Kingman Park is a residential neighborhood in the Northeast quadrant of Washington, D.C., the capital city of the United States. Kingman Park's boundaries are 15th Street NE to the west; C Street SE to the south; Benning Road to the north; and Anacostia Park to the east. The neighborhood is composed primarily of two-story brick rowhouses (most of which were built when the neighborhood was founded in 1928). Kingman Park is named after Brigadier General Dan Christie Kingman, the former head of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (for whom nearby Kingman Island and Kingman Lake are also named).

19th Street is a streetcar station located east of the intersection of Benning Rd and 19th Street. It is located on the H Street/Benning Road Line of the DC Streetcar system.

Carver Langston is a cluster of two neighborhoods, Carver and Langston, just south of the United States National Arboretum in Northeast Washington, D.C. The two neighborhoods are most often referred to as one, because they are two small triangular neighborhoods that together form a square of land on the western bank of the Anacostia River. Carver is the smaller and northernmost neighborhood of the two, bordered by Bladensburg Road to the west, M Street NE to the north, and Maryland Avenue to the southeast. Langston is bordered by Maryland Avenue to the northwest, 22nd and 26th Streets NE to the east, and Benning Road to the south. Directly east of the neighborhood on the very edge of the river is the Langston Golf Course, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the first course in the United States to allow blacks; boxing champion Joe Louis was one of its most frequent visitors. Carver is named after George Washington Carver, a famous black inventor. Langston Terrace is named after John Mercer Langston who served as the first black American from Virginia to serve in the United States Congress. Langston Terrace is famous because it is the city's first federally funded public housing program to be built in 1938. The housing projects were explicitly designed for African American residents, since the District was rigidly segregated at the time. Carver Langston is a middle-income residential neighborhood populated by retirees, families, young professionals and renters. Although now it is starting to gentrify particularly on its western and southern edges. The area's main retail center is Hechinger Mall, with its namesake having been closed since the late 1990s. The entire area is part of Ward 5.

Graceland Cemetery was a 30-acre (120,000 m2) cemetery located in the Carver Langston neighborhood of Washington, D.C., in the United States. It was founded in 1871 as a privately owned secular cemetery open to the public, but it primarily served the city's African American community. From 1884 to 1885, more than 1,200 bodies were transferred to Graceland Cemetery from Holmead's Burying Ground. When the cemetery encountered financial problems, the owners attempted to sell the land. This led to a lengthy and bitter battle involving the Graceland Cemetery Association, lotholders, the government of the District of Columbia, and the United States Congress. Graceland Cemetery closed by an Act of Congress on August 3, 1894. Removal of remains was also bitterly contested, but a court ruled in the summer of 1895 that the lotholders did not have the right to prevent their removal. Most of the bodies at Graceland were reinterred at Woodlawn Cemetery in Washington, D.C. A portion of Maryland Avenue NE runs through a portion of the former cemetery. Most of the cemetery was purchased by Washington Railway and Electric Company and turned into a powerhouse and streetcar operations complex. This land later became Hechinger Mall.

15th Street is a streetcar station located east of the intersection of H Street NE and Benning Road. It is located on the H Street/Benning Road Line of the DC Streetcar system.

Langston Terrace Dwellings are historic structures located in the Langston portion of the Carver/Langston neighborhoods in the Northeast quadrant of Washington, D.C. The apartments were built between 1935 and 1938 and they were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The Starburst Intersection refers to the intersection of six streets in northeast Washington, D.C.: Bladensburg Road NE (part of U.S. Route 1 Alternate (US 1 Alt.), Benning Road NE, 15th Street NE, Maryland Avenue NE (also part of US 1 Alt.), and H Street NE intersect directly, and to the immediate northwest of this intersection is the easternmost point of Florida Avenue. The name "starburst" refers to the star-like shape created by these roads when viewed on a map.The Starburst Intersection also serves as a demarcation point between four Washington, D.C. neighborhoods: Carver Langston to the northeast, Trinidad to the northwest, Near Northeast to the southwest, and Kingman Park to the southeast. Eastern High School is a public high school in Washington, D.C. As of the 2021–2022 school year, it educates 735 students in grades 9 through 12. The school is located in the eastern edge of the Capitol Hill neighborhood, at the intersection of 17th Street and East Capital Street Northeast. Eastern was a part of the District of Columbia Public Schools restructuring project, reopening in 2011 to incoming first-year students and growing by a grade level each year. It graduated its first class in 2015. Eastern is part of the District of Columbia Public Schools. It was founded in 1890 as the Capitol Hill High School and was later relocated and rebuilt in the collegiate gothic style and renamed Eastern Senior High School. It is one of the oldest continuously operating high schools in the District of Columbia.Eastern was designated an International Baccalaureate school in 2013 and awarded its first IB diploma in 2015.

The Maloof Skate Park, or Maloof Money Cup Washington DC Skate Park, opened to the public in March 2012. It is a 15,000-square-foot skate park, located next to RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. The park was designed by Pro Skater Geoff Rowley and Joe Ciaglia's team at California Skateparks.The Maloof Money Cup builds skate parks for public use in exchange for hosting access, and the total cost of building the DC Skate park is estimated to be nearly a million dollars.After the inaugural Maloof Money Cup DC in September 2011 was hosted here, the park remained closed to the public, and although there were rumors of deconstruction, the park is now open for day use. Landscaping around the park has been completed, although the parking lot pavement is abysmal.The design of the park was inspired by features in Freedom Plaza, and the urban architecture up and down Pennsylvania Avenue. Features include a great number of steps, jumps, ledges, rails, a 4 ft quarter pipe, and a 5–6 ft vert wall. The features vary in size and the park is suitable for beginner to advanced skaters.

Phelps Architecture, Construction and Engineering High School or Phelps A.C.E. High School is a public high school in the northeast quadrant of the District of Columbia, United States. The school is often considered a prime example of the school investment program currently occurring in DC. Having fallen victim to time and neglect, the school was rebuilt by an award-winning architect from several smaller buildings into its current form. Along with architecture, construction, and engineering, other courses are also taught there, including vehicle maintenance/repair and operation of large vehicles such as cranes and diggers on state-of-the-art simulators. The school also has a small greenhouse where the students can tend plants. The school powers its buildings by various renewable energy sources (indicated by the color-coded pipes inside, each color denoting a different system). As part of their coursework, the school entrusts students to monitor and maintain components of this system.

Joel Elias Spingarn High School was a public high school located in the District of Columbia, USA. The school is named after Joel Elias Spingarn (1875–1939) an American educator and literary critic who established the Spingarn Medal in 1913, awarded annually for outstanding achievement by an African American.
