R.O. Stake House

The Guy A. Brown House is a historic two-story house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1874 as a private residence for Guy A. Brown, a Civil War veteran who became Nebraska's State Librarian as well as the clerk and reporter of the Nebraska Supreme Court. The house was designed in the Italianate style, with an American Craftsman porch. It was remodelled as a duplex in 1935. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 5, 1998.

Lincoln is the capital city of the U.S. state of Nebraska and the county seat of Lancaster County. The city covers 99.050 square miles (256.538 km2) with a population of 291,082 in 2020. It is the second-most populous city in Nebraska and the 73rd-largest in the United States. The city is the economic and cultural anchor of a substantially larger metropolitan area in the southeastern part of the state called the Lincoln Metropolitan and Lincoln-Beatrice Combined Statistical Areas. The statistical area is home to 361,921 people, making it the 104th-largest combined statistical area in the United States. The city was founded in 1856 as the village of Lancaster on the wild salt marshes and arroyos of what was to become Lancaster County. Renamed after President Abraham Lincoln, it became Nebraska's state capital in 1869. The Bertram G. Goodhue–designed state capitol building was completed in 1932, and is the second tallest capitol in the United States. As the city is the seat of government for the state of Nebraska, the state and the United States government are major employers. The University of Nebraska was founded in Lincoln in 1869. The university is the largest in Nebraska with 26,079 students enrolled, and is the city's third-largest employer. Other primary employers fall into the service and manufacturing industries, including a growing high-tech sector. The region makes up a part of what is known as the greater Midwest Silicon Prairie. Designated as a "refugee-friendly" city by the U.S. Department of State in the 1970s, the city was the twelfth-largest resettlement site per capita in the United States by 2000. Refugee Vietnamese, Karen (Burmese ethnic minority), Sudanese and Yazidi (Iraqi ethnic minority) people, as well as other refugees from Iraq, the Middle East and Afghanistan, have been resettled in the city. During the 2018–2019 school year, Lincoln Public Schools provided support for approximately 3,000 students from 150 countries, who spoke 125 different languages.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lincoln (Latin: Dioecesis Lincolnensis) is a Catholic diocese in Nebraska, United States, and comprises the majority of the eastern and central portions of the state south of the Platte River. It is a suffragan see to the archdiocese of Omaha. The episcopal see is in Lincoln, Nebraska. Bishop James D. Conley is the current ordinary of the Diocese. The Cathedral of the Risen Christ is the cathedral parish of the diocese.

The Nimrod Ross House is a historic cottage in Lincoln, Nebraska. Probably built by carpenter Henry Brueckner in 1903, it belonged to Nimrod and Ellen Ross from 1904 to 1917. Nimrod Ross was a freedman, who was born a slave in Tennessee in 1863 and became one of the first African-American police officers in Lincoln, Nebraska in the early 1900s. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since June 25, 1999.

The Royer-Williams House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built by Henry Royer in 1887, and designed in the Queen Anne architectural style, with "the hood-moldings of the windows, the prominent square bay window of the south facade complete with Victorian trim and brackets, and the varied imbrication on the second floor of the tower and on the concave hip of the south bay window.". In 1898, it was purchased by T. F. A. Williams, who lived here with his wife, sociologist Hattie Plum Williams who wrote books about German Russians. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since June 14, 1982.

The William L. and Sydney V. Murphy House is a historic two-and-a-half-story house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1889 for William L. Murphy and his wife Sydney, and it was designed in the Queen Anne style. It later belonged to art collector and patron Frances Sheldon, the namesake of the Sheldon Museum of Art. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since November 4, 1994.

Antelope Grocery is a historic mixed-use building in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1922 for Roy B. Palin and his wife Julia, with a grocery store on the first floor and residential apartments on the second floor. It was designed in the Tudor Revival style by the architectural firm Fiske & Meginnis. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 17, 1988.

Arts and Humanities Focus Program, commonly referred to as Arts, is a focus program that specializes in art and the humanities. The school opened in 1999, and is housed in a historic bottling plant along the banks of Antelope Creek in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States.

M Street Park (later Antelope Park) was an American football field in Lincoln, Nebraska on 23rd and M Streets, just southeast of the University of Nebraska's main campus. It served as the primary home venue of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team from 1892 through 1896, and again from 1908 until partway through the 1909 season.

The Eddy-Taylor House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built with bricks in 1891 for Ambrose Eddy, and designed in the Queen Anne style. In 1902, it was purchased by Professor W. G. L. Taylor, who was the chair of the department of Political Economy at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln from 1893 to 1911. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 21, 1983.

Lincoln High School is a public secondary school located in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States. A part of the Lincoln Public Schools school district, it is the largest high school in the city. More than 40,000 students have graduated from Lincoln High in its 148-year history. The school colors are red and black, and the mascot is the Links. Its mascot is memorialized in a statue in the school's front lawn, with four individual links chained together. These represent the hopeful characteristics of Lincoln High School: tradition, diversity, excellence, and unity.

The Sunken Gardens was constructed during the winter of 1930-31 in Lincoln, Nebraska. It is the only garden in Nebraska listed in the National Geographic Guide to Public Gardens 300 Best Gardens to Visit in the United States and Canada.
