Fire Hall (Joliet, Montana)

The Southern Hotel, on Main St. in Joliet, Montana, was built in 1906. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is a two-story brick building, with brick laid in common bond, upon an irregular sandstone ashlar foundation. It is one of the most significant buildings in the town. It was the first hotel in town, and helped in the development of the town as a center of an agricultural area. It was built for Luther S. Smith by contractors Wenzel & Marshall, of Bear Creek, Montana. A block on the building reads "19 SMITH 06".

Baker and Lovering Store is a site on the National Register of Historic Places located in Joliet, Montana. It was added to the Register on May 2, 1986. It was also known as Lovering and Smith. It was the first brick building in Joliet and served as the only primary mercantile business in Joliet until 1929. The store was originally owned by G.A. Lovering and C.W. Baker. Baker sold his half of the business to T.W. Smith in 1907.

The Rock Creek State Bank, on Main St. in Joliet, Montana, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.It was built as a bank during 1906-07 for the Joliet Bank, which was organized in 1904. In 1985, it was a lodge hall for the Rebekah Lodge.

The Joliet Bridge, in Carbon County, Montana, near Joliet, is a Pratt through truss bridge built in 1901. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.It is a multiple-span road bridge. The main span is a pin-connected steel Pratt truss, about 129 feet (39 m) long, resting on concrete abutments and cylindrical piers. On the south end, there are approach spans made of wood stringers (horizontal timbers) supported by timber pile bents; these replaced an original pony truss approach span. The deck is made of wood bridge planks, covered with asphalt.It was designed and built by William S. Hewett, a bridge builder based in Minneapolis, who was low bidder on the contract for the main bridge, at $4,500, and also for an approach span, at $750, which had to be added, perhaps because the original measurements or specifications were not adequate.The bridge carries Main Street road over Rock Creek, south of the town.

Montaqua is a census-designated place (CDP) in Carbon County, Montana, United States. It is in the northern part of the county, along U.S. Route 212, which leads northeast 15 miles (24 km) to Laurel and southwest 30 miles (48 km) to Red Lodge. Montaqua is on the north side of Rock Creek, a northeast-flowing tributary of the Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. The community is bordered to the northeast by Rockvale. Montaqua was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Gebo Cemetery, in Carbon County, Montana near Fromberg, Montana, was established in 1899 to serve the coal mining town of Gebo, Montana, which had population of 500 to 1,000 in the early 1900s, but was virtually abandoned after the Gebo Mine ceased operation in 1912. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.It is located about 1 mile (1.6 km) north-northwest of Fromberg, on a County road linking Fromberg and Gebo, Montana. The coal mining town of Gebo was about .5 miles (0.80 km) east.The cemetery has about 200 graves. It "is on a gentle slope overgrown with sagebrush, sparse grasses and thistle. This location affords a dramatic and panoramic view of the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River Valley to the east and town of Fromberg to the southeast. Steep sandstone cliffs rise to the west. The square plot includes 3.25 acres of land and is encompassed by a wire and post fence; an ornate wire gate set between tall metal trusses is on the west. A 2.09 acre plot was added to the historic cemetery in 1963, but this area has yet to be used as a burial site."It includes three iron crosses, which were "grave markers associated with German-Russian Catholics who emigrated from the Black Sea region of Russia. The most distinguished of these is an iron cross with tracery and metal wording in German. It marks the grave of German immigrant Adam Heiser who died in 1916. Three other plots have concrete headstones embedded with bits of colored glass; at least two of these are also associated with German-Russian immigrants."

Boyd is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Carbon County, Montana, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 35. Boyd was a stop on the Northern Pacific Railway en route to Red Lodge. A post office was first established at Boyd on March 12, 1909 with Roland N. Doughty as the town's first postmaster. Since December 3, 1965, the office has operated as a rural station or a CPO of Roberts with the ZIP code of 59013. As a station for the Northern Pacific Railway, Boyd prospered. Once travel by automobile became common, the town's economy declined.Situated on U.S. Route 212, Boyd is about 21 miles from Red Lodge. The turnoff to Cooney Reservoir is in town.

Rockvale is an unincorporated community in Carbon County, Montana, United States. It is currently the site of a bar and casino, and some homes. Little remains of the original town site except the nearby cemetery. It at the intersection of U.S. Route 212 and Montana Secondary Highway 310. Rock Creek runs south of town.

Edgar is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Carbon County, Montana, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 114. Edgar has a post office with a ZIP code 59026. The post office was established May 28, 1909 with John J. Thornton as its first postmaster. Thornton named the town after his brother.Edgar lies east of the intersection of U.S. Route 310 and Elwell Street. Edgar is south of Rockvale and northeast of Fromberg. Edgar is a small, agricultural community with a number of silos and elevators. It is also home to a bar & grill restaurant and some other services.

Park City is a census-designated place (CDP) in Stillwater County, Montana, United States. The population was 870 at the 2000 census. Located 20 miles from the state's largest city, Billings, Park City has a small town atmosphere. It is not incorporated, therefore does not have a mayor or any other "city" legislative positions. The town serves as a bedroom community for the neighboring cities of Laurel and Billings. Most inhabitants are employed in either of those two towns. It is mainly a farming community, growing mostly sugar beets and corn. The town has a library, school, fire department, two gas stations/convenience stores, three churches of different denominations as well as two bars. Most of the historical buildings are made of sandstone, due to the large sandstone cliffs to the north of the town. A post office was opened under the name Young’s Point in 1878. In 1882 a group of settler's arrived and named the area Park City.

Silesia is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Carbon County, Montana, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 96. Clarks Fork Yellowstone River flows to the east of town. It is about 10 miles from Laurel.
