Prospect Green Historic District is a historic district in the New England town of Prospect, Connecticut. The district is centered on the Prospect Green, the town green. The green is located on the highest settled point in New Haven County. The green is bounded by Route 68 and Center and Church Streets.The main feature of the green is a Civil War Soldiers Monument (1907) situated near the center. Near it is a flag pole and another memorial. At the north end of the green is the former town library built in 1903-1904. Several historic buildings surround the green including, the current Congregational Church (built in 1941 and the fourth church on the site), the Grange Hall (1947), the Parsonage (1941), a 19th-century residence once used as a parsonage, and a school house (c. 1865, now used by the local historical society).The town of Prospect was settled in the 18th century and separately incorporated in 1827. Its town center arose in 1778, when the site, the highest in town, was selected for construction of a church. The town green was also laid out at that time, but remained in church ownership until 1905, when it was sold to the town. In the 19th century it developed as the civic heart of the town, with a Greek Revival school house built in 1867, and its first dedicated town library building (now the Meeting Place) built in 1905 as a gift of the Tuttle family. The library now occupies modern premises south of the church.

Prospect is a town in the Naugatuck Valley Planning Region, Connecticut, United States. It is a suburb of the nearby city of Waterbury to its north, and is on the north-eastern fringes of the New York metropolitan area. The population was estimated to be 9,401 in 2020. Prospect is part of the Waterbury NECTA and of the historical New Haven County. Prospect is also a member of the regional health district Chesprocott, along with Cheshire and Wolcott.Prospect was incorporated as a town in 1827 from the South Farms part of Waterbury and the West Rocks part of Cheshire. Prospect is an exurban town, with residents often traveling to other major cities and employment centers across the state.Prospect is known locally as being "The Best Small Town in Connecticut," with the phrase posted on the town's trucks and website. The name originates from an early 1990s article in Connecticut Magazine which ranked Prospect as the worst small town in the entire state. The measurement was done based on its school system, economy, the cost of living, crime rate and cultural resources. In response to this, the town's long-time mayor Robert Chatfield, removed the magazine from the library, and declared Prospect "The Best Small Town in Connecticut," and ordered it placed on town vehicles and bumper stickers.

Crosby High School is a public high school located in the East End section of the city of Waterbury, Connecticut. It is part of the Waterbury Public Schools district. It was first opened in 1851 and is currently the third oldest high school in Connecticut. It has an enrollment of approximately 1368 students. Originally located at 255 East Main Street in Waterbury, it moved to 300 Pierpont Road in September, 1974. It is attached to Wallace Middle School, in the Edward D. Bergin Educational Park. The former principal was Jade L. Gopie, the first African-American principal in the history of the Waterbury Public Schools. Now Michael Veronneau runs the school as principal.

The East End is a neighborhood in the city of Waterbury, Connecticut. It has a commercial center, schools, parks and community gatherings.

Hamilton Park is the oldest city park in Waterbury, Connecticut. Founded in 1898 as a gift from the locally prominent Hamilton family, it offers both passive and active recreation, with ballfields and other amenities. It is located on 93 acres (38 ha) southeast of downtown Waterbury, accessed via entrances on East Main Street. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Waterbury Brass Company was an industrial company located in Waterbury, Connecticut. Founded in 1846 by Israel Holmes, it was at its founding the largest maker of rolled brass in the country. The company was folded into the American Brass Company in 1899. Archaeological remains of its manufacturing facility, located in Waterbury's Hamilton Park, were investigated in 1975 and were listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Roaring Brook Falls is a waterfall in the southwestern hills of Cheshire, Connecticut in the Northeastern United States. Formed as the eponymous Roaring Brook descends a wooded cliffside on West Mountain, the waterfall is an 80-foot horsetail and ranks as one of the tallest in the state.

