Caldwell (locally CALL-dwel) is a city in and the county seat of Canyon County, Idaho. The population was 59,996 at the time of the 2020 United States census, making it the 5th most populous city in Idaho.Caldwell is considered part of the Boise metropolitan area. Caldwell is the location of the College of Idaho.

The Caldwell Carnegie Library in Caldwell, Idaho, also known as the Caldwell Veterans Memorial Hall, was constructed from a grant by the Carnegie library foundation. The building opened in 1914 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places June 18, 1979. Its modest, 1-story Renaissance design is credited to Charles Carroll Soule and features reading rooms on either side of the main entrance. The building also includes a full basement with lecture hall.

Sterry Hall at the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho, is a French Renaissance style building designed in 1909 by Boise architects Nisbet & Paradice and completed in 1910. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Carrie Adell Strahorn Memorial Library at the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho, was designed by Boise architects Wayland and Fennell as a 1-story, Neoclassical structure. The building opened in 1926 and served the college as a library until 1967 and the opening of Terteling Library. In 1968 the building was renamed Strahorn Hall, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The College of Idaho (C of I) is a private liberal arts college in Caldwell, Idaho. Founded in 1891, it is the state's oldest private liberal arts college and has an enrollment of over 1,000 students. The college's alumni include eight Rhodes Scholars, three governors, four professional football players, and one professional baseball player. Its PEAK Curriculum allows students to study in four knowledge areas - humanities, natural sciences, social sciences, and a professional field - and earn a major and three minors in four years.

The U.S. Post Office-Caldwell Main in Caldwell, Idaho, is a 1-story, Classical Revival building constructed of brick with a sandstone foundation and terracotta decorations. Established in 1932, the Post Office features a marble entry flanked by terracotta pilasters below a leaded glass fan window. The design is credited to James A. Wetmore, acting supervising architect for the U.S. Treasury. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.The building was constructed by contractor H.J. McNeal, and original dimensions were 69 feet by 74 feet. A 66-foot lawn separated the Post Office from the adjacent Elks Temple on Arthur Street. In 1965 the building was remodeled, and the Post Office expanded to include the former lawn area.

The North Caldwell Historic District in Caldwell, Idaho, includes one church and five houses constructed in the Queen Anne style in the 1880s and 1890s. The historic district is between Albany and Belmont Streets on 9th Avenue with one house midblock on Belmont between 8th and 9th Avenues. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and it is part of a larger, 15-site walking tour also designated by the city of Caldwell as North Caldwell Historic District.

Canyon Springs High School is a high school in Caldwell, Idaho. It is operated by the Caldwell School District.

Blatchley Hall, on the campus of the College of Idaho in Caldwell in Canyon County, Idaho, was built in 1910. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It was deemed significant as a good "example of the Colonial revival" and for its association with the history of The College of Idaho.It was home of Henry and Carrie Blatchley, who donated 10 acres (4.0 ha) of land to the campus of the College of Idaho in 1916, with the hope that it would serve as the college president's home. Dr. William Judson Boone, who founded the college in 1891, lived there for a short time. It was later remodeled to serve as a Y.M.C.A. and then again later to serve as the college's music building and art gallery.

The Caldwell Historic District in Caldwell, Idaho, is an area of approximately four acres in downtown Caldwell along Main Street, South 7th Avenue, South Kimball Avenue, and Arthur Street. Fires in 1884 and in 1896 destroyed businesses in early Caldwell, and brick had become Caldwell's favored building material for downtown structures.: 50  In 1906 alone, brick construction on Main Street between South 7th and South Kimball Avenues included the Steunenberg Block, the Egleston Block, and expansion of the Lucas Block—soon known as the Little Block and later dubbed the Harmon Building. When the Caldwell Historic District was surveyed in 1982, many brick historic buildings adjacent to the district were not included.The district includes Romanesque Revival and modest commercial architecture, although some facades have been altered since construction. The 1982 site survey noted 14 buildings, and the district was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) July 19, 1982.

The A.K. Steunenberg House in Caldwell, Idaho, is a 2-story Colonial Revival expansion by Tourtellotte & Co. in 1904 of a smaller Queen Anne house. The 1904 renovation established a 2-story, round corner tower and a colonnade with three prominent columns marking the Kimball Street exposure. The original house at the northwest corner of North 4th and Kimball Streets may have been occupied by the Steunenbergs as early as 1890.
