Ying Tung Natatorium

The Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium (simplified Chinese: 奥体中心体育馆; traditional Chinese: 奧體中心體育館; pinyin: Ào Tǐ Zhōngxīn Tǐyùguǎn) is an indoor arena next to the Olympic Sports Center Stadium at the southern part of the Olympic Green in Beijing, China. It was reformed for the 2008 Summer Olympics where it hosted the handball tournaments up to and including the quarter-finals, after which they moved to the larger Beijing National Indoor Stadium. Following the handball competitions, the 2008 Beijing Wushu Tournament took place at the venue. It has a seating capacity of 7,000 expanded from the original 6,000 and a floor space of 47,410 square meters from the current 43,000. Three handball training courts were put to use in 2008. The renovation was complete in August 2007.

Aoti Zhongxin (Olympic Sports Center) station (simplified Chinese: 奥体中心站; traditional Chinese: 奧體中心站; pinyin: Àotǐ Zhōngxīn zhàn) is a station on Line 8 of the Beijing Subway. It is the nearest station to the National Olympic Sports Center, and is therefore decorated with sports elements.

The National Olympic Sports Centre (Chinese: 国家奥林匹克体育中心; pinyin: Guójiā Àolínpǐkè Tǐyù Zhōngxīn) or Olympic Sports Center Stadium (simplified Chinese: 奥体中心体育场; traditional Chinese: 奧體中心體育場; pinyin: Àotǐ Zhōngxīn Tǐyùchǎng) is a multi-purpose stadium in Chaoyang District, Beijing, China. It is currently used mostly for soccer matches. It was constructed in 1986 for the 1990 Asian Games. The complex contains the main stadium, an indoor arena, a hockey field, and a natatorium. It was renovated to host the 2008 Summer Olympics, where it hosted soccer matches and the running and riding parts of the modern pentathlon events. For the riding discipline, the soccer field at the core of the venue has been turned into a high-standard temporary equestrian field. The renovation also added four pavilion-styled rotating rampways around the stadium. The stadium has a floor space of 34,975 m2 (376,470 sq ft), which exceeds the original building area of 20,000 m2 (220,000 sq ft). Its capacity has doubled after the renovation, from about 18,000 to 36,228.

V-Continent Beijing Parkview Wuzhou Hotel is a hotel in Beijing, China. The predecessor of the hotel was the Crowne Plaza Beijing Wuzhou. On October 20, 2013, the 10-year management contract between Beijing Beichen Industrial Co., Ltd. and InterContinental Hotel Group expired. On October 21, 2013, Crowne Plaza Beijing Wuzhou changed its name to Crown International Hotel Beijing Wuzhou, which means that the owner of the hotel, Beijing Beichen Industrial Co., Ltd., will independently manage the hotel. During the 2014 China APEC Summit, the hotel was one of the hotels recommended by the host to journalists.

The China Ethnic Museum (中华民族博物馆; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Mínzú Bówùguǎn; also called Chinese Ethnic Culture Park, 中华民族园; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Mínzú Yuán) is a museum in Beijing, China, located just to the west of the Olympic Green. It features displays of the daily life and architecture of China's 56 ethnic groups. As stated on its website, the museum's goals are as follows: To demonstrate ethnic architecture To preserve ethnic relics To spread ethnic knowledge To study ethnic heritage To enhance ethnic culture To promote unity of all Chinese ethnic groupsConstruction began in October 1992. The North Section was opened to the public on June 18, 1994, and the South Section was opened in September 2001. Construction has continued through the 2008 Summer Olympics. The museum covers approximately 50 hectares and so far comprises 44 ethnic villages and 200 ethnic buildings. There are 800 staff members comprising various Chinese ethnic groups. All buildings are constructed to a ratio of 1:1. At the museum, several ethnic groups grow traditional crops such as paddy rice or buckwheat, and each day Tibetan lamas from the Tar Monastery of Qinghai chant Buddhist sutras. The museum has also collected approximately 100,000 cultural relics, and exhibits items representing the daily life of China's ethnic groups. The museum's curator is Wang Ping.

Yayuncun Subdistrict (simplified Chinese: 亚运村; traditional Chinese: 亞運村; pinyin: Yàyùncūn), or Asian Games Village Subdistrict, is the site of the 1990 Asian Games, a major residential area and a subdistrict of the Chaoyang District of Beijing.

The 2008 Summer Olympics closing ceremony was held at the Beijing National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest. It was directed by Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou and began at 20:00 China Standard Time (UTC+8) on Sunday night, 24 August 2008. The number 8 is associated with prosperity and confidence in Chinese culture. The musical acts included Plácido Domingo and Song Zuying singing The Flame of Love (lyrics by writers Song Xiaoming and Yuan Yuan) Wei Wei and Sun Nan singing Beijing Beijing (wo ai Beijing). Leona Lewis, Jimmy Page (with David Beckham making an appearance), Elspeth Hanson as the violinist and Kwesi Edman as the cellist. Andy Lau, Emil Chau, Jackie Chan, Karen Mok, Kelly Chen, Joey Yung and Nicolas Tse. Wang Lee Hom, Stefanie Sun and Rain. Han Hong Klaus Badelt wrote the music for the closing ceremonies.The Ceremony also included the handover of the games from Beijing to London. Guo Jinlong, the Mayor of Beijing, handed over the Olympic flag to the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. There was also a performance organized by the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG). While the opening ceremony was described as an artistic and serious introduction of China's ancient past, the closing ceremony was described by Western media as "much more lighthearted", "silly" and "fun" than the opening ceremony.By the end of the 16 days of NBC's coverage of the Beijing Olympics in the United States, it had also become the most-watched U.S. television event of all time, with over 211 million American viewers tuned into the Olympics on NBC according to the Nielsen Media Research; this is 2 million more than the 1996 Atlanta Games, the previous all-time record-holder.

The opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Paralympics took place on 4 March 2022 at the Beijing National Stadium (also known as "Bird's Nest") in Beijing, China. The Games were opened by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and President of China.

The opening ceremony was directed by film director and producer Zhang Yimou, who has previously directed the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics, which was China's first time hosting the Olympics. The world's largest LED screen (10,552 square metres (113,580 sq ft) and uses 40,000 LED modules) was unveiled at the opening ceremony.The ceremony was also marked by diplomatic boycotts from certain countries among other concerns and controversies.

The National Stadium (国家体育场), a.k.a Bird's Nest (鸟巢), is a stadium at Olympic Green in Chaoyang, Beijing, China. The National Stadium, covering an area of 204,000 square meters with 91,000 capacity, broke ground in December 2003, officially started construction in March 2004, and was completed in June 2008.The National Stadium is owned and operated by a public–private partnership company between Beijing Municipal State-owned Assets Management Co Ltd (58%) and CITIC Group (42%).The stadium was designed for the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. It was also used during the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.
