Lake Wohlen (German: Wohlensee) is a reservoir in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland. Its surface is approximately 3.65 km² and its maximum depth is 20 m. It lies between the towns of Bremgarten bei Bern and Mühleberg. Lake Wohlen was completed in 1920.

The Mühleberg Nuclear Power Plant (German: Kernkraftwerk Mühleberg, KKM) is a formerly operational nuclear power plant in the Mühleberg municipality in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland. Operated by BKW FMB Energie AG, the plant generated power from 6 November 1972 until 20 December 2019. Nuclear decommissioning of the plant began January 2020 and is currently forecasted to be completed by 2034.

Gümmenenkrieg

The Gümmenenkrieg was a war between the emergent city-states of Bern and Fribourg in 1331-33 in what is now Switzerland. The war pitted Bern and the new Swiss Confederation against the Habsburg-supported city of Fribourg and local nobles. It was also the first in a series of battles that brought the Habsburgs and Fribourg into prominence in the County of Burgundy. The war ended without resolving anything and led to other wars between Bern and Fribourg.

It is a refuge of international importance for water and wading birds. The municipality of Niederried bei Kallnach merged on 1 January 2013 into Kallnach.

Chutzen

The Chutzen (or Chutze; 820 m) is a wooded hill of the Swiss Plateau, located halfway between Lake Biel and Bern. It lies south of the village of Frienisberg and belongs to the municipality of Seedorf. On the summit lies a 45-metre-high wooden tower, the Chutzenturm, which opened in June 2010.
