Loughborough Lake

Battersea is a community in the Canadian province of Ontario, located in the township of South Frontenac, 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Kingston. Battersea is well known for its fishing and outdoor activities as it is close to Loughborough Lake, Dog Lake and the Rideau Canal Waterway.

Perth Road Village is a community in Ontario. It is named for the Perth Road where it is located, which was one of the first roads to connect Kingston, Ontario on Lake Ontario to the then-major inland community of Perth, Ontario. Following the Perth Road, the village is 23 kilometres (14 miles) north of Kingston and 28 kilometres (17 miles) south of Westport, Ontario, which are the two closest major communities.

Inverary is a Compact Rural Community and unincorporated place in South Frontenac, Frontenac County in eastern Ontario, Canada. The community was originally called Storrington post office in 1845, for (the now) geographic Storrington Township in which the community lies. It was renamed to Inverary in 1856 by landowner James Campbell after Inveraray, his ancestral home in Scotland, before being officially incorporated in 1860.

Buck Lake is a lake located in South Frontenac, Ontario, Canada. Its inflows are Milk Lake and various rivers and its outflow is the Mississauga Creek through a dam. It has a surface area of 787 hectares (1,940 acres).The lake has an average depth of 11.9 metres (39 ft) but can reach depths up to 40.9 metres (134 ft). It has an approximate shore length of 48.2 kilometres (30.0 mi).

Pittsburgh is a former incorporated and now geographic township in Ontario, Canada. Located within Frontenac County, it was surveyed in 1787–1788 and named for William Pitt the Younger, the British prime minister. It was incorporated on January 1, 1850. The township was amalgamated into the city of Kingston effective January 1, 1998. The community still retains the name "Pittsburgh" within the government of Kingston. Pittsburgh Township is home to Fort Henry, Canadian Forces Base Kingston, the Royal Military College of Canada and the historic community of Barriefield, Ontario. It includes the east side of the UNESCO-listed Rideau Canal at Kingston Mills (site of the Shafia family murders), hosts a handful of motels serving Ontario Highway 15 and former Ontario Highway 2, a federal prison (Pittsburgh and Joyceville Institutions in Joyceville, Ontario) and three museums (Military Communications and Electronics Museum, RMC Museum and MacLachlan Woodworking Museum). Pittsburgh Township, separated from Kingston by the Cataraqui River, is linked to the downtown by the La Salle Causeway. The Waaban Crossing, located between the La Salle Causeway and Highway 401, opened in 2022.

Isle of Man is an island located in Cataraqui River, in Frontenac County, Ontario, Canada. It is actually not an island per se, because it has a land link to the eastern side of the river. It is located northeast of Kingston.

Peterson Creek is a river in the Lake Ontario and Cataraqui River drainage basins in South Frontenac, Frontenac County and Rideau Lakes, Leeds and Grenville United Counties in eastern Ontario, Canada. It flows 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) from Upper Peterson Lake to its mouth at Hart Lake.

Sydenham Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada to the east of the town of Sydenham. The lake drains into Lake Ontario through Millhaven Creek to the west.

Glenburnie is a community in, and the county seat of, Frontenac County, Ontario.

The Shafia family murders took place on June 30, 2009, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Shafia sisters Zainab, 19, Sahar, 17, and Geeti, 13, along with their father's wife Rona Muhammad Omar, 52 (all of Afghan origin), were found dead inside a car that was discovered underwater in front of the northernmost Kingston Mills lock of the Rideau Canal. Zainab, Sahar, and Geeti were daughters of Mohammad Shafia, 58, and his wife, Tooba Mohammad Yahya, 41. The couple also had a son, Hamed, 20, and three other children. Rona, who was herself infertile, was the first wife of Mohammad Shafia in their polygamous household. On July 23, 2009, Mohammad, Tooba Yahya, and Hamed were arrested on charges of four counts of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder under the guise of honour killing. The jury found them guilty of all four counts in January 2012. The trial, which took place at the Frontenac County Court House, was believed to be the first in Canada conducted in four languages – English, French, Dari and Spanish.

Kingston Mills, located approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north of downtown Kingston, Ontario, is the southernmost lockstation and one of 24 lockstations of the Rideau Canal system. Kingston Mills is a component of the Rideau Canal National Historic Site, and along with the rest of the Rideau Canal, is a World Heritage Site. The site is managed and operated by Parks Canada.

CFRC-FM (101.9 MHz) is the non-commercial campus radio station at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The station has one of the longest radio histories in Canada, with experimental broadcasts dating back to 1922 and serves Queen's University students and faculty as well as the greater Kingston community. CFRC-FM is also a member of the National Campus and Community Radio Association. CFRC-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 3,000 watts. The transmitter is on Station Road in Kingston, near the Macdonald-Cartier Freeway (Ontario Highway 401).
