Haifa City Museum

The Haifa Museum of Art (Hebrew: מוזיאון חיפה לאמנות, Arabic: متحف حيفا للفنون), established in 1951, is located in a historic building built in the 1930s in Wadi Nisnas, downtown Haifa. Ranking as Israel's third largest art museum, the museum focuses on Israeli and international contemporary art, and its collection includes 7,000 items, mostly of contemporary Israeli art.

The St. Joseph's Church (Hebrew: כנסיית יוסף הקדוש Latin: Ecclesia Sancti Josephi) is a religious building that is affiliated with the Catholic Church and is administered by the Order of Carmelites, located in the German Colony of Haifa, northern Israel. Beside the church dedicated to St. Joseph, is found a school and offices linked to the church. The first Latin-rite Catholic Church was dedicated to the Prophet Elijah in the Hamra Square. It was inaugurated in 1867 and could accommodate 400 worshipers. The temple was damaged in the War of Independence and the Carmelite friars settled in the building of the Salesian school in the city center. In the 1950s the community managed to raise enough money to build a new church, which was designed by Italian architect Antonio Barluzzi, was inaugurated in 1961, a year after his death. The Church of St. Joseph is the last building designed by Barluzzi in the Holy Land.

The NB Haifa School of Design, named after Neri Bloomfield and formerly WIZO Canada, is a college of art located in the German Colony in downtown Haifa, Israel. It is the leading professional and academic institution for higher education in art in northern Israel. The academy's president is Dr David Alexander.

The German Colony (HaMoshava HaGermanit) (Hebrew: המושבה הגרמנית, Arabic: المستعمرة الألمانية) was established in Ottoman Haifa in 1868 as a German Templer Colony in Palestine. It was the first of several colonies established by the group in the Holy Land. Others were founded in Sarona near Jaffa, Galilee and Jerusalem.

The Italian Hospital in Haifa (Italian: Ospedale Italiano, Hebrew: בית החולים האיטלקי בחיפה) is a medical center administered by the National Association for Assistance to Italian Missionaries (ANSMI). Inaugurated at the current location in 1932-33, the hospital is run by the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who are providing the nursing staff which is also residing in the hospital. The hospital contains over 100 beds.

Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Akka (in Arabic: أبرشية عكا وحيفا والناصرة وسائر الجليل للروم الملكيين الكاثوليك) is an Eastern Catholic diocese of Melkite Greek Catholic Church (Byzantine Rite, Arabic), directly subject to the Melkite Patriarch of Antioch. Its Cathedral episcopal see is St. Elijah Greek-Melkite Cathedral, in Haifa.

The St. Elijah Cathedral (Arabic: كاتدرائية مار إلياس, Hebrew: קתדרלת אליהו הנביא) also called St. Elias Greek-Melkite Cathedral, is the name given to the Melkite cathedral in Haifa, serving the Greek-Catholics of the Byzantine rite making up the majority of Christians in both Haifa and Israel. St. Elijah Cathedral is the cathedral of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Akka (Archieparchia Ptolemaidensis Melchitarum), which was created by bull Episcopalis synodus of Pope Paul VI. The cathedral was designed by architect Sammihom Atallah. The construction of the cathedral began in 1938 and ended in 1939. Since 1861 the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Akka was the church of the Virgin Mary in Haifa. After the Arab-Israeli war (between 1947-1949), most Melkites, who lived in the area, moved to the lower city of Haifa, and the bishop's chair was moved to the church St. Elijah (St. Elias). The front of the cathedral is crowned with a cross, which is a few meters away from a small bell tower. On the portal is the biblical story of the prophet Elijah.

Haifa Center HaShmona railway station (Hebrew: תחנת הרכבת חיפה מרכז השמונה, Taḥanat HaRakevet Ḥeifa Merkaz HaShmona, Arabic: محطة حيفا مركز - هشمونه) is an Israel Railways passenger station situated on the coastal railway main line and serves the City of Haifa.

Wadi Nisnas (Arabic: وادي النسناس; Hebrew: ואדי ניסנאס) is a formerly mixed Jewish and Arab neighborhood in the city of Haifa in northern Israel, which is becoming mixed again. Nisnas is the Arabic word for mongoose, an indigenous animal. The wadi has a population of about 8,000 inhabitants.Wadi Nisnas was developed at the end of the nineteenth century as a Christian-Arab neighborhood outside the walls of Haifa, after 1948 the neighborhood become the center of Haifa Arab community, providing the community with education, religious, and other civic and cultural services. The current Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics census estimates that 66% of the Wadi Nisnas population are Christians, 31.5% are Muslims, and the rest are Jews.Wadi Nisnas is the setting for the 1987 novel, Hatsotsrah ba-Vadi (Hebrew: "Trumpet in the Wadi") by Sami Michael. It centers on the love story between a young Israeli Arab woman and a new Jewish immigrant from Russia.
