Buck Lake (Ontario)

Frontenac Provincial Park is a provincial park located near the town of Sydenham, north of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. This 5,350-hectare park is classified as a natural environment park, and lies on the Frontenac Axis, a topographic extension of the Canadian Shield connecting to the Adirondack Mountains. It features 22 lakes, over 700 species, and extensive areas of mixed forest, wetlands, and granite outcrops. Located within the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve and the Frontenac Forests Important Bird Area the region is regarded for its biodiversity. It is home to many species of ferns and orchids, some rare. There is also an abundance of fauna, including the American black bear, red fox, mink, northern river otter, white-tailed deer, porcupine, and fisher.

Big Salmon Lake is a lake in Frontenac Provincial Park in eastern Ontario. It lies in the Frontenac Axis and is the largest lake in the park. It is a long, narrow shaped lake, accessible by the main road into the park and by many hiking trails. Despite the name Big Salmon Lake, there are no salmon in the lake. There are no major islands in the lake, but there are a few small ones in the east end of the lake. A notable one of these islands is Devil's Oven, named by homesteaders for a hollowed rock formation resembling an oven.

South Frontenac is a township in Frontenac County in eastern Ontario, Canada. It was amalgamated in 1998 from the former townships of Bedford, Loughborough, Portland, and Storrington. The Holleford crater is located in the township near the community of Holleford.

Perth Road Village is a community in Ontario. It is named for the Perth Road where it is located, which was one of the first roads to connect Kingston, Ontario on Lake Ontario to the then-major inland community of Perth, Ontario. Following the Perth Road, the village is 23 kilometres (14 miles) north of Kingston and 28 kilometres (17 miles) south of Westport, Ontario, which are the two closest major communities.

Loughborough Lake is a lake in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The lake is mostly in the municipality of South Frontenac, Frontenac County, except for the southern tip which is in and on the northern border of the separated city of Kingston, and is about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of the town centre of Kingston. Loughborough Lake is in the Great Lakes Basin, is 24 kilometres (15 mi) long and 18.90 square kilometres (7.30 sq mi) in area, with many small islands, and has 119 kilometres (74 mi) of shoreline.Loon Island in the centre of the lake is privately owned by actor Dan Aykroyd.

Peterson Creek is a river in the Lake Ontario and Cataraqui River drainage basins in South Frontenac, Frontenac County and Rideau Lakes, Leeds and Grenville United Counties in eastern Ontario, Canada. It flows 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) from Upper Peterson Lake to its mouth at Hart Lake.

Salem is a Compact Rural Community and unincorporated place in the municipality of South Frontenac, Frontenac County in southern Ontario, Canada. The community is in geographic Bedford Township, and lies on the county border with the municipality of Rideau Lakes, United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.

Battersea is a community in the Canadian province of Ontario, located in the township of South Frontenac, 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Kingston. Battersea is well known for its fishing and outdoor activities as it is close to Loughborough Lake, Dog Lake and the Rideau Canal Waterway.

Westport/Rideau Lakes Airport (TC LID: CRL2) is located 0.7 nautical miles (1.3 km; 0.81 mi) southeast of Westport, Ontario, Canada. It has a 3,118 foot (950 metres) grass runway, accessible from the Perth Road.

Foley House, located at 45 and 47 Main Street, Westport, Ontario, Canada is of significant historical note because of its connection to Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. Perhaps because of the Foley family acquaintance with several Fathers of Confederation, the Foley family played a prominent commercial role from this home and mercantile situated at the high water point of the Rideau Canal. The Foley House is a grand Victorian era house built in 1867, the year of Canadian Confederation, for Declan Finbar Foley and his wife Mary Ann Buckly. Six generations of Declan Foley's descendants enjoyed the well-built home, made three bricks thick and of the best available materials.

Wolfe Lake is a lake in Ontario, Canada, located in the eastern part of the province in South Frontenac and Rideau Lakes townships. The nearest village is Westport. The shoreline surrounding Wolfe Lake is a mix of cottages, farmland and forest, with both gradual sloping shoreline and steeply pitched grades of rocky outcroppings. There are eight islands within the lake, including Derbyshire, Grape, Turnip, Woods, Horseshoe, Duck, Bateman, and Whitefish. Some species of fish living in Wolfe Lake include both smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, perch, rockbass, sunfish, bluegill, crappies and whitefish. Wildlife is diverse, including black bear, white-tailed deer, eastern coyote, fox, fishers, minks, weasels, raccoons, common loons, great blue herons, bald eagles, ospreys and kingfishers. A local group, The Wolfe Lake (Westport) Association works to maintain the natural environment of Wolfe Lake, Green Lake and their shorelines. There are also road associations that maintain the roads. Camp IAWAH, a summer camp, is also located on Wolfe Lake.

Gould Lake is a lake north of the community of Sydenham in the Township of South Frontenac, Frontenac County, in eastern Ontario, Canada. It is on the Canadian Shield, is part of the Great Lakes Basin, and is part of the headwaters of the Millhaven Creek system. In the 19th century and early-20th century, the area around Gould Lake was noted for its mica mines. Gould Lake drains south through Silvers Lake and Little Long Lake, and then into Eel Bay, an extension of Sydenham Lake. Sydenham Lake in turn drains into Millhaven Creek, which flows to Lake Ontario. Much of the southwest end of the lake is in the Gould Lake Conservation Area, which is under the management of the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority.
