Svendborgsund

The Svendborg Sound Bridge (Svendborgsundbroen) is a bridge that crosses Svendborg Sound between the town of Svendborg on Fyn and Vindeby on the island of Tåsinge in Denmark. It is on the road to the island of Langeland. The bridge is 1220 metres long, the longest span is 90 metres, and the maximum clearance to the sea is 33 metres. Svendborg Sound Bridge was opened by Princess Margrethe on 18 November 1966. The bridge cost 25 million kroner.

Svendborg (Danish: [ˈsvenˌpɒˀ] ) is a town on the island of Funen in south-central Denmark, and the seat of Svendborg Municipality. With a population of 27,594 (1 January 2023), Svendborg is Funen's second largest city. In 2000 Svendborg was declared "Town of the year" in Denmark, and in 2003 it celebrated its 750th anniversary as a market town. By road, Svendborg is located 195 kilometres (121 mi) southwest of Copenhagen, 183 kilometres (114 mi) south of Aarhus, 44.2 kilometres (27.5 mi) south of Odense, and 28.5 kilometres (17.7 mi) east of Faaborg. Svendborg is home to "Danmarks Forsorgsmuseum" social history museum and "Naturama" natural history museum. The latter holds a wide variety of taxidermy from whales and bears to birds and Foxes. The largest container ship company in the world, A.P. Møller-Mærsk has its origins in Svendborg, in the "Villa Anna".

Bregninge is a village on the island of Tåsinge in south-central Denmark, in Svendborg Municipality.

Høje Bøge Stadium (Danish: [ˈhʌjə ˈpøːjə]) is an association football stadium in Svendborg, Denmark. It is the home stadium of Danish 2nd Division club SfB-Oure FA. It has a capacity of 7,000, but the attendance record is 8,000 which happened in 1975 in a local matchup against Odense Boldklub in the second tier of the Danish football league system.The stadium is the historic home ground of Svendborg fB (SfB), and since its superstructures: FC Svendborg, founded in 2008 and dissolved in 2017, as well as the merger team of SfB and Oure Fodbold Akademi (Oure FA): SfB Oure FA. The latter started using Høje Bøge as their home ground prior to the 2019–20 Denmark Series season, after moving from the pitches at Hellegårdsvej / Tipsvænget.

Anne Hvide's House (Danish: Anne Hvides Gård) is a two-storey, half-timbered building in Svendborg on the Danish island of Funen. One of the oldest houses in the town, it was built in 1560 by Anne Hvide, a widow of noble descent. It was used as an inn from 1837 to 1867. After being restored in 1916, it became a museum with exhibitions relating to the history of Svendborg.

Svendborg railway station (Danish: Svendborg Banegård og Svendborg Station) is the principal railway station serving the town of Svendborg on the island of Funen, Denmark. The station was built in 1876 for the opening of Svendborgbanen July 12, 1876. The main building is designed by N. P. C. Holsøe. The building was opened July 10, 1878. The station building contains a DSB kiosk and a DSB travel agency. The kiosk has since been converted to a 7-Eleven store. DSB tickets are available for purchase in the 7-Eleven store. There also is a Fynbus customer service center that sells bus passes. The station contains an indoor waiting area, however the travel agency no longer is in operation. The Fynbus local city bus stop is located on the street side of the station, and the regional bus station is located on the opposite side of the tracks.

Vindeby is a town on the island of Tåsinge in south-central Denmark, in Svendborg Municipality. It lies on the north coast of Tåsinge, across from Svendborg on the Funen side, to which it is connected by the Svendborgsund Bridge.

Frederiksø is a small island in the port of Svendborg, Denmark, which until 2001 housed Svendborg Skibsværft.

Svendborg Gymnasium & HF is a gymnasium in Svendborg, Denmark. It is one of the largest upper secondary schools in Denmark with approximately 1,200 students and 120 teachers. The gymnasium offers a General Upper Secondary Education (STX) program and a Higher Preparatory Examination (HF) program.

Troense is a town on the island of Tåsinge in south-central Denmark, in Svendborg Municipality.

Tåsinge (Danish: [ˈtsʰɔːˌse̝ŋə] ) is a Danish island immediately south of Funen, opposite and facing Svendborg, divided from Funen by Svendborgsund. The island covers an area of circa 70 km2 (27 sq mi). It is part of the South Funen Archipelago and has 6,111 inhabitants. The Danish national road 9 crosses the island. Until the municipality reform of 1970, the island retained its own municipality (sognekommune). Since 1970, it has been part of Svendborg Municipality. Before the 1960s, when the island became connected to Funen via the Svendborgsund Bridge and to Langeland via the Langeland Bridge, it was served by ferries from Svendborg to Vindeby and from Vemmenæs to Rudkøbing respectively.Until 2011 the public schools on the island consisted of two separate entities, Lundby Skole and Sundhøjskolen, but in 2011 they were merged into a single structure called Tåsingeskolen with close to 800 pupils, by far the largest school in the entire municipality.The inhabitants of the island refer to themselves as Tøsinger. The local dialect called tåsingsk is still in use on the island, though not as common as in the past.

Strammelse is a village on the island of Tåsinge in south-central Denmark, in Svendborg Municipality.
