Kandanad Valiyapally aka St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral, Kandanad is a cathedral in the Kandanad village of Ernakulam District of Kerala. Believed to have been originally constructed circa 4th century AD, it has been administered by Diocese of Kandanad of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. Thiruvankulam is a census town and revenue village in Thrippunithura municipality, in Ernakulam district, Kerala, India. The area is a part of the Kochi metropolitan area. The NH 49 passes through Thiruvankulam. The Karingachira junction is the location of the southern terminus of the Seaport-Airport Road, which connects the Cochin International Airport and the Cochin Port.In the 13th and 14th centuries, Thiruvankulam was a border village between the Kingdom of Cochin and Kingdom of Travancore. The Kavaleeshwaram stream, now a canal, separated the two kingdoms. Thiruvankulam is the location of the Hill Palace, which was the imperial administrative office and official residence of the Cochin royal family. In the present day, Thiruvankulam's proximity to the city as well as industrial areas comprising the Kochi refineries and allied industries have contributed to its growth. The economic development of Kochi, as well as the nearby refinery industry have resulted in Thiruvankulam emerging as a major residential area.

Sree Poornathrayesa temple (in Malayalam: ശ്രീ പൂര്‍ണ്ണത്രയീശ ക്ഷേത്രം) is a Hindu temple situated in Tripunithura, Kochi, the capital of the former Kingdom of Cochin, Kerala, India. The temple is considered among the greatest temples in Kerala and was the first among eight royal temples of the erstwhile Kochi Kingdom. The deity was also considered the national deity of Cochin and protector guardian of Tripunithura. The deity in this temple is Lord Vishnu, who is in the form of Santhanagopala Murthy. Lord Poornathrayeesa is known for his love of elephants. Hence more than 40 elephants participate in his Vrishchikotsavam. And most of the elephants are sent for the utsavam (festival) without a money return expected by the elephant owners as Poornathrayeesa is considered to be an elephant lover. The temple is famous for its yearly utsavams or festivals. The main one is the Vrishchikoltsawam, which is conducted every year in the month of Vrishchikam (November–December), kicking off the Ulsava season in Kerala. This Vrishchikolsavam is the biggest temple festival in the world followed by the koodalmanikyam ulsavam iringalakkuda (Thrissur pooram is not an utsavam but it is a pooram so not counted as an utsavam) and one of the biggest major festivals in the world. It is believed that childless couples will be blessed with children on praying Poornathrayesan. Offering kanikka (money offered to the lord) to Poornathrayeesa in the most pure gold pot on thrikketta purappadu day (fourth day of Vrishchikotsavam) is the greatest achievement that a devotee can achieve. Visiting Poornathrayeesa who is present on top of 15 elephants during the grand procession of Vrishchikotsavam is also considered to be an achievement of a devotee.

Karingachira St. George's Jacobite Syrian Church of Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, established in 722 AD (Makaram 13), is one of the ancient churches of the Syriac Orthodox Church. St. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ is the founder of the ancient church in India. Christian writers and historians from the 4th century refer to the evangelistic work of Apostle Thomas in India, and the Indian Christians ascribe the origin of their church to the labours of the apostle in the 1st century.The church is located near Hill Palace, Thripunitura, Kochi. The church is named after Saint George. The Katthanar (Vicar) of Karingachira was considered the representative of the Nasarani community of the erstwhile Cochin State. During athachamayam, the Katthanar representing the Nasranis, along with Nettur Thangal (representing the Muslims), and Chembil Valia Arayan (representing the fisher folk) accompanied the Maharaja of Cochin State.

Thrippunithura Terminal is a terminal metro station serving as the southern terminal of the Kochi Metro which was opened on 6 March 2024. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 6 March 2024 and marked the completion of final station of the first phase of the Kochi metro system that starts from Aluva.

Poonithura is a region in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. It features one of the popular temples in Ernakulam and it has historical links to the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple in Tripunithura. As per the mythology it is referred in Mahabaratha as the place where Arjuna build this temple for lord Krishna in the Chapter of Santhana Gopala. It is believed that this happened here and later on the temple was moved to Tripunithura. The temple here is called Poonithura Kottaram Sree Krishna Swami Temple. The annual 'Ashtamirohini' festival is celebrated with much fanfare by the local residents. Pooni means the "containment for arrows ", "Thura means sea shore" . The belief is that in Mahabaratha Arjuna dropped his "puni" before lord krishna as a sign of accepting defeat in the great kurukshetra battle.

The Sanctuary is the training ground and academy base of Indian football club Kerala Blasters FC. The club officially announced the completion of development on 5 September 2025. Located in Thrippunithura (Kochi, Kerala) to the east of Kochi and north of Thrippunithura Mini Bypass Road, and covering 7140 m2, it has been used for training of senior team, academy, and reserves since 2025 . The land occupied by The Sanctuary is leased from the Sree Narayana Vidyapeetam Public School, Thrippunithura on a ten year agreement. It took the club almost eighteen months to complete the construction of the facility. The name Sanctuary reflects the spirit of Kerala Blasters. Inspired by the elephant in the club crest, a symbol of Kerala's strength & identity, it represents a safe space where players & staff can prepare, grow & thrive together.

Chottanikkara is a town and southern suburb of the city of Kochi, Kerala, India. In local administration, it is a panchayat which consists of Chottanikkara, Kanayannur, Eruvely, Kureekkad, Vattukkunnu, Palace Square and Kottayathupara villages. Chottanikkara is also a part of urban agglomeration of City of Kochi. The famous Chottanikkara temple is situated in town. Kochi city buses are directly connected to Chottanikkara. Chottanikkara Government School stadium is one of the largest stadiums in the Ernakulam District. Chottanikkara panchayats were selected as one of the best gram panchayat in the state by the Union Panchayati Raj Ministry.

Thrikkariyoor Sree Kottekavu Bhagavathi Temple is situated 4 km from Kothamangalam. The presiding deity of the temple is Devi Adi Parashakti, located in main Sanctum Sanctorum, facing north. This temple deserves a special mention, as it is believed to have the spirits of Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva. The rites and rituals are based on those of the Arya Dravida traditions. Thrikkariyoor is also believed to be the capital of Chera Dynasty.

Hill Palace is an archaeological museum and palace located in the Thrippunithura neighbourhood of Kochi, Kerala. It is the largest archeological museum in the state and was the imperial administrative office and official residence of the Cochin Maharaja. Built in 1865, the palace complex consists of 49 buildings spreading across 54 acres (220,000 m2) and built in the traditional architectural style. The complex has an archaeological museum, a heritage museum, a deer park, a pre-historic park and a children's park.The campus section of the museum is home to several rare species of medicinal plants. Presently, the palace has been converted into a museum by The Kerala State Archaeology Department and is open to the public. The palace is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the city centre and is reachable by road and by rail. The Centre for Heritage Studies (CHS), an autonomous research and training institute set up by the Department of Cultural Affairs, of the Government of Kerala also functions at the site. The CHS is designated as the 'Manuscript Conservation Centre' (MCC) and 'Manuscript Resource Centre' (MRC) by the National Mission for Manuscripts.

Irumbu Palam (Iron Bridge) in Thrippunithura, Kerala is one of the earliest iron bridges in India. The bridge was built across the Purna River connecting Tripunithura and Poonithura which is part of the present Kochi Municipal Corporation. It was built by the British in 1890 during the reign of Keralavarma V. The bridge, which is still in use is considered as an heritage landmark of the city of Thrippunithura.
