Curraghbinny (Irish: Corra Binne), also sometimes spelled Currabinny or Currabinney, is a townland in County Cork, Ireland. Located on Cork Harbour near Ringaskiddy and with an area of 2.4 square kilometres (240 ha), it is a townland in the barony of Kerrycurrihy. As of the 2011 census, Curraghbinny townland had a population of 155 people.Lough Beg Bird Reserve and Curraghbinny Wood are located in the area. Curraghbinny Wood, a forested amenity of approximately 35 hectares (86 acres), contains the remains of a Bronze Age cairn which is known locally as the "giant's grave". The cairn, which was subject to excavation in the 1930s (during which cremated human remains and a bronze ring were found), was restored in the 1990s. There is a plaque to the Irish-Canadian politician, William Warren Baldwin, within the wood.There is a large pharmaceutical manufacturing plant, which was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific from GlaxoSmithKline for €90m in 2019, in Curraghbinny townland.

Holy Trinity Church, Templebreedy is a parish church of the Church of Ireland close to Crosshaven, in County Cork, Ireland. It was designed by William Burges, who also designed Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral. The building opened in 1868 and remains an active parish church.

Crosshaven (Irish: Bun an Tábhairne) is a village in County Cork, Ireland. It is located in lower Cork Harbour at the mouth of the River Owenabue, across from Currabinny Wood. Originally a fishing village, from the 19th century, the economy of the area became more reliant on a growing tourism industry.

Myrtleville (Irish: Baile an Chuainín, meaning 'town of the small harbour') is a small seaside village in County Cork, Ireland. 18th and 19th century records of the local estate houses associate Myrtleville House with the Daunt family. The village lies within the townlands of Ballinluska and Myrtleville, just west of the entrance to Cork Harbour.Myrtleville has one grocery shop, a pub/music venue, and a restaurant/bar. Crosshaven rugby club has its sports ground at the top of Myrtleville hill. The beach is used by swimmers all year round.

Fort Templebreedy (Irish: Dún Theampall Bríde), also known as Templebreedy Battery, was a coastal defence fortification close to Crosshaven, in County Cork, Ireland. Supplementing a number of earlier structures at Fort Camden and Fort Davis, the site was developed between 1904 and 1909 to defend the mouth of Cork Harbour. Used as a coastal artillery position until the 1940s, and as a military training camp until the late 20th century, many of the structures of the 37-acre site were dismantled over time, and part of the complex used as a pitch and putt course. In 2009, Cork County Council added the site to a proposed list of protected structures – though as of 2020 it remains in the ownership of the Department of Defence.

Camden Fort Meagher is a coastal defence fortification close to Crosshaven, County Cork, Ireland. Together with similar structures at Fort Mitchell (Spike Island), Fort Davis (Whitegate), and Templebreedy Battery (also close to Crosshaven), the fort was built to defend the mouth of Cork Harbour. Though originally constructed in the 16th century, the current structures of the fort date to the 1860s. Originally named Fort Camden and operated by the British Armed Forces, the fort (along with other Treaty Port installations) was handed-over to the Irish Defence Forces in 1938. Renamed Fort Meagher in honour of Thomas Francis Meagher, it remained an Irish military installation until 1989 when the Irish Army handed the fort over to Cork County Council. It remained largely overgrown until 2010 when a group of local volunteers began restoration and development of the fort for heritage and tourism purposes. The fort was renamed Camden Fort Meagher and is now open seasonally to visitors, with exhibits on the fort's Brennan torpedo installation (the world's first "practical guided weapon").

The Naval College is the principal naval military college in Ireland providing training to cadets, non-commissioned officers and recruits of the Irish Naval Service. The Naval College trains and educates personnel for service, providing a mixture of different courses ranging from officer training right through to naval engineering. The Naval College is based out of the Naval Service's headquarters at Naval Base Haulbowline but also provides classes and lessons in non-military naval training at the nearby National Maritime College of Ireland in Ringaskiddy.

The National Maritime College of Ireland (Irish: Coláiste Náisiúnta Mara na hÉireann, NMCI) is a public maritime college located in Ringaskiddy, County Cork, Ireland. It is a constituent college of the Munster Technological University. Founded in 2004, it is situated on former Department of Defence land aside the Haulbowline naval base, the headquarters of the Irish Naval Service. It is the first dedicated maritime college of its kind in the State, and was built under the Irish Government's Public-Private Partnership scheme, involving the Munster Technological University (formerly, Cork Institute of Technology), the Naval Service and a number of other partners. The Irish Naval Service and other Defence Forces personnel carry out non-combat training at the National Maritime College of Ireland, with a permanent Naval Service cadre present on site to assist in the carrying out of this training.

Fountainstown (Irish: Baile Mhóntáin, historically anglicised as Ballymontane) is a coastal village in County Cork, Ireland, situated approximately 23 km south of Cork city. A seaside village, it is separated by small promontory headland from the nearby village and beach at Myrtleville.

East Cork lies in south-west Ireland, in Ireland's largest county, County Cork. The term "East Cork" is used in tourism, sporting and other contexts, and is the name given to one of eight municipal districts of Cork County Council.East Cork contains one of the world's largest natural harbours, Cork Harbour. Fota Island (including Fota House and Gardens and Fota Wildlife Park) is also east of Cork City, and Fota Island Golf Course hosted the Irish Open golf tournament in 2001. Towns and "key villages" in the East Cork municipal district of Cork County Council include Midleton, Youghal, Castlemartyr, Cloyne, Killeagh, Whitegate and Aghada. Other smaller villages include Ballycotton, Ballymacoda, Dungourney, Ladysbridge, Mogeely, Saleen, and Shanagarry.
