It has its own Volvoi village panchayat, which has five panchayat members.In the 2011 census, Volvoi was found to have an area of 135.14 hectares, with a total of 385 households, and a population of 1,842 persons – comprising 1,024 males and 818 females. The zero-to-six age group population comprised 141 children, of these 66 were males and 75 females.

Nilesh Mohan Naik (22 May 1970 – 23 January 1995) was an Indian environmental activist and farmworker belonging to the scheduled tribe community. He was shot to death during the Nylon 6,6 agitation at Keri plateau, Ponda. He is popularly known as Goa's first environmental martyr.

In the 2011 Census, Usgao was found to have an area of 25.40 square kilometres, with a total of 2,867 households, and a population of 12,436 persons comprising 6,370 males and 6,066 females. The zero-to-six age group population comprised 1,254 children, of these 614 were males and 640 females.Usgao (together with Ganjem) was sought to be included in the newly-formed Dharbandora taluka. But a May 2011 Goa government decision accepted to retain this panchayat area within Ponda taluka or sub-district.

Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary is located in northeastern Goa, India in Ponda taluka. The total area of the park is 8 km2. It is a popular destination for both tourists and schoolchildren. A wide variety of animal life can be encountered, including: sambar deer, Indian bison, Malabar giant squirrel, Indian peafowl and many species of snakes.Bondla provides sanctuary to leopards who have been injured in human-wildlife conflict, as well as "dancing" bears and cobras who, along with their trainers, need a new life after this treatment of endangered wildlife. Bondla zoo is known for its successful breeding of gaur. As it is the only zoo in Goa, many visit the zoo. The zoo provides an excellent environment to breed and do researches on animals

Orgao is a village in Ponda taluka, North Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. For the purposes of the census, it is considered a "Census Town". It is however part of the Orgao-Tivrem Village Panchayat. As of the 2011 census, Orgao was found to have an area of 3.50 square kilometres, with a total of 1,156 households, and a population of 4,602 persons, comprising 2,264 males and 2,338 females. The zero-to-six age group population comprised 383 children, of these 207 were males and 176 females.
