Birdville Independent School District

Birdville was a former community in Tarrant County, Texas, United States which was founded circa 1840. Today, the community is known and incorporated as Haltom City.

Haltom City is a city, part of the Dallas–Fort Worth region, in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. Its population was 46,073 at the 2020 census. Haltom City is an inner suburb of Fort Worth, a principal city of the DFW Metroplex. The city is 6 miles from downtown Fort Worth, 30 miles from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, and 20 miles from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Irving. Haltom City is surrounded almost entirely by Fort Worth, North Richland Hills, Watauga, and Richland Hills. The education system for Haltom City is served by the Birdville Independent School District, which also serves neighboring cities including Fort Worth, North Richland Hills, Watauga, and as far as Hurst. It is also served in the north by Keller ISD, with high-school students exclusively feeding into Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Worth. The city is home to 10 parks, a public library, and a recreation center. Haltom City is surrounded by major highways including, Highway 26, Highway 377, SH 121, (NE 28th St) SH 183, and Interstate 820.

Richland Hills is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 7,801 at the 2010 census.

Richland Hills station is a Trinity Railway Express commuter rail station in Richland Hills, Texas. It is located near Handley-Ederville Road and SH 121 and opened on September 16, 2000. The parking lot at the station was expanded in 2011. As a result of Richland Hills residents voting to withdraw from Trinity Metro on November 8, 2016, Richland Hills station is set to be replaced by the new Trinity Lakes station currently under construction. Richland Hills station will close once Trinity Lakes station opens.

North Richland Hills/Iron Horse station is a TEXRail commuter rail station in North Richland Hills, Texas.

In the early morning hours of May 28, 2013, Jerry Waller (born October 23, 1940) heard possible trespassers outside his house in a suburban neighborhood of Fort Worth, Texas, United States. When he went outside to investigate, carrying his handgun, he encountered two police officers, one of whom shot and killed him. No criminal charges were brought after the officers were cleared of wrongdoing; while the city was found not to be liable in civil litigation, suits against the officers involved have continued. The officers, both in their first year on the job, had been responding to a report of a burglar alarm being triggered at a neighboring residence. Due to the poor lighting conditions, they went to the wrong house, Waller's, and did not turn their flashlights on to verify the address as they had walked across the yard of another neighboring house in order to avoid alerting any intruder on the property to their approach. Seeing it was dark, they believed it unoccupied, and patrolled around the perimeter, where they encountered Waller outside the house near the opened garage. Waller's family has challenged the officers' version of events, noting the two give different accounts of how far away the officer who fired was at the time, and how Waller was holding his gun. The family says Waller was inside the garage when he was shot. They also point to the autopsy report, which shows wounds to Waller's hand that they say are inconsistent with him having a gun in it at the time they were inflicted. Courts have held that it is a genuine question of fact as to whether Waller was armed when fired on; if it were found that he was not, the officers would not be entitled to qualified immunity.

North Hills Mall was a shopping mall on SH 26 in North Richland Hills, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas, United States. It held its grand opening on 12 September 1979. The property premiered with department stores, Stripling and Cox, Sanger Harris, and Mervyn's serving as anchor tenants. It would be successful for the first 20 years of its existence.

Woodhaven is a neighborhood at the corner of Interstate 30 and the Loop 820 East interchange in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. The neighborhood is bounded by the Trinity River to the north and the former CBS Channel 11 KTVT studios to the south. The Woodhaven Country Club, which has a clubhouse, a 6,543-yard, par 71, 18-hole golf course, a swimming pool, and tennis courts, is the center of the community.

Richland High School is a secondary school located in North Richland Hills, Texas. The school includes grades 9 through 12, and is part of the Birdville Independent School District.

Trinity Lakes station is a Trinity Railway Express commuter rail station. The station is located in eastern Fort Worth, Texas, on the border with Hurst, Texas, just to the east of Interstate 820 and north of Trinity Boulevard. The station is a part of Trinity Lakes, a 1,600-acre master planned mixed-use transit-oriented development.The station is a park-and-ride lot. A bus route operated by Trinity Metro connects the station to Tarrant County College Northeast Campus in Hurst, Texas.The station, which opened on February 19, 2024, replaced Richland Hills station, which was located 0.8 miles (1.3 km) to the west.

Mercantile Center station is a TEXRail commuter rail station in Fort Worth, Texas.

KHVN (970 AM) is a radio station licensed to Fort Worth, Texas, and serving the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, owned and operated by iHeartMedia, Inc. It airs an African American targeted all-news radio format, simulcast with co-owned KKGM 1630 AM, affiliates of the national Black Information Network. By day, KHVN is powered at 1,000 watts. But to avoid interference with other stations on 970 AM, it reduces power to 270 watts at night. The transmitter is Kimbo Road near Mesquite Road in Fort Worth. Programming is also heard on 150 watt FM translator K237HD in Fort Worth.
