Until 1 January 2007 Tornved municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in the former West Zealand County on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 105 km2, and had a total population of 9,135 (2005). Its last mayor was Jens Stenbæk, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Jyderup. Tornved municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Holbæk, Jernløse, Svinninge, and Tølløse municipalities to form a new Holbæk municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 583 km2 and a total population of 66,611 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Sjælland ("Region Zealand").

Jyderup is an old town, with a population of 4,207 (1 January 2026), in Holbæk Municipality, northwestern Zealand in Denmark. It is situated roughly halfway between the larger cities of Kalundborg and Holbæk on the west and east, respectively, and is surrounded by forest and farmland. The town is bordered on the west by the lake of Skarresø. Jyderup is split in two parts divided by the road between Holbæk and Kalundborg named Skovvejen (English: Forest Road). The town is served by Jyderup railway station which is located on the railway line between Holbæk and Kalundborg. The northeastern part is the oldest, containing the 13th-century church. The southwestern part was built when the railroad was constructed in the early 1900s, and contains most of the shops and stores in the town. In early 2008, the town library was also moved to this part, when the townhall building stood empty, after Tornved Municipality became part of Holbæk Municipality in 2007, and the local authority was moved out of the town for the sake of centralization.

Jyderup railway station is a railway station serving the railway town of Jyderup between the cities of Holbæk and Kalundborg on the island of Zealand, Denmark. The station is located in the southwestern part of the town by its main artery Skarridsøgade, a short distance from the Skarresø lake. Jyderup railway station is situated on the Northwest Line from Roskilde to Kalundborg. The station opened in 1874. It offers regional rail services to Kalundborg, Holbæk, Roskilde and Copenhagen operated by the national railway company DSB.

Kattrup is a manor house and estate located south of Jyderup, Kalundborg Municipality, 90 kilometres west of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Until 1 January 2007, Bjergsted was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in West Zealand County on the west coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark. The municipality included the islands of Sejerø and Nekselø, and covered an area of 138.62 km2. It had a total population of 8,047 (2005). Its last mayor was Gert Larsen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Svebølle. Bjergsted municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged into the Kalundborg municipality along with former Gørlev, Hvidebæk, Høng, and Kalundborg municipalities. This created a municipality with an area of 598 km2 and a total population of 48,697 (2005).

Ruds Vedby, in Sorø Municipality, is a small town located on the railway between Tølløse and Høng in West Zealand, eastern Denmark. Ruds Vedby is located 18 km north of Slagelse, 8 km west of Dianalund and 20 km north-west of Sorø. As of 1 January 2024, the population was 1,694.

Selchausdal, formerly Gundetved, is a manor house and estate located on the east side of Tissø, Kalundborg Municipality, some 92 kilometres west of Copenhagen, Denmark. The three-winged Renaissance Revival style main building is from 1857 and was designed by Johan Daniel Herholdt. It was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1978.

Kragerup, also known as Kragerupgaard, is a manor house and estate located close to Høng, Kalundborg Municipality, some 90 kilometres southwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. The estate has been owned by the Dinesen family since 1801. The main building is now operated as a hotel. It was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1918.

Until 1 January 2007 Dianalund Municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in West Zealand County on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in east Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 67 km2, and had a total population of 7,406 (2005). Its last mayor was Per Hovmand, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Dianalund. Dianalund Municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Sorø and Stenlille municipalities to form the new Sorø Municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 317 km² and a total population of 28,336 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Sjælland ("Region Zealand").

Naturpark Åmosen is a nature park on west Zealand in Denmark. The nature park comprise c. 8,000 ha of connected wetlands emerging from the lowlying bog of Store Åmose in the east near the town of Hvalsø, through the lakes of Skarresø and Tissø and ending at the sea in the west, at the Great Belt. Most of the area is designated as Natura 2000 and according to the park service, it is believed to hold great natural beauty, landscapes representing typical Danish countrysides, a rich natural diversity and high cultural historic importance. These points have all been essential in establishing the park and it has been certified as a Nature Park by the Danish Outdoor Council and their authorized labeling schemes for Danish Nature Parks from 2013. An excerpt form the nature parks own website states: "With the nature park, there should be a positive development within all areas: nature, culture, outdoor life, public outreach, business and settling." Most of Naturpark Åmosen is on private hands, as most of the Danish countryside. Establishing the park is thus a freely cooperation between the State, the Municipality, local citizens and private landowners and the involvement of local citizens have been a major priority in the process. The current agency of the nature park is working on establishing a fund. The farmhouse of Fugledegård on the western bank of lake Tissø, is the headquarters and communication center of Naturpark Åmosen. They host exhibitions, several events and guided tours throughout the year.

Dianalund is a railway town, at the Tølløse railway line, on the west central part of the Danish island of Zealand. It has a population of 4,127 (1 January 2022), making it the second largest town in Sorø Municipality. Dianalund was the municipal seat of the former Dianalund Municipality, until 1 January 2007. Kolonien Filadelfia, the only epilepsy hospital in Denmark, is located in the town.

Tissø is the fourth largest freshwater lake in Denmark, at 12.3 km2. It is located on the western part of Zealand, in the municipality of Kalundborg. There are several small towns and villages near the lake, of which Sæby is the biggest at 343 citizens (2013). In the town of Kalundborg, some of Lake Tissø's outflow is used as cooling water for the Kalundborg Eco-industrial Park.
