Waxpool is an unincorporated community in Loudoun County, Virginia. Waxpool is centered on Waxpool Road (Virginia Secondary Route 625) in the vicinity of Beaver Dam Reservoir and is part of the Broadlands census-designated place. Waxpool once contained a general store and post office in one building near the intersection of Waxpool Road (Rte. 625) and Belmont Ridge Rd (Rte. 659). The store and was reportedly opened in 1947. The post office was reportedly opened in 1953. Both the store and post office continued operation until 1966. Waxpool currently contains William D. Parsell Field, baseball field. Formerly named "Waxpool Baseball Field", it is currently named for the former owner and lessor of the field to Dulles Little League for use of the Waxpool Mustangs and Waxpool Orioles from the early 1970s through the early 1990s. Waxpool's name was derived from the fact that much of the local soil is Iredell clay loam, known locally as "wax land" from the waxy nature of the subsoil.Waxpool contained three dairy farms in the 1970s. Two of them were separately purchased and zoned for planned community development in the 1990s. One farm currently remains, located near the intersection of Waxpool Road (Rte. 625) and Belmont Ridge Rd (Rte. 659).

Broad Run High School is a public secondary school in Ashburn, an unincorporated area in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. Broad Run is part of the Loudoun County Public Schools system (LCPS). It was ranked as the #1 Best Public High School in Loudoun County and the #9 Best Public High School in Virginia by U.S. News in 2020. Originally a rural school serving all of eastern Loudoun County, the growth of the county's population beginning in the mid-1990s has resulted in systematic reduction of Broad Run's attendance area as it spun off eight of the district's high schools from within its original boundaries. Initial surroundings of farm fields have been replaced by housing tracts and the school now possesses one of the most culturally diverse student populations in the region. Broad Run High School is also located in one of the most affluent zip codes and counties in the country with recorded median income of more than $100,000 per household. After a period of high construction in the early 2000s, the number of high schools in the area stayed the same until Briar Woods and Freedom High School opened in 2005, John Champe High school in 2012, Rock Ridge High School in 2014, and Riverside High School completed construction in 2015.In 1969, Loudoun County opened its third public high school amidst corn fields in Ashburn to accommodate the growing student populations resulting from new housing developments in the unincorporated communities in the eastern half of the county. Since then, the county population has increased nearly sevenfold (most of it in the east), straining education budgets, infrastructure, and local politics. For Ashburn, this has resulted in constantly shifting attendance boundaries as new schools are constantly being opened, at all levels, elementary, middle, and high. The area's student demographics have significantly changed as well: Loudoun County's residents are now the country's most affluent (per capita), and its ethnic composition continues to diversify as foreign immigration into Northern Virginia increases. Before the 2011–2012 school year, additional lockers were installed due to increases in the school's population.

Moorefield is a census-designated place (CDP) in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. As of the 2010 census, the CDP was named Moorefield Station, and the population was 77. As of 2019, the estimated population was 1,976. Moorefield is a mixed-use development currently in progress, located at the Ashburn station currently under construction at the planned terminus of the Metrorail Silver Line.

Ashburn is a planned Washington Metro station in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States, on the Silver Line. Originally planned to begin operation in 2018, the station is now expected to open in July 2022. Ashburn will be the western terminus of the line; the current western terminus is Wiehle–Reston East station, which opened with phase one of the Silver Line in July 2014.In April 2015, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority approved the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors' name for the stop.Ashburn station is located at the median of the Dulles Greenway (SR 267) east of Old Ryan Road (SR 772). It will be the furthest station from the Washington city center, and the closest to West Virginia, being only 26.5 miles (42.6 km) by road from Keyes Gap.

Francis–Gulick Mill is a historic archaeological site located near Leesburg, Loudoun County, Virginia. The site includes a small stone miller's house foundation, stone remnants of a mill foundation, and the millrace and two millstones that are lying next to the miller's house foundations. The mill and miller's house may have been built as early as the late-18th century and were in use at least by the second decade of the 19th century. The mill appears to have been abandoned by 1879 and the house was abandoned in the 1880s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Loudoun Valley Estates is a census-designated place (CDP) in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2010 United States Census was 3,656. It is a Toll Brothers community located near the planned Ashburn Metro station complex and Moorefield Station town center in the southern part of Ashburn, Virginia. Loudoun Valley Estates is governed by a homeowners' association.It was formerly part of the county planning commission's Urban Policy Area but has been removed. The community is served by the Loudoun County Parkway.

Brambleton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States, south of the Dulles Greenway. The population as of the 2010 United States Census was 9,845. In 2017, Brambleton had an estimated population of 19,900, with a median age of 34.3 and a median household income of $173,690. Between 2016 and 2017 the population of Brambleton, VA grew from 17,063 to 19,876, a 16.5% increase and its median household income grew from $164,321 to $173,690, a 5.7% increase. Construction started on the Brambleton community in 2001.

Ashburn Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located in Ashburn, Loudoun County, Virginia. It was built in 1878, and is a one-story, rectangular wood-frame building in the Carpenter Gothic style. The church measures 33 feet wide by 50 feet long, and is topped by a steep gable roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
