten wards in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Chūō-ku means "central ward" in Japanese. City administration and entertainment facilities are centred in this ward.

Maruyama-Kōen Station (円山公園駅, Maruyama-kōen-eki) is a Sapporo Municipal Subway station in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. The station is numbered T06. The station takes its name from the Maruyama Park, located 300 m west of the station.

The Hokkaido University Botanical Gardens (北海道大学植物園, Hokkaidō Daigaku Shokubutsuen, 13.3 hectares) are botanical gardens operated by Hokkaido University. They are located at North 3, West 8, Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan, and open daily; an admission fee is charged. The gardens were established in 1886 as part of the Old Sapporo Agricultural College, and are now the second oldest botanical gardens in Japan (after Koishikawa Botanical Garden). Today they form part of the university's School of Agriculture, and contain a small part of the forest formerly covering the Ishikari Plain, plus collections of over 4,000 plant species, including alpine plants, wild plants from Hokkaidō, and the oldest lilac in Sapporo. Serious typhoon damage was sustained in 2004. The gardens also contain early Hokkaidō homes, a tropical greenhouse, and the Natural History Museum (built 1884), which exhibits Ainu artefacts, local archaeological and biological specimens, and the stuffed body of Taro, one of two surviving sled dogs from Japan's 1958 Antarctica mission.

The Hokkaido University poplar avenue is a path lined with poplar trees, situated in the Hokkaido University campus in Sapporo, Japan. It extends from the back of the Psychology Department to the first of Hokkaido University's farms. The avenue is a well-known symbol of the university, and is introduced as one of the three most famous attractions in Sapporo on the Japan National Tourism Organization's website for visitors to Japan.
