Huber Mansion is one of the historical buildings in Yeniköy, Istanbul, Turkey. Built in the late 19th century, it was used as a private residence until 1930 when it was sold to Notre Dame Sion High School. The mansion was nationalized in 1985 and has been used as the residence of the Presidents of Turkey since then.

Neapolis (Ancient Greek: Νεάπολις), was a coastal town on the European side of the Bosphorus in ancient Thrace. It may also have been called Comarodes.Its site is located near modern Yeni Köy, near Istanbul, Turkey.

Tarabya (Ottoman Turkish: Tarabiye, Greek: Θεραπειά, romanized: Therapiá) is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 17,852 (2022). It is located on the European shoreline of the Bosphorus strait, between the neighbourhoods of Yeniköy and Kireçburnu. It is famous for its coastal fish restaurants. Lycée Français Pierre Loti d'Istanbul and Tarabya British Schools both have high school campuses in Tarabya.

Pharmakia or Therapeia (Ancient Greek: Θεραπειά) was a town of ancient Thrace, inhabited during Roman and Byzantine times.Its site is located near Tarabya in European Turkey.

Yeniköy Synagogue is a synagogue located along the northern part of the Bosphorus in the Yeniköy neighborhood of Istanbul, Turkey. The synagogue, said to have been built by Abraham Salomon Camondo in the late 19th century, has been rejuvenated recently by the renewed presence of Jews who have moved into the area. Only Shabbat prayers are held there.

Yeniköy (Turkish: Yeniköy, "New Village"), known in Greek as Neochorion (Greek: Νεοχώριον), Neochori (Νεοχώρι), or Nichori (Νιχώρι or Νηχώρι), sometimes also referred to as Yeni Kioi, is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 14,963 (2022). It is located on the European shores of the Bosphorus strait, between the neighbourhoods of İstinye and Tarabya.

The Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Istanbul (Chinese: 中华人民共和国驻伊斯坦布尔总领事馆; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó zhù Yīsītǎnbù'ěr Zǒnglǐngshìguǎn, Turkish: Çin Halk Cumhuriyeti İstanbul Başkonsolosluğu) is a diplomatic mission representing China located in Istanbul. Opened in 1985, it serves the city as well as surrounding areas. The consulate has been the site of protests because of the Xinjiang conflict and the Chinese government's treatment of the Uyghurs, with the Uyghur genocide leading to increased protesting. The Chinese government has also alleged that East Turkestan independence movement extremists bombed the consulate in 1998.

İstinye is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 15,721 (2022). It is on the European side of the city. It is located between the neighbourhoods of Emirgan and Yeniköy, on the northwestern shore of the Bosporus strait. It is one of the finest seashore locations on the Bosporus where people walk around during the weekends. İstinye is famous for its cafés and seafood restaurants. A small bay is also among the things that make İstinye a preferred location to visit. In classical antiquity it was the site of a town called Lasthenes, which was later renamed as Leosthenion (Greek: Λεωσθένιον), corrupted to Sosthenion (Greek: Σωσθένιον) during the Middle Ages. The village was the site of the Michaelion, a famous church and monastery dedicated to St. Michael in Byzantine times.Since 1995, the headquarters of the Istanbul Stock Exchange is located in İstinye.Additionally, the neighbourhood is in close proximity to one of Istanbul's newest shopping malls, İstinye Park, which was opened in 2007. Istinye Park aims at the high-end consumer group and is mostly dedicated to the world's famous fashion brands.

The Bosporus or Bosphorus Strait ( BOSS-pər-əs, BOSS-fər-əs; Turkish: İstanbul Boğazı, lit. 'Istanbul strait', colloquially Boğaz) is a natural strait and an internationally significant waterway located in Istanbul, Turkey. The Bosporus connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara and forms one of the continental boundaries between Asia and Europe. It also divides Turkey by separating Anatolia from Thrace. It is the world's narrowest strait used for international navigation. Most of the shores of the Bosporus Strait, except for the area to the north, are heavily settled, with the city of Istanbul's metropolitan population of 17 million inhabitants extending inland from both banks. The Bosporus Strait and the Dardanelles Strait at the opposite end of the Sea of Marmara are together known as the Turkish Straits. Sections of the shore of the Bosporus in Istanbul have been reinforced with concrete or rubble and those sections of the Strait prone to deposition are periodically dredged.

Sultan Mahmut Fountain (Turkish: Sultan Mahmut Çeşmesi) is a historical public fountain in Istanbul, Turkey. The fountain is located in Kireçburnu neighborhood of Sarıyer secondary municipality by Bosphorous. It was commissioned by Ottoman sultan Mahmut II (reigned 1808–1839) in 1814. Its ornamental slab as well as the inscription is made of marble. The inscription includes a tughra of the sultan. The inscription was written by Yesarizade Mustafa Izzet Efendi.Presently, the fountain is out of use.

In the morning hours on July 9, 2008, an attack on the Consulate General of the United States, Istanbul resulted in the deaths of the three gunmen and three Turkish National Police officers. The attack occurred at a time when the facility was at full function. It is the responsibility of the host state to take care of security as per Article 22 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
