2019 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational

The 2020 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational was the 22nd WGC Invitational held July 30 – August 2 at the TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. Originally planned for July 2–5, it was rescheduled and played with no spectators in attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.FedEx Cup leader Justin Thomas won his second WGC Invitational title, and returned to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking having last held that position in June 2018. Thomas became the third-youngest player to win 13 times on the PGA Tour since 1960, behind Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

The 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational was a professional golf tournament being held August 5–8 at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. It was the 23rd and final WGC Invitational tournament, the third of the World Golf Championships events in 2021. It was also the 64th year that the PGA Tour stopped in Memphis; dating back to the 1958 Memphis Open. The WGC Invitational was removed from the schedule in 2022, with the venue of the tournament hosting the FedEx St. Jude Championship, a FedEx Cup playoff event, ultimately replacing The Northern Trust.Abraham Ancer won the event after making a birdie at the second hole of a sudden-death playoff against Sam Burns and Hideki Matsuyama. The three had tied at 264 after 72 holes, 16-under-par, a stroke ahead of Harris English, the first, second and third round leader.

The FedEx St. Jude Classic was a professional golf tournament held in Memphis, Tennessee, as a regular event on the PGA Tour. The tournament was held annually from 1958 through 2018, and was played in June at TPC Southwind (since 1989). In 2019, FedEx took over sponsorship of the WGC Invitational and relocated the tournament to Memphis in late July. The relocated WGC event continues the charitable relationship with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The new name for the relocated event is the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational For the 2021–22 season, the WGC Invitational was discontinued, and the first FedEx Cup playoff event was relocated to TPC Southwind with FedEx as the new title sponsor; the event will be named the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

The FedEx St. Jude Championship, founded as the Westchester Classic in 1967, is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour. Since 2007, it has been played as the first tournament of the playoff system for the FedEx Cup, with the field limited to the top 70 players on the FedEx Cup points list at the end of the regular season; prior to 2023, the top 125 players were included. For sponsorship reasons, the tournament has previously been titled as The Northern Trust, The Barclays, and the Buick Classic. The Westchester Classic was hosted at Westchester Country Club in Harrison, New York until 2007, after which it moved around several courses in New York and New Jersey. In 2018, the PGA Tour announced that The Northern Trust, as it was then known, would alternate between the New York/New Jersey and Boston areas from 2019, and in 2020 it was held at TPC Boston. For the 2021–22 season, the tournament was relocated to TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee with FedEx as the new title sponsor and the event being titled the FedEx St. Jude Championship.Many of the world's top players have won the event including Sergio García, Adam Scott, Jason Day, Matt Kuchar, Patrick Reed, Dustin Johnson and 2018 champion Bryson DeChambeau, who captured a four-stroke victory and became the tournament's youngest winner in the FedEx Cup era. Since the tournament's inception in 1967, The Northern Trust has generated nearly $50 million for New York/New Jersey Metropolitan-area charities, including a record $1.865 million in 2018.

TPC Southwind is a private golf club in Shelby County, Tennessee, southern United States, located within the gated community of Southwind in Southeast Memphis. East-southeast of central Memphis, the 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Ron Prichard, in consultation with tour pros Hubert Green and Fuzzy Zoeller. TPC Southwind opened in 1988, and is a member of the Tournament Players Club network operated by the PGA Tour. It is near the world headquarters of FedEx, adjacent to the west. TPC Southwind has been the venue for the tour's annual FedEx St. Jude Classic, formerly the Memphis Open, since 1989. The event was previously played at Colonial Country Club in Cordova. TPC Southwind was renovated following the 2004 event.

The Germantown Redoubt (more commonly known as Fort Germantown) is a redoubt built during the Civil War by Union troops. This was built along a relatively sharp bend of the Memphis and Charleston Railroad (now the Memphis Subdivision of the Norfolk Southern Railway). It is located a couple miles east of the Old Germantown neighborhood in Germantown, Tennessee. Federal troops built the garrison after they took control of Corinth, Mississippi (about 90 miles east of Memphis) and the railroad. From an archaeological standpoint, it is significant in that it is one of the few intact defense structures found of its size. This has given historians a perspective on how these forts were constructed and artifacts found there have given a hint about the daily life at the fort.Today, the area is protected in a 5-acre Germantown City Park, located within a suburban neighborhood. The earthen structure is still intact, but the original timber retaining walls were destroyed in late 1863 (a portion of an example wall still remains). Several replica cannons are on site, as well as educational markers. The park includes a small parking area and playground. The Norfolk Southern railroad is still visible from the fort through a clearing.

Germantown is a city in Shelby County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 41,333 at the 2020 census.Germantown is a suburb of Memphis, bordering it to the east-southeast. Germantown was founded in 1841 by mostly German emigrants. The town hosts Festivals year round to celebrate their history and German Culture. Germantown has the lowest crime rate for any city its size in the State of Tennessee and the police and fire departments have average emergency response time of five minutes (police just under 4 minutes & fire department 5.2 minutes). The parks and recreation department is nationally accredited. The Arbor Day Foundation has designated Germantown a "Tree City USA" for 23 consecutive years. Only 3.2% of Germantown citizens are below the poverty line.

The Mike Rose Soccer Complex is a complex of 16 soccer fields and one 2,500-capacity stadium located in Memphis, Tennessee. The complex and stadium were completed in 2001 at a cost of around $4 million. The complex is home to many clubs in the Memphis area as well as several regional tournaments. The largest cross country race at night known as the Memphis Twilight Invitational is held here as well. It served as the home of the Memphis Tigers men's and women's soccer from 2001 to 2018. They then moved to the on-campus soccer & track stadium in 2019.

Germantown High School is a public high school in Germantown, Tennessee, and is part of the Memphis-Shelby County Schools district. Three acres were purchased in 1910, and in 1911 students moved into the new building.

Southwind High School (SHS) is a public high school located in unincorporated Shelby County, Tennessee, United States, and is operated by the Memphis-Shelby County Schools district, and is located southeast of Memphis. The high school which is located within the Southwind gated community was established in 2007.

Saddle Creek is the first shopping center in the nation developed as a lifestyle center. It is located in the eastern Memphis, Tennessee suburb of Germantown, and it includes national specialty shops and restaurants. About 70% of tenants are unique to the Memphis market. Crumbl Cookies, Evereve, and Fabletics are joining the center in 2022. Saddle Creek straddles Poplar Avenue, with Saddle Creek North located at Poplar Avenue and West Farmington Boulevard and Saddle Creek South located at Poplar Avenue and West Street. The center offers pet friendly shopping and complimentary Wi-Fi.
