Skejby

Vestereng is a nature site in the environs of northern Aarhus and the suburb of Skejby. The name literally translates as 'westward meadow'. The Municipality of Aarhus took ownership in 1939.The area has a lively history of recent times and is now used extensively by several civil groups and organizations. The most prevalent groups as of 2013, being Aarhus Beach Volley Club, the roleplaying club Einherjerne, Aarhus Dirt Jump Park and Aarhus civil dog handling Association.

Skejby Sygehus or Aarhus University Hospital, Skejby, was a university hospital in Aarhus, Denmark from 1988 to 2018. In 2011, Skejby Sygehus became part of Aarhus University Hospital. In 2012, construction of "Det Nye Universitetshospital" (The New University Hospital), or DNU for short, a new large headquarter complex for Aarhus University Hospital, commenced. The new hospital complex is situated adjacent to Skejby Sygehus, and at the completion, Skejby Sygehus was fused with DNU in late 2018.

Skejby Church (Danish: Skejby Kirke) is a church in Skejby Parish in Aarhus, Denmark. The parish lies in Aarhus N three kilometers north-west of Aarhus city centre on the outskirts of the urban area. The parish has 816 inhabitants of which 655 are members of the Church of Denmark.

Danish School of Media and Journalism (Danish: Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole), or DMJX for short, is a Danish organization for higher education in, and a knowledge centre of, media and journalism. DMJX has two campuses; one in Copenhagen and one in Aarhus. In 2004, DMJX and Aarhus University established the Centre for University Studies in Journalism, which offers master's courses at university level.

Aarhus Tech (until 2011 Aarhus Tekniske Skole) is a technical school in Aarhus, which provides secondary education and vocational education.Aarhus Tech offers degrees in 34 disciplines in vocational studies, from masonry and welding to clothing design and cooking. The annual budget is DKK 410 mio. and the school employs 650 people. It is managed as a private institution. The school comprises buildings on three separate sites in Aarhus, but the main campus is located on Christiansbjerg in Business Park Skejby, Aarhus N.

Randersvej Water Tower (Danish: Vandtårnet på Randersvej) is a former water tower on Randersvej in Aarhus, Denmark. It is listed for preservation.

Marienlyst Park (Danish: Marienlystparken) is a public park in Hasle in the Aarhus V district, north-west Aarhus, Denmark. The park is situated west of the Herredsvang neighborhood along the street Fjældevænget Busvej to the south and Brendstrup Forest to the west. Marienlyst Park is one of the largest parks in Aarhus and features both landscaped lawns and artificial forested hills. Facilities include an amphitheatre, soccer fields, playgrounds and a 6-hole golf course. Marienlyst Park was established in connection with the development of western Hasle in the 1970s and today forms part of a green corridor extending from Vestereng to Brabrand Lake. The park is owned by Aarhus Municipality and is managed by the municipal department Natur og Miljø (Nature and Environment). Marienlyst Park can be rented for public events.The largest areas in Marienlyst Park are landscaped and managed, such as grass lawns and soccer fields, but there are some areas intentionally left to grow wilder. Artificial hills have been created from surplus soil from construction projects and are now left to grow as small managed forests. The park includes two marked running tracks of 1500 and 3000 meters. In addition Marienlyst Golf Club maintains a 6-hole short-golf course, accessible through an introductory course in the club.

Christians's Church (Danish: Christianskirken) is a church in Aarhus, Denmark. The church is situated in the northern Christiansbjerg neighbourhood on Frederikshaldsgade. It is a parish church, and the only church in Christians Parish, under the Diocese of Aarhus and within the Church of Denmark, the Danish state church. The church serves some 14.000 parishioners in Christians Parish and holds weekly sermons along with weddings, burials and baptisms.The present Christians's Church was inaugurated on 2 March, 1958. The congregation in Christiansbjerg had for some years made do with a crypt, built during the Second World War, which had doubled as a temporary church. The crypt church replaced an older Christian's Church which had been in use since 1913 to 1946. The old church was found too small with just 90 seats, and an architects' contest was established in 1937 to find a design for a new church. The contest was won by Aage C. Nielsen. A committee led by the bishop of the Diocese of Aarhus started raising funds for the new church but war and occupation delayed the project. The funds were used to build the crypt church which had to double as a church until the 1950s.Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs Bodil Koch made the project a priority and construction on the new church began in 1957. The resulting church was characteristic with sharp lines and a hexagonal church tower. The porch is low and leads into a large, tall church room which can seat 500 people. The church room stretches to the roof with the aid of buttresses which gives the otherwise modernistic church a gothic element. The south wall is one large window which is the main source of light. The church exterior is made of red brick.

Skirmish of Århus or Rytterfægtningen on 31 May 1849 was a skirmish during the First Schleswig War between Denmark and Prussia under the German Confederation, a few kilometers north of the city of Aarhus, Denmark. The skirmish was a Danish victory that had the effect of stopping the Prussian advance through the peninsula of Jutland at the city of Aarhus.

Aarhus Vest (lit.: Aarhus West) or Aarhus V, is a postal district in the city of Aarhus, consisting of Hasle, Herredsvang, Møllevangen and Frydenlund.
