Tunes (Silves)

Tunes is a railway station on the Algarve Line, which serves Tunes, in the Silves municipality, Portugal. It opened on the 1st of July 1889, and is the junction of the Algarve and Southern lines.

The Castle of Paderne (Portuguese: Castelo de Paderne) is an ancient fortification located in the civil parish of Paderne, municipality of Albufeira, in the Portuguese Algarve. It was constructed in the later 12th century by Berbers, in an area around 7.5 kilometres (4.7 mi) inland. The edifice is located just 8.2 kilometres (5.1 mi) from the resort town of Albufeira, along a bend in the Quarteira River. It is believed to be one of the original castles that occupy the shield of the Portuguese national flag.

Sobrado is a closed halt on the Algarve line in the municipality of Silves, Portugal. It is part of the section from Algoz to Poço Barreto, which opened on 19 March 1900.

Albufeira is a former freguesia ("civil parish"), located in Albufeira Municipality, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Albufeira e Olhos de Água. It has a population of 16,237 (2001) and an area of 26.49 km². It belongs to the city of Albufeira.

The population in 2021 was 44,158, in an area of 140.66 square kilometres (54.31 square miles). The city proper had a population of 28,645 in 2021. It is 250 kilometres (160 mi) from Lisbon, close to Paderne Castle. Lagoa is 30 kilometres (19 mi) to the west, and Faro 45 kilometres (28 mi) to the southeast. A tourist destination due to its coastal conditions, Albufeira's population expands to around 300,000 in the summer and at Christmas and New Year owing to the number of hotels that includes marina facilities, golf courses, restaurants and bars.
