El Cerro Tome Site

El Cerro is a census-designated place in Valencia County, New Mexico, United States. Its population was 2,953 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Tome (Spanish: Tomé) is an unincorporated village and census-designated place in Valencia County, New Mexico, United States. It is located in the Rio Grande valley near the foot of Tome Hill (El Cerro Tomé), a notable Catholic pilgrimage site. The village lies along New Mexico State Road 47 and is neighbored by Valencia to the north and Adelino to the south. It is the location of the Valencia Campus of the University of New Mexico. Tome has a post office with ZIP code 87060. The population was 1,867 as of the 2010 census.The community was established when land abandoned by Tomé Domínguez de Mendoza following the Pueblo Revolt was granted to a new group of settlers in 1739. Once an important town on the Camino Real, it suffered due to Native American attacks and flooding during the 1800s. It was the seat of Valencia County from 1852 to 1872, and again briefly in 1875. For census purposes, Tome was previously combined with Adelino in the Tome-Adelino census-designated place (CDP). The CDP was split prior to the 2010 Census.

Tome Jail is a historic jail building in Tome, New Mexico. It is the only surviving part of the former Valencia County Courthouse, built when the county seat was moved from Belen to Tome in 1875. The courthouse was a two-story adobe building which gradually disappeared due to erosion, but the jail had more durable stone walls and remained standing. Construction of the building was probably authorized by Probate Judge Manuel A. Otero, who was the chief county official at the time and whose name appears in a bilingual inscription carved into the stone lintel.The building is 15 feet (4.6 m) wide by 25 feet (7.6 m) deep, with plastered stone walls 4 feet (120 cm) thick. It has small windows on the south and west sides, each with a double set of bars set into a wooden frame on the inside and a sandstone frame on the outside. The interior walls and roof are of rough-cut lumber.

It is part of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area. For the 2010 census, the CDP was split into the census-designated places of Tome and Adelino.

Baca House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Miguel E. Baca House, in Adelino, New Mexico on what is now New Mexico State Road 47, was built in 1895. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The listing included three contributing buildings.Historic function: Domestic; Agriculture/subsistence; Commerce/trade Historic subfunction: Department Store; Processing; Single Dwelling; Animal Facility Criteria: event, architecture/engineering The house was built around 1895 and is 80 by 30 feet (24.4 m × 9.1 m) in plan. It was built with 18 inches (0.46 m) thick adobe walls and a flat roof, and it served as Miguel E. Baca's house and business headquarters. He operated a store, saloon and dancehall on the property or nearby.A hipped roof was added in the 1920s. As of 1978 a concrete foundation had recently been inserted, strengthening the walls.It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Tome, New Mexico.

The Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad Depot in Los Lunas, New Mexico was built in 1879. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.It an Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad station no longer in use, now located on New Mexico State Road 314, which formerly was the routing of U.S. Route 85, about 0.9 miles (1.4 km) south of its intersection with Highway 6. The depot was moved in 1976 to its current location.It is notable as one of the oldest depots in New Mexico, and is the oldest in the state of its standard type used by the A.T. & S.F. throughout the late 1800s.Originally it was 118.5 feet (36.1 m) long. Its freight room was expanded in 1886 and then shortened by 30 feet (9.1 m) in 1942.Signage in 2016 indicates it is currently a Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

Los Lunas is a station on the New Mexico Rail Runner Express commuter rail line, located in Los Lunas, New Mexico, at the intersection of Highway 314 and Courthouse Road. The station began service on December 11, 2006 as the fourth station on the line. Los Lunas Public Transportation has shuttles serving the station. Each of the Rail Runner stations contains an icon to express each community's identity. The icon representing this station is the old Los Lunas train station.The station has free parking, with 190 spaces, with congestion at the parking lot requiring that an extension be built less than a year after the station originally opened. This extension was opened on April 30, 2007. The mayor of the town admitted that more parking was needed although the extension had recently been built; the next phase of expansion involves building 120 new spaces.
