Walsall was a rural district in Staffordshire, England from 1894 to 1934. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on Walsall rural sanitary district, and included the five parishes of Aldridge, Bentley, Great Barr, Pelsall and Rushall. Four of these parishes were to the east of Walsall, and Bentley was to the west, forming an exclave. It was subject to increased urban development in the early 20th century and was abolished in 1934 under a County Review Order. The parish of Bentley was split between the urban district of Darlaston and the parish of Short Heath (which itself was becoming part of the Willenhall urban district), while the rest of the rural district became the Aldridge urban district, and since 1974 has formed part of the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall in the metropolitan county of West Midlands.

St. Mary's Church is the parish church of Aldridge, a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, England. It is operated by the Church of England. The church is grade-II* listed. Records show that it was built before 1257. Other than the 14th-century tower, all the exterior walls were added or rebuilt between the years 1841–1853. A south vestry was added in 1975. Between 1991 and 1995, the pews and choir stalls were removed.The church has two medieval effigies, of Sir Robert de Stapleton (active c. 1282–1301), lord of the Manor of Great Barr and Aldridge; and of a 14th-century priest, possibly Roger de Elyngton.The church's historic records are held at Staffordshire Record Office.Aldridge's war memorial stands on the green next to the church. The current Rector is the Revd Steve Doel. A 1955 painting of the church by the then Rector, the Rev Ronald William Cartmel, is in the collection of The New Art Gallery Walsall.

Aldridge-Brownhills was an urban district in Staffordshire, England from 1966 to 1974. The district was formed in accordance with a recommendation of the Local Government Commission for England on 1 April 1966. It was created by the amalgamation of the Aldridge and Brownhills urban districts, along with part of Lichfield Rural District, and small parts of the county boroughs of Birmingham and Walsall and the municipal borough of Sutton Coldfield.The urban district had a short existence, as it was abolished in 1974. In that year the Local Government Act 1972 reorganised local administration throughout England and Wales, and Aldridge-Brownhills became part of the new Metropolitan Borough of Walsall. There is still an Aldridge-Brownhills parliamentary constituency.

Aldridge is an industrial town in the Walsall borough, West Midlands, England. It is historically a village that was part of Staffordshire until 1974. The town is 3 miles (4.8 km) from Brownhills, 5 miles (8 km) from Walsall, 6 miles (9.7 km) from Sutton Coldfield and 7 miles (11 km) from Lichfield. The town is also the second-largest town in the Walsall Borough (By population after Walsall).

Aldridge railway station is a disused station on the Midland Railway in England. It was opened in 1879 and closed in 1965, although the track through the station is still in use for freight.

Aldridge School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Aldridge, in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall in the West Midlands, England. The school is recognised as a Science College. The current head is Mr. Worth.

Aldridge Transport Museum, home to the Aston Manor Road Transport Museum's collection of vehicles is an independent transport museum in Aldridge, Walsall, England. Until December 2011 the museum occupied the former Birmingham Corporation Tramways Witton Tram Depot, in the Aston district of Birmingham, run by a registered charity. The museum hosted the 40th birthday party of Charles, Prince of Wales, on 14 November 1988, when he formally opened the museum. Following a decision by Birmingham City Council to cease funding the rent on the Witton Tram Depot, it closed in October 2011. Between then and December that year, the collection was moved to the Beecham Business Park, home to the former Jack Allen dustcart assembly plant, in nearby Aldridge. Subsequently the museum moved again, this time a short distance within Aldridge, to its present location in Shenstone Drive, Aldridge, where it opened to the public in July 2013. Since reopening, the museum has retained its bus collection but also added an increased number of light commercial vehicles on display. The museum, which is operated entirely by volunteers, is open on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 to 16:00 throughout the year excluding the Christmas Holiday period. On a number of weekends throughout the year there are special events with a free bus service from Walsall (Hatherton Street) to the museum and back using classic buses. The museum's Classic buses also run free of charge on certain event days to the Chasewater Railway, Lichfield, and around Barr Beacon. The vehicles displayed in the museum are changed over with those which are in safe storeage off site giving variety to the exhibits on display at any one time.

Aldridge-Brownhills () is a constituency in the West Midlands, represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2015 by Wendy Morton, a Conservative.

Hay Head Quarry (grid reference SP048987) is a 5.8 hectare (14.3 acre) geological site of Special Scientific Interest in the West Midlands. The site was notified in 1986 under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and is currently managed by the Country Trust.

Barr Beacon Reservoir is a covered, hill-top drinking water reservoir at Barr Beacon, Walsall, England, opened in 1899. It is operated by South Staffs Water.One of the uses of the reservoir is to transfer water from the company's works at Hampton Loade, on the River Severn, to Burton upon Trent. Water is pumped uphill from the Sedgley Beacon Reservoirs, which receive water from Hampton Loade, through 45-inch (110 cm) mains to Barr Beacon Reservoir via West Bromwich Booster. A 36-inch (91 cm) main then carries water by gravity via Seedy Mill works to Burton on Trent.The water company also operates a weather station, one of several in its network, at the reservoir, to monitor temperature, hours of sunshine, and rainfall.The reservoir was re-roofed in 1969, temporarily exposing the brick arches which support the roof.In August 2013, Severn Trent Water launched a £2 million project to build a 2 1/2 mile pipeline linking their Perry Barr Reservoir to Barr Beacon Reservoir, to allow for the exchange of water in emergencies such as severe droughts.

Walsall Aerodrome, also known as Walsall Airport, Walsall Municipal Airport, and later as Walsall Aldridge Airport was an airport at Aldridge, Staffordshire, England, serving the town of Walsall, north Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield (Aldridge is now part of Walsall, and in the West Midlands county). It operated from the 1930s–1956.

Barr Beacon is a hill on the edge of Walsall, West Midlands, England, very near the border with Birmingham. It gives its name to nearby Great Barr (the Beacon borders the Pheasey area of Great Barr) and to the local secondary school Barr Beacon School. It is historically the site of a beacon where fires were lit in times of impending attack or on celebratory occasions. The site is on green belt land and is of local importance for nature conservation, as defined by Walsall Borough Council, who have designated some 60 acres (25 ha) of it as a Local Nature Reserve.
