The Naval College is the principal naval military college in Ireland providing training to cadets, non-commissioned officers and recruits of the Irish Naval Service. The Naval College trains and educates personnel for service, providing a mixture of different courses ranging from officer training right through to naval engineering. The Naval College is based out of the Naval Service's headquarters at Naval Base Haulbowline but also provides classes and lessons in non-military naval training at the nearby National Maritime College of Ireland in Ringaskiddy.

The National Maritime College of Ireland (Irish: Coláiste Náisiúnta Mara na hÉireann, NMCI) is a public maritime college located in Ringaskiddy, County Cork, Ireland. It is a constituent college of the Munster Technological University. Founded in 2004, it is situated on former Department of Defence land aside the Haulbowline naval base, the headquarters of the Irish Naval Service. It is the first dedicated maritime college of its kind in the State, and was built under the Irish Government's Public-Private Partnership scheme, involving the Munster Technological University (formerly, Cork Institute of Technology), the Naval Service and a number of other partners. The Irish Naval Service and other Defence Forces personnel carry out non-combat training at the National Maritime College of Ireland, with a permanent Naval Service cadre present on site to assist in the carrying out of this training.

Haulbowline (Irish: Inis Sionnach; Old Norse: Ál-boling) is an island in Cork Harbour off the coast of Ireland. The world's first yacht club was founded on Haulbowline in 1720. The western side of the island is the main naval base and headquarters for the Irish Naval Service, with the eastern side previously used for heavy industry and later redeveloped as a park.Since 1966, the island has been connected to the mainland by a roadbridge.

Spike Island (Irish: Inis Píc) is an island of 103 acres (42 ha) in Cork Harbour, Ireland. Originally the site of a monastic settlement, the island is dominated by an 18th-century bastion fort now named Fort Mitchel. The island's strategic location within the harbour meant it was used at times for defence and as a prison. Since the early 21st century the island has been developed as a heritage tourist attraction, with €5.5 million investment in exhibition and visitor spaces and accompanying tourism marketing. There were in excess of 81,000 visitors to the island during 2019, a 21% increase on 2018 numbers. Spike Island was named top European tourist attraction at the 2017 World Travel Awards.

Cobh railway station serves the town of Cobh, County Cork. It is located in a red brick building adjacent to the town's Cobh Heritage Centre. It is the terminus of the on Cork-Cobh section of the Cork Suburban Rail line. Travel to Glounthaune station to transfer to Midleton.

The Cobh Heritage Centre is a museum located in Cobh, County Cork, Ireland. It is attached to Cobh railway station.The "Queenstown Experience", located at the centre, has mostly permanent exhibitions of Irish history. The centre has held exhibits on life in Ireland through the 18th and 19th centuries, mass emigration, the Great Famine, Cork Harbour's defences, on penal transportation to Australia, and on the sinking of the RMS Lusitania. It also has displays on the history of the RMS Titanic, whose last port of call was at Cobh (then Queenstown). The centre also hosts temporary exhibitions and, for example, hosted exhibits on John Philip Holland (loaned from the County Louth Museum) in 2000.The centre is a tourist destination, including with visitors from cruise ships, which often dock in Cobh. The centre has two onsite gift shops and a café.

The Scots Church is a former Presbyterian church in Cobh, County Cork, Ireland. It is today a museum, the Cobh Museum, which tells the history of the town.

Cobh ( KOHV, Irish: An Cóbh), known from 1849 until 1920 as Queenstown, is a seaport town on the south coast of County Cork, Ireland. With a population of 14,418 inhabitants at the 2022 census, Cobh is on the south side of Great Island in Cork Harbour and home to Ireland's only dedicated cruise terminal. Tourism in the area draws on the maritime and emigration legacy of the town. Facing the town are Spike and Haulbowline islands. On a high point in the town stands St Colman's, the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cloyne. It is one of the tallest buildings in Ireland, standing at 91.4 metres (300 ft).

The Arch Building (Irish: Foirgneamh Áirse), previously known as Cobh Town Hall and before that as Queenstown Town Hall (Irish: Halla an Bhaile An Cóbh), is a municipal building in Casement Square, Cobh, County Cork, Ireland. The building currently accommodates a public library and a tourist information centre. It is included in Cork County Council's Record of Protected Structures.

St Colman's Park is a football stadium in Cobh, County Cork. It is home to Cobh Ramblers F.C. of the League of Ireland First Division. The stadium was redeveloped during the mid-2000s. Construction on a new changing facility and press office along with a new chairman's office was completed in 2006 along with new floodlights and a 900-seater stand replacing the old shed. The east stand, too was improved with 450 new seats being installed. A new surface was also added prior to the clubs admission to the Eircom/Airtricity League Premier Division in 2009.The stadium has hosted international underage games including games in the 1994 UEFA European Under-16 Football Championship qualifiers. Munster Schools Senior Cup games have also been staged at the stadium including the final which was won by local Cobh school, Coláiste Muire in 2010.

The Cathedral Church of St Colman (Irish: Ardeaglais Naomh Colmán), usually known as Cobh Cathedral, or previously Queenstown Cathedral, is a single-spire cathedral in Cobh, Ireland. It is a Roman Catholic cathedral and was completed in 1919. Built on Cathedral Place, it overlooks Cork harbour from a prominent position, and is dedicated to Colmán of Cloyne, patron saint of the Diocese of Cloyne. It serves as the cathedral church of the diocese. Construction began in 1868 and was not completed until over half a century later due to increases in costs and revisions of the original plans. With the steeple being 91.4 metres tall (300 ft), the cathedral is the tallest church in Ireland. It was considered to be the second-tallest, behind St John's Cathedral in Limerick which was believed to be 94 metres tall; newer measurements have shown that the St John's spire is in fact 81 metres tall and therefore only the fourth tallest church in Ireland. It is frequently cited as one of Ireland's most beautiful church buildings.

The Diocese of Cloyne (Irish: Deoise Chluana) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in Ireland. It is one of six suffragan dioceses in the ecclesiastical province of Cashel (also known as Munster).
