The Clift Building in Salt Lake City, Utah, is an 8-story commercial office building designed by James L. Chesebro and constructed by the Larsen-Sampson Company in 1919. Chesebro included a theater accessed from the Main Street exposure. The building features a glazed terracotta facade associated with the Second Renaissance Revival style.Virtue (Butcher) Clift (March 20, 1837-October 23, 1925) constructed the Clift Building in honor of her late husband, Francis D. Clift (December 7, 1832-December 21, 1913). The Clifts owned real estate in Salt Lake City, and they had operated a residential hotel, the Clift House, at the future site of the Clift Building.Francis D. Clift was an 1851 pioneer, opening a mercantile business on Main Street and later investing in the Emma Silver Mine.

The Karrick Block in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a 3-story, brick and stone commercial building designed by Richard K.A. Kletting and constructed in 1887. The building is Kletting's earliest work to survive in the city, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Architectural historian Allan D. Roberts described the building as "essentially a Victorian work."During construction the Karrick Block was known as Karrick's White Elephant, a name borrowed from the adjacent White Elephant Saloon, when it was discovered that the saloon overlapped Karrick's property by several inches. Roberts & Nelden pharmacy was an early tenant of the building, and the building housed eight prostitutes.Lewis C. Karrick owned mining and mercantile interests, and he served on the city council in the 1880s. After he lost his fortune to bad investments, his wife, Sarah (Ellerbeck) Karrick, filed for divorce in 1904. Karrick died of a self inflicted gunshot wound in 1905. His son, Lewis C. Karrick, Jr., became a petroleum engineer who developed a mineral extraction technique known as the Karrick process. The Karrick Block was covered in a Utah State information form of 1979.

The Salt Lake Stock and Mining Exchange Building in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a 2-story Classical Revival building designed by John C. Craig and constructed in 1909. The sandstone, brick, and cement building includes four large Ionic columns supporting a pediment above a denticulated cornice, and the pedimental imagery is reflected in lintels above the six central door and window fenestrations. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It is also a contributing resource in the Exchange Place Historic District. The Salt Lake Stock and Mining Exchange Building was constructed on a site donated by Samuel Newhouse in 1908. Newhouse intended to develop a major financial center that would rival other exchanges in larger cities, and some members of the Salt Lake financial community did not support a shift from the 19th century roots of the exchange. During construction of the new exchange building, a competing exchange was organized and operated briefly in the Atlas Block (demolished) under the name, Utah Stock and Mining Exchange. The Salt Lake Stock and Mining Exchange occupied its new building from 1909 until the exchange became defunct in 1986. In 1972 the exchange was renamed the Intermountain Stock Exchange.

The Lollin Block, at 238 S. Main St. in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a three-story brick and stone commercial building designed by Richard K.A. Kletting and constructed in 1894. The building includes a plaster facade "scored to give the appearance of smooth, cut stone," with a denticulated cornice and Classical Revival features. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.Well known as a saloon keeper, John Lollin (January 3, 1840-April 7, 1915) was a Danish immigrant and 1857 pioneer who engaged in several business ventures prior to constructing the Lollin Block. He and Diantha (Mayer) Lollin lived on the third floor of the building from 1894 until Lollin's death in 1915. Diantha Lollin continued to reside in the building until 1934. Their son Carl lived in the building until 1960.The building cost $13,000. The first floor was leased by the Davis Shoe Company during 1901 to 1913, by a Hudson Bay Fur Company store during 1915 to 1965, and by Music City and the G.E.M. Music Store during 1965 to 1979 or later.Mr. Lollin was apparently "adequately impressed" with Kletting's work in the adjoining Karrick Block (1887) at 236 South Main Street to commission this.

Asteroid Landed Softly is a metal and stone sculpture by Kazuo Matsubiyashi, installed in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The artwork measures approximately 30 x 4 x 2 feet. It features a boulder on top of a column which splits into two legs, and functions as a sundial. The artwork was surveyed by the Smithsonian Institution's "Save Outdoor Sculpture!" program in 1993.
