Scarr's Pizza is a pizzeria at 22 Orchard Street in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The restaurant was founded in 2016 by Scarr Pimentel, a New York native who learned to make pizza at Lombardi's.Staff mills some of the wheat for the restaurant's fermented crust in the pizzeria's basement daily, mixing it with flour from upstate New York in a compromise to keep up with demand. It is the only pizza-by-the-slice restaurant milling its own flour in New York, according to Serious Eats. Gothamist wrote that its cheese is a combination of three types of mozzarella and sauce is made fresh.The restaurant sourced much of its decor from a bowling alley which, in combination with its wood paneled walls, and letter boards, is intended to recreate the diner-like aesthetic of neighborhood pizzerias from the 1970s or 1980s. Several reviewers praised the dough, cheese, sauce, and ingredient selection, and it was named one of the best pizza slices in New York by the New York Times, Gothamist, and Serious Eats. In a mixed review by The Infatuation, Bryan Kim wrote that Scarr's works better if you think of it as a bar that serves pizza rather than expect a comfortable sit-down restaurant.A second location in a food hall in Midtown Manhattan was planned, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Metrograph is an independent two-screen movie theater at 7 Ludlow Street in the Dimes Square section of the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It opened in 2016 with two theatres, a bookstore, a "curated" concession stand, and a restaurant. It was founded by Alexander Olch, who is better known as a designer of men's ties.

The Jarmulowsky Bank Building is a 12-story building on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City. Located at Canal Street and Orchard Street, the Jarmulowsky Bank Building was built in 1912 and designed by architects William Lawrence Rouse and Lafayette A. Goldstone in the Beaux-Arts style. The building is faced with limestone at its lower section and architectural terracotta on its higher section. Sender Jarmulowsky established the Jarmulowsky Bank in 1873. When World War I broke out two years after the bank building was completed, there was a run on the bank, as German investors withdrew funds to send to relatives abroad, and the bank failed.Until 1990, the building featured a massive tempietto rising 50 feet to a dome ringed by eagles. The building was renovated in 1990 by Sing May Realty and the tempietto destroyed. In 2014, a proposal to build a replica of this structure was approved by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. This was completed and unveiled by the beginning of 2020.The building is now used for commercial purposes. In 2013 the building was slated for conversion into a boutique, luxury hotel.

The United States Post Office Knickerbocker Station, originally known as "Station B", is a historic post office building located on East Broadway in Manhattan, New York City. It was built in 1935–37, and designed by consulting architect William Dewey Foster for the Office of the Supervising Architect of the United States Department of the Treasury. The building is a two to three story, brick building with a mansard roof and granite trim in the Colonial Revival style. The main entrance features a three bay wide pavilion topped by a pediment.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Canal Street was a station on the demolished IRT Second Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It had two levels. The lower level had two tracks and two side platforms and the upper level had one track that served the express trains. The next stop to the north was Grand Street. The next stop to the south was Chatham Square. The station closed on June 13, 1942.

Mesivtha Tifereth Jerusalem (Hebrew: מתיבתא תפארת ירושלים, Mesivta Tiferet Yerushaláyim) (MTJ) is a yeshiva in New York City, and one of the oldest existent yeshivas in the city. It is the institution formerly led by Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, and then led by his son Rabbi Dovid Feinstein until his passing in November 2020. MTJ is now led by Rabbi Berel Feinstein.

The East Broadway station is a station on the IND Sixth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at East Broadway and Rutgers Street in the Lower East Side, it is served by the F train at all times and the train during rush hours in the peak direction. The East Broadway station was built for the Independent Subway System (IND)'s Sixth Avenue Line and opened on January 1, 1936. It contains one island platform and two tracks. The station was initially intended as an interchange station with the Worth Street Line underneath East Broadway, to be built as part of the IND Second System, although the other line was not completed. As a result, the station contains several mezzanines, one of which was originally intended as the platform level of the Worth Street Line. The station has exits to Rutgers Street's intersections with East Broadway and with Madison Street.

Orchard was an artist-run exhibition and event space located at 47 Orchard Street in New York's Lower East Side from 2005-2008. The gallery was run as a for-profit limited liability corporation founded for the project. The partners included artists, filmmakers, critics, art historians, and curators. Orchard was among early contemporary art projects and galleries that moved onto Orchard and generally the Lower East Side below Delancey Street along with Miguel Abreu Gallery, Reena Spaulings, and Scorched Earth. Brandon Joseph noted, "the Orchard 'project' treaded a fine—and perhaps ultimately impossible—line between self-reflexivity and (to use a barbaric neologism) self-complicity, which could veer at times into self-promotion." Orchard's program focused on, "thematically, conceptually and politically driven group exhibitions and projects," according to the space's website.Orchard restaged or produced unrealized projects by Michael Asher, Andrea Fraser with Allan McCollum, Dan Graham, and Lawrence Weiner. Orchard has also presented historical works by Daniel Buren, Luis Camnitzer, Juan Downey, Hans Haacke, Roberto Jacoby, Adrian Piper, Anthony McCall and Martha Rosler, as well as new works by Martin Beck, Merlin Carpenter, Nicolás Guagnini, Jutta Koether, Josiah McElheny, Lucy McKenzie, Blake Rayne, Stephan Pascher, Jeff Preiss, R. H. Quaytman, Karin Schneider, and Jason Simon, among others.

Gertel's Bakery was a kosher bake shop on New York's Lower East Side. Located at 53 Hester Street, Gertel's Bakery operated from 1914 until the retail store closed on June 21, 2007. It merged with Delancey Bakery and its successor operates as Gertel's Uptown, 101 Steuben Street, Brooklyn, NY, providing wholesale business only.

The Church of St. Teresa is a Roman Catholic parish located at 16-18 Rutgers Street on the corner of Henry Street in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The parish is under the authority of the Archdiocese of New York. The church building was constructed in 1841-42 as the Rutgers Presbyterian Church erected in the Gothic Revival style on a plot of ground donated by Colonel Henry Rutgers, and it is said to have oldest public clock in New York City. The church was taken over by St. Teresa's Parish in 1863, only three years after it was founded.A special feature of the New York Times in 1901 mentioned the church among other Catholic structures in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, describing the group "for the most part...limit[ing] themselves to the functions of a parish church, in districts where social needs are otherwise supplied."The AIA Guide to New York City describes the church as “An ashlar church in the tradition of the others nearby, which antedate 1850. This one conducts services in three languages: English, Spanish and Chinese.”

Foley Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Manhattan, New York City, owned by Michael Foley. Since opening in 2004, Foley Gallery has moved from the Chelsea neighborhood to the Lower East Side in 2014. Among the artists Foley represents are Joseph Desler Costa, Wyatt Gallery, Sage Sohier, Martin Klimas, Simon Schubert, Henry Leutwyler and Ina Jang. Foley has previously shown work by Rosalind Solomon, Polixeni Papapetrou, Rachell Sumpter and Hank Willis Thomas.
