Zone 17, Qatar

As Salatah (Arabic: اسلطة; also known as Old Al Salata) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah. It is primarily a commercial district and is situated near Hamad International Airport. In the 1970s, as part of a master plan for Doha prepared by Llewelyn Davies, the whole district was redeveloped in a push to modernize the cityscape. The Civil Aviation Authority and the National Museum of Qatar are located in the district.

Al Rufaa (Arabic: الرفاع) is a neighborhood of Doha, Qatar. In the 2015 population census it was recorded as being in Zone 17 with Old Al Hitmi, which it borders to the east with the boundary being Sheraouh Street.

Old Al Hitmi (Arabic: الهتمي العتيق; also known as Al-Hitmi Al-Ateeq or simply Al Hitmi) is a mixed-use district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah. The name is derived from Al-Hitmi family, which is a branch of the main Al Bin Ali tribe. Together with Al Rufaa, it forms Zone 17, which has a population of 6,028.

National Museum station is a station on the Doha Metro's Gold Line and serves the nearby National Museum of Qatar in the Qatari capital Doha.

The Old Amiri Palace, located in Doha, Qatar, previously served as the residence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani during the early 20th century. It became defunct in 1923 when Abdullah bin Jassim shifted his seat of government to the then-abandoned Ottoman fort of Qal'at al-Askar. In 1972, it was decided that it would be converted into a museum, culminating in the Qatar National Museum.

Doha Sports Stadium (Arabic: اســتــاد الدوحــة الرياضي), is the first football stadium in the Arabian Gulf region with a grass pitch, established in 1962. It is located in Doha near the Doha Corniche. Though its official opening was in 1962, there were non-professional matches being played in it since the 1950s.The most notable match in this stadium was a friendly match in 1973 between Pelé's Santos FC and the Qatari team Al Ahli. Minor football matches are still held at the stadium, such as youth games and amateur competitions, among which are the Asian Communities Football Tournament and the Qatar Amateur League (QAL).

Zone 18 is a zone of the municipality of Ad Dawhah in the state of Qatar. The main districts recorded in the 2015 population census were As Salatah and Al Mirqab.

Al Mirqab (Arabic: المرقاب; also referred to as Fereej Al Mirqab) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah.Together with As Salatah, it makes up Zone 18 which has 692 people in it.

Dar Al Kutub Al Qatariyya (Arabic: دار الكتب القطرية, romanized: Dār al-Kutub al-Qatarīyyah) is a library in Doha, Qatar that served as the national library until the opening of the Qatar National Library in 2012. It was founded in 1962 and is considered to be the first public library in the Persian Gulf region.

Qatar National Library (QNL) is a non-profit organization under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. The plans for the new national library were announced by Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, on 19 November 2012, during a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Dar Al Kutub Library, in Doha, Qatar, one of the first public libraries in the Persian Gulf region (founded on 29 December 1962), which had until then been regarded as the national library of Qatar.QNL aims to serve a three-fold function: as a national library, a research-level university library, and a central metropolitan public library equipped for the digital age. In its capacity as a national library as defined by UNESCO, it collects and provides access to global knowledge, including heritage content and materials relevant to Qatar and the region; as a university and research library, it supports education and research at all levels; and as a modern central public library, it provides library services and resources to meet the reading interests and foster the information literacy of the general public. In addition, with the opening of the new building, it also serves as a community meeting place.Claudia Lux, a German scholar and library professional, was appointed by the Qatar Foundation to be the director of the library project in April 2012, and initially oversaw the launch of QNL as a digital library. Meanwhile, construction began on a new building for the library in Education City, a district in Doha that was developed by Qatar Foundation as a center of higher education, and now includes branch campuses of six American universities, as well as other educational and research institutions.In October 2016, Dr. Sohair Wastawy was appointed as Executive Director of QNL, to which she brought 30 years of library managerial experience.

Old Al Ghanim (Arabic: الغانم العتيق) is a neighborhood of Doha, the capital of Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah. It forms a part of Doha's historic downtown. A notable landmark was the New World Centre, a supermarket established in 1987. It has since been relocated. Numerous other local businesses have also been relocated to other parts of Doha by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment so it could carry out massive-scale reconstruction of the neighborhood and clear out portions to make way for the Doha Metro. The Al Ghanim Central Bus station is another important landmark found here.

Umm Ghuwailina (Arabic: أم غويلينة, romanized: Umm Ghuwaylīnah) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah.