WATR (1320 AM) is a radio station licensed to serve Waterbury, Connecticut, and the Naugatuck Valley. The station is owned by WATR Radio, LLC. It airs a full-service format featuring news–talk, as well as classic and modern hits. It was until May 2022 the oldest privately owned station in the state of Connecticut, never having been sold outside the family of its founder, Harold Thomas (1902–1968). The station's weekday AM drive program is "Mornings with Chris & Allison", hosted by Christopher M. Fortier and Allison Demers, with news reports from veteran broadcaster Nancy Barrow. Fortier, former WATR news director, was appointed the station's Director of Operations & Programming on September 16, 2023, and began hosting the morning program on October 2, 2023 (Demers joined him one week later). Barbara Hart Davitt, who marked 60 years at the station on November 22, 2023, hosts "Coffee Break" at 9:30 a.m. four days a week. Debuting in the mid-1960s, it is one of the longest-running radio shows in the U.S. Davitt in 2018 was the first Waterbury-area radio personality inducted into the Connecticut Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame. "Talk of the Town", WATR's flagship talk show since 1972, airs from 10:00 a.m. to noon, with a focus on local and state issues. Previous hosts include Steven Noxon, Larry Rifkin, Ed Flynn, James Senich and Jay Clark. The station, as of January 14, 2023, is an ABC News Radio affiliate. Weekend programming highlights include the syndicated "Greatest Hits USA", hosted by Chuck Matthews; the Sunday morning "Carosello Italiano," hosted by Joe Costa and featuring music and news from the Italian community; and the Sunday night "Music Museum" hosted by longtime Connecticut broadcaster Jay Crawford. The station was also host to the popular "Polish Eagle Show", originated in 1934 on WATR by bandleader Victor Zembruski (1912–1976). His widow, Sophie Zembruski (1918–2010), hosted the show from 1976 to 2008, at which time the couple's daughter, Loretta Hoxie, took over hosting duties. "The Zembruski Family Polka Hour", hosted by Nathaniel Zembruski, succeeded Hoxie shortly after she retired in 2013. Zembruski, at age 17, decided to end the show as his junior year of high school concluded. Its finale aired on May 31, 2020. The station also maintains a decades-long tradition of broadcasting play-by-play of local high school football and basketball. WATR was a member of the University of Connecticut sports radio network from 2018 to 2023. WATR once had sister FM and television stations: WATR-FM (now WWYZ), established in 1961, and WATR-TV (now WCCT-TV), established in 1953. It was announced on February 24, 2020, that the station was up for sale. A partnership between WWCO owner David Webster and WARE owner Kurt Jackson purchased the station and translator W249DY effective August 24, 2022, for $320,000.The station has been assigned the WATR call letters by the Federal Communications Commission since it was initially licensed in 1934.

Brass Mill Center is a shopping mall located in Waterbury, Connecticut. The mall and its accompanying complex, the Brass Mill Commons, cost $160 million to build. At 1,180,000 square feet (110,000 m2), it is Connecticut's fifth largest mall, containing over 130 shops. It is located off Interstate 84 in Waterbury, Connecticut. The mall features the traditional retailers JCPenney, Burlington, and Shoppers World.

Holy Land USA is an 18-acre (7.3 ha) theme park in Waterbury, Connecticut, inspired by selected passages from the Bible. It consists of a chapel, stations of the cross, and replicas of catacombs and Israelite villages constructed from cinder blocks, bathtubs, and other discarded materials. The park closed to the public in 1984 and fell into disrepair. On September 14, 2014, the site reopened to the public for the first time in 30 years with an inaugural Mass. The area is now open to the general public during daylight hours.

The Waterbury Career Academy is a high school located in the North End section of Waterbury, Connecticut, in the United States. The school consists of four strands. Students are able to pick a strand at the end of their freshman term. It is a part of Waterbury Public Schools. Jade L. Gopie took the role as Principal in August 2020 after former principal Dr. Louis A. Padua announced his retirement. Then in October 2021, Michael Harris, former assistant principal, was promoted to principal after Gopie was promoted to Assistant Superintendent. As of 2023, School is currently run by Principal Michael Harris and Assistant Principals Jennifer Franceskino and Peter Flammia
