Hermitage Arboretum

The Hermitage is a historical museum located in Davidson County, Tennessee, United States, 10 miles (16 km) east of downtown Nashville. The 1,000-acre (400 ha)+ site was owned by Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States, from 1804 until his death at the Hermitage in 1845. It also serves as his final resting place. Jackson lived at the property intermittently until he retired from public life in 1837. Enslaved men, women, and children, numbering nine at the plantation's purchase in 1804 and 110 at Jackson's death, worked at the Hermitage and were principally involved in growing cotton, its major cash crop. It is a National Historic Landmark.

Tulip Grove is an antebellum house built in 1836 for Andrew Jackson Donelson, who was the nephew of Andrew Jackson. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Hopewell is a neighborhood in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, United States. It lies at an elevation of 472 feet (144 m). The role of Hopewell and the manipulation of the votes of its predominantly African-American population for the purposes of early 20th century machine politics in Tennessee is described in The Secrets of the Hopewell Box by James D. Hermitage, Tennessee, is a neighborhood, located in eastern Davidson County, adjacent to – and named in honor of – The Hermitage, the historic home of Andrew Jackson, seventh President of the United States. Although the area is incorporated as part of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, it maintains its own identity as a residential and commercial suburban area. Hermitage is located immediately to the east of Donelson, a Nashville borough named in honor of Andrew Jackson's father-in-law John Donelson, and just to the west of Mount Juliet in adjacent Wilson County. Once a rural area, Hermitage is now a thriving district with a highly developed network of retail stores and typical suburban tract houses, ranging from the "starter home" to the "executive residence". The technology headquarters of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, one of the Big Four auditors, is located in Hermitage, sprawling across 200,000 square feet (19,000 m2) and employing more than 1,000 people.Major thoroughfares include U.S. Route 70, Interstate 40, and State Route 45. The neighborhood also has a station on the WeGo Star commuter rail service and is home to the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association, the organization that administers junior and senior high school sporting events. Hermitage is divided from Donelson by the Stones River and its bottom lands, Clover Bottom. It has benefited from the impoundment of the Stones by J. Percy Priest Dam, a nearby United States Army Corps of Engineers project that provides a number of recreation opportunities, particularly in the summer months. The dam has also contributed to the desirability and value of the area's real estate. Hermitage and Donelson are often thought of as something of a unit and even have a joint Chamber of Commerce and Christmas parade. Hermitage is generally considered to be roughly included in United States Postal Service ZIP code 37076. The 2016 population estimate is 37,814.

Hermitage station is a train station in Nashville, Tennessee, serving the WeGo Star regional rail line. It serves Nashville's Hermitage area. Service began September 18, 2006.

Stone Hall is a historic mansion in Nashville, Tennessee, US. It was designed by George D. Waller in the Colonial Revival architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since November 17, 2010.The Stone Hall was built in 1918 for the Cantrell family, Dempsey Weaver Cantrell (1880–1965) and Nora Johnson Cantrell (1882–1959). The couple married in 1907. Nora Johnson Cantrell was a poet, and was named Poet Laureate of the Tennessee Federation of Women's Clubs in 1939. Dempsey Weaver Cantrell was a businessman. He founded a wholesale paper goods company named Southern Woodenware Company in 1903. Before moving to Stone Hall, the Cantrell family lived in East Nashville in a house on Russell Street. Following the 1916 fire of East Nashville in which their street house was "just missed", they decided to shift their home to a suburban area of Nashville. Nora Cantrell's father owned some land in the Donelson area, and the Cantrell family decided to build their new home here. They met architect George Waller, who ended up designing Stone Hall.The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Greenways of Nashville acquired Stone Hall in 2006–07. Hall is now used for public events and can be hired for weddings, receptions and cultural programs.

Lakewood is a neighborhood of Nashville in Davidson County, Tennessee. The population was 2,302 at the 2010 census, at which time it was an incorporated city, as it was from 1959 until 2011.

Green Hill is a census-designated place (CDP) in western Wilson County, Tennessee. The population was 6,618 at the 2010 census.

The John Cloyd House is a historic house in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, U.S.. It was built as a log house in 1791 for Captain John Cloyd, a settler who migrated to Tennessee with Colonel John Donelson. It was inherited by his son, John W. Cloyd, followed by the latter's daughter, Ella Cloyd Ligon. By the 1970s, it was owned by her son, Daniel Ligon. However, the original log house is only the front room of the modern-day house. The room includes Captain Cloyd's old bed.It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since October 1, 1974.

Neely's Bend is a major bend in the Cumberland River just northeast of Nashville, Tennessee and south of the Nashville suburb of Madison. This area contains several hundred acres and is some of the most rural land remaining in Davidson County, Tennessee, especially toward its southern end, with several large farms including a major equestrian operation. At the southernmost point is a boat ramp onto the Cumberland, which is the major current feature of Peeler Park, a property of the Metropolitan Nashville Department of Parks and Recreation that is as of 2006 still largely undeveloped. Peeler Park contains a model airplane landing strip and a new greenway. The northern end includes a middle school and an elementary school. The land within the bend is mostly visible from neighborhoods across the river (and atop river bluffs) in Donelson and East Nashville. The area's lack of development is largely due to its lack of accessibility; there is no ferry or bridge across the Cumberland from Neely's Bend into Nashville proper and access to the southern end is only by a narrow two-lane road.

Donelson Christian Academy is a private, K-12 Christian school that was founded in 1971. For its first three years classes were held in the Donelson Free Will Baptist Church, across from McGavock High School. In 1974, the school moved to Nashville, Tennessee.
