Nampa Department Store

The Jacob P. Lockman House is a historic house in Nampa, Idaho. It was built in 1906 for Jacob P. Lockman, a Danish immigrant who owned a saloon in Ketchum and served as the mayor of Wallace before opening a brewery in Nampa. The house was designed in the American Foursquare style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 27, 2005.

The Nampa Depot in Nampa, Idaho, is a former passenger station on the Oregon Short Line Railroad, designed by Frederick W. Clarke. The 1-story, brick and sandstone depot was described in 1972 by Arthur A. Hart, director of the Idaho State Historical Museum, as "an interesting eclectic combination of Romanesque, Renaissance, and Baroque elements, with the latter dominating. A massive central block of French Renaissance form is flanked by two advancing Baroque bays that bulge dramatically forward." The depot was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

The E. H. Dewey Stores in Nampa, Idaho, is the remnant of an L-shape building that once surrounded the Farmers and Merchants Bank at the corner of 11th Avenue and 1st Street. The L-shape was designed to contain two stores in each wing. The 1-story, stone and brick building was designed by Tourtellotte and Hummel and constructed in 1919, and it reveals a restrained Neoclassical architecture common in commercial buildings of the early 20th century. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Farmers and Merchants Bank, now the Nampa Public Library, at 101 11th Ave., S., in Nampa, Idaho is an Idaho bank building whose construction began in 1919. It was designed by Idaho's most notable architects Tourtellotte & Hummel in Classical Revival style that suggests solidity. It is a 60 feet (18 m) by 90 feet (27 m) two-story building with a portico consisting of a pediment supported by two pairs of Ionic columns. The pediment's tympanum contains an eagle sculpture. Within the portico, above the front door of the bank, is "Nampa Public Library" in block letters and a smaller pediment is sculpted and includes insignia of the First National Bank.A banking downturn hit, however, before it was completed, and the Farmers and Mechanics Bank company was absorbed by the First National Bank. The building was occupied by the Stockmen's National Bank company, which was absorbed by the First Security Bank in 1927. The building was donated to the city of Nampa for use as its library by the First Security Bank in 1965.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.It was deemed significant in part for its architecture, in particular for "its sculpted pediments on the portico and above the door, and for its fine stained glass skylight, which is still in place.": 3 Nampa Public Library occupied the building until 2015, when a new library was constructed. The bank building was renovated, and it reopened in 2018 as a multi-office commercial space.Henry Aldous Dixon was managing vice president of the bank from 1924 to 1932, between two terms as superintendent of a university.

The Nampa Historic District is a 3-acre (1.2 ha) historic district in Nampa, Idaho that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The listing included 10 contributing buildings. Its National Register nomination described:The district is historically significant for its association with Nampa's commercial development during the period 1905 through 1920, a major period of growth during which Nampa's main street, First Street South, gained a full complement of two-story brick business blocks.: 3  It includes part or all of the 1200 and 1300 blocks of S. 1st St. in Nampa, and it includes work by architects Tourtellotte & Hummel. Tourtellotte & Hummel designed the one-story Nampa Department Store (1919) in the 1300 block, also the two-story Nampa Department Store at 1307 First Street South (1910).

The Nampa Public Library is located in historic downtown Nampa, Idaho at 215-12th Avenue South. The library is a member of the Lynx! Consortium of libraries in the Treasure Valley. The library offers materials in a variety of formats including books, magazines, audiobooks, CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, eAudiobooks and a variety of databases. Fourteen Internet computers are available on a first come-first-served basis. Except during holidays or unusual events, the library is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday. In fiscal year 2006, the library had over 290,000 customer visits, averaging 968 per day, and a collection of over 143,000 items. In 2011, the average customer visits were over 1100 per day. Nampa Public Library employs 17 full-time employees, and 17 part-time employees. 5 staff members hold master's degrees in librarianship.

The Nampa and Meridian Irrigation District Office in Nampa, Idaho, is a 1-story brick and concrete building designed by Tourtellotte and Hummel and completed in 1919. The building features tall, narrow window fenestrations topped by large, vertical keystones with sidestones. Most of the windows have been replaced by a flat stucco surface painted brilliant white. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Nampa Presbyterian Church is a historic church at 2nd Street and 15th Avenue, South in Nampa, Idaho. It was built in 1918 and was added to the National Register in 1982. It was designed by architects Tourtellotte & Hummel. Its NRHP nomination states:The Nampa Presbyterian Church is architecturally significant as a handsome and unaltered Gothic church design of the later 1910s, which suggests in the increased verticality of its parapeted gables the renewed picturesque impulse that seems to have been emerging at this time (see also site 95). The church is also significant as one of the fairly numerous Nampa commissions by this firm, one which contributes welcome texture and style in a town whose streetscapes are considerably eroded. Finally, it stands as an example of the progressive building campaigns whereby small-town churches often accommodated growing congregations with limited resources. It was listed on the National Register as part of a study of historic properties designed by Tourtellotte & Hummel.

The Nampa American Legion Chateau at 1508 2nd St., S., in Nampa, Idaho, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by Tourtellotte & Hummel in 1931.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It is a "fanciful" and "picturesque" design. The building is one-story and arranged in an L-shape.

Nampa ( ) is the most populous city in Canyon County, Idaho, United States. Its population was 100,200 at the time of the 2020 census. It is Idaho's 3rd most populous city. Nampa is about 20 miles (32 km) west of Boise along Interstate 84, and six miles (10 km) west of Meridian. It is the second principal city of the Boise metropolitan area. The name "Nampa" may have come from a Shoshoni word meaning either moccasin or footprint. According to toponymist William O. Bright the name comes from the Shoshoni word /nampai/, meaning "foot".

Mercy Hospital was a two-story building in Nampa, Idaho, United States. Built in 1919 and operated by the Sisters of Mercy, the building was vacated in 1967 when the hospital moved to the newly constructed Mercy Medical Center. The building was then used by several different occupants, the last, Valley Plaza Retirement Center, closed in 2004.

The H. Orton Wiley House, located at 524 E. Dewey in Nampa, Idaho, was built in 1922. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It has also been known as Wiley Alumni House.It is a two-story brick house on the edge of the campus of Northwest Nazarene University.It is significant for its "association with the organization and early development of Northwest Nazarene College and with the college's first president, H. Orton Wiley. Built in 1922-23, the house is the only building that survives to represent the early era in Northwest Nazarene College history."
