Shenandoah is a city in Montgomery County, Texas, United States. Its population was 3,499 at the 2020 census. It is the hometown of David Vetter, the famous "boy in the plastic bubble". In 1986, the Shenandoah city council renamed Tamina School Road to David Memorial Drive in honor of Vetter.

Tamina is an unincorporated community in southern Montgomery County, Texas, United States. Tamina is located along the Missouri Pacific line, located 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Interstate 45 and 8.5 miles (13.7 km) south of the city of Conroe. James H. Berry promoted the community and named it after Tammany Hall, New York City. The letter writer submitting the name to the postal department spelled the name "Tamina." The name is pronounced "Tammany" by some of the community's older residents.

Oak Ridge High School is a secondary school in unincorporated Montgomery County, Texas, near Conroe, and within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Shenandoah. Built in 1981, Oak Ridge High School is classified as a 6A school in the Conroe Independent School District. In 2021–2022, the school received a B grade from the Texas Education Agency. The school serves: the city of Oak Ridge North, portions of the City of Shenandoah, the town of Woodloch, and the unincorporated communities of Imperial Oaks and Tamina. It also includes the former city of Chateau Woods. The school has two campuses: The main campus for students in grades 10–12 and a 9th grade campus on an adjacent property.Oak Ridge High School housed the Conroe ISD Academy of Science and Technology, a science and technology based magnet program, from 1987 until the end of the 2007 school year when the program was transferred to The Woodlands College Park High School. The Academy for Careers in Engineering and Science, which opened in 2018–2019, operates inside the Oak Ridge 9th grade campus. Oak Ridge also supports an Air Force JROTC program.

The Woodlands Mall is a two-story, enclosed shopping mall located at the intersection of Interstate 45 and Lake Woodlands Drive in the community of The Woodlands in unincorporated Montgomery County, Texas, United States, north of Houston. The Woodlands Mall features six anchor stores: Dick's Sporting Goods, Dillard's, Forever 21, JCPenney, Macy's, and Nordstrom. With a gross leasable area of 1,350,000 square feet (125,000 m2), The Woodlands Mall is considered a super-regional mall by industry definitions. The Woodlands Mall is managed by Brookfield Properties.

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, located in The Woodlands, Texas (north suburban Houston), is one of seven community hospitals that are part of Houston Methodist. It employs more than 900 people, has an estimated 600 affiliated doctors and admits more than 2,800 patients annually. The hospital serves communities in and around The Woodlands.

Hackett Tower, also known as Anadarko Tower II, is a 31-story 408 feet (124.36 m) skyscraper located in The Woodlands, Texas. It is currently the second tallest building in Montgomery County, Texas, after Allison Tower. It is certified under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.

Allison Tower, formerly Anadarko Tower, is a 32-story, 439 feet (133.81 m) skyscraper located in The Woodlands, Texas. It is currently the tallest building in Montgomery County, Texas and the tallest building between Houston and Dallas. It also was the first office complex in The Woodlands, Texas to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council as verification that the facility meets the highest green building and performance measures. The Anadarko Tower also has earned the Energy Star Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its savings on energy consumption.

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, sometimes called The Woodlands Pavilion or simply The Pavilion, is a concert amphitheatre located in The Woodlands, Texas, an outer suburb of Houston, Texas. It caters to both the performing arts and contemporary artists and is also available for rental. It is owned and operated by The Center for the Performing Arts at The Woodlands and is a non-profit organization. In March 2014, Huntsman signed a five year contract to be the pavilion's presenting sponsor. The amphitheatre seats 16,500 people and has been the second-most heavily used amphitheater in the world. The venue features 6,500 covered seats and up to 10,000 uncovered lawn capacity.

Oak Ridge North (commonly referred to as Oak Ridge) is a city in Montgomery County, Texas, United States. It is located along Interstate 45 10 miles (16 km) south of Conroe and 35 miles north of Houston. The population was 3,057 at the 2020 census.

The Woodlands College Park High School is a high school in The Woodlands, CDP area of Montgomery County, Texas in the United States. It is operated by the Conroe Independent School District (CISD), and is one of the six main high schools in the district. Opened in the fall of 2005, it enrolls students from grades 9 to 12. The school operates on a seven period day and in some cases, offers zero and eighth hour periods before and after school, respectively. College Park is also home to the Conroe ISD Academy of Science and Technology, a science and technology based magnet program. In addition to sections of The Woodlands, it serves portions of Shenandoah.

The Conroe Independent School District's Academy of Science and Technology, located in The Woodlands, Texas is a magnet school in science and technology; it is also a member of the National Consortium of Specialized STEM Schools (NCSSS). It was founded at Oak Ridge High School in 1987 with the first graduates in 1991. The AST relocated to The Woodlands College Park High School in stages from 2005 to 2007. The first Headmaster in 1991 was Dr. Ron Laugen, who came from the Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley. He was succeeded in 2007 by Dr. Susan Caffery, who served until 2023. The third Headmaster is Dr. Debra Creel. Math, science, and electives in these areas are taught mainly only to students from the Academy. All other courses are taken with the high school along with students who are not in the magnet program. Candidates are accepted by the Academy of Science and Technology following application, testing, and essay reviewing. Some candidates are interviewed by two faculty members before being accepted. For each class, 65 students are initially accepted, and ten are wait-listed. The size of each class at a given time is between 65 and 77 students. There are approximately 280 students in the Academy, selected from College Park High School, the Woodlands High School and Oak Ridge High School attendance zones.

Lone Star College–Montgomery (formerly Montgomery College or MC) is a community college in The Woodlands, Texas. It was founded in 1992 and is part of the Lone Star College System, serving the Montgomery County area. The school enrolled just over 9,200 credit students in the fall 2007 semester and is the only Lone Star College System college to offer biotechnology, physical therapist assistant, human services and land surveying degrees. The current campus was dedicated August 14, 1995, by then-Governor George W. Bush.
