Camrose County

Camrose ( KAM-rohz) is a city in central Alberta, Canada that is surrounded by Camrose County. Located along Highway 13 it had its beginnings as a railroad hub.

The 2008 Continental Cup of Curling was the 6th edition of this event and was held from December 18–21, 2008 at the EnCana Arena in Camrose, Alberta. It was the first edition of the Continental Cup in which teams outside of North America and Europe competed, due to the outstanding performance of the Chinese teams in the previous year's men's and women's world championships. To reflect the expanded participation, the team opposing North America was renamed from "Team Europe" to "Team World". The World Curling Federation named the six rinks representing Team World. The Canada Cup of Curling, Tournament of Hearts and Brier winners automatically qualify as the Canadian rinks in Team North America, while the American contingent in Team North America are represented by their men's and women's champions. The event was won by Team World by a score of 208-192, with the winning points scored in the fourth end in the men's featured skins game. The prize purse was $88,400 (CAD); each member of the winning team received $2000, while each member of the losing team received $1400. The Continental Divide, the entertainment centre, was located at the adjacent Border Paving Arena. The ice technician is Tim Yeo.

Augustana University College was a Lutheran college in Camrose, Alberta, Canada, from 1910 until it merged in 2004 with the University of Alberta, becoming its Augustana Faculty.

The Chester Ronning Centre for the Study of Religion and Public Life is a research centre on the University of Alberta's Augustana Campus in Camrose, Alberta. It is the first such centre in a public university in Canada to focus on the intersection of religion and public life.

CFCW-FM (98.1 MHz, New Country 98.1) is a radio station licensed to Camrose, Alberta. Owned by Stingray Radio, it broadcasts a country format. The station began broadcasting in 2003 with a country format that had moved over to CKRA-FM in Edmonton in 2005 to make room for the adult hits format on 98.1 FM, known at the time as 98.1 CAM-FM. As of November 30, 2017, the country format returned to the station now rebranded as New Country 98.1.

The Augustana Campus is a faculty of the University of Alberta located in Camrose, Alberta, Canada. It was merged into the larger, Edmonton, Alberta-based University in 2004.

Braim is an unincorporated community in Alberta, Canada within Camrose County that is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. It is located on the east side of Highway 833, 2.4 km (1.5 mi) north of Highway 13. It is adjacent to the City of Camrose to the south and the Camrose Airport to the east.

Duhamel is a hamlet in the central Alberta, Canada within Camrose County. It is located on Highway 21, approximately 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of Edmonton and 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of Camrose, Duhamel's closest major trading centre.

Miquelon Lake () is a saline lake in Alberta, Canada, in the heart of Miquelon Lake Provincial Park. The lake is no longer accessible for recreation as its water levels have dropped drastically since the 1920s. The lake is relatively shallow, only allowing for paddle boats such as canoes or kayaks. High salinity levels stunt the growth of algae and are responsible for the loss of fish life and the white residue found along the shoreline.

Bittern Lake, originally named Rosenroll, is a village in central Alberta, Canada. It is located between Camrose and Wetaskiwin, on Highway 13. The first post office opened in the home of Ernest Roper in 1899. It was known as the Village of Rosenroll between 1904 and 1911. The present name comes from Cree Indians in the area, on account of bittern near the lake.The lake itself is not accessible by road, and is not recommended for boating or fishing due to its high counts of alkali and its shallow waters. Locals enjoy the scenic walking trails around the lake as well as observing the native birds that nest in the area. The nearest shopping is in Camrose, Alberta.
