Salem Chapel Township is one of fifteen townships in Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 6,808 according to the 2010 census.Geographically, Salem Chapel Township occupies 32.59 square miles (84.4 km2) in northern Forsyth County. Portions of the town of Walkertown are in Salem Chapel Township.

WTRU (830 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Kernersville, North Carolina, and serving the Piedmont Triad. It is owned by Truth Broadcasting and carries a Christian talk and teaching radio format. Truth Broadcasting is owned by Stuart Epperson, Jr., son of Stuart Epperson, founder of Salem Communications. The station is the flagship of the "Truth Network," including WDRU in the Research Triangle, WCRU in Charlotte, WLES in Richmond, Virginia, and KUTR in Salt Lake City. By day, WTRU transmits with 50,000 watts, the maximum for AM stations in the U.S., but 830 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WCCO in Minneapolis, so WTRU must reduce power at night to 10,000 watts. Thomas A. Crews House is a historic home located at Walkertown, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built 1891, and is a two-story, vernacular Queen Anne style frame dwelling, enlarged to its present size in 1911. It features a one-story, shed-roofed, wrap-around porch. Also on the property are the contributing brick wash house (1891), a frame smokehouse (1891), barn (1891), pump house, chicken house, wood shed, equipment shed or "gear house," and the 65 foot brick smokestack of the former Crews Tobacco Factory (1891).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Middle Fork Township is a former township in Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 6,779 according to the 2000 census. In 2003, Middle Fork Township split into Middle Fork I Township and Middle Fork II Township.Geographically, Middle Fork Township occupied 12.93 square miles (33.5 km2) in central Forsyth County. Much of Middle Fork Township consists of the town of Walkertown. Additionally, much of the original township has been annexed by the City of Winston-Salem and made part of Winston Township.

Brook Cove is an unincorporated community in Stokes County, North Carolina, United States. It is a couple of miles from the towns of Walnut Cove and Germanton.

Middle Fork I Township is a township in Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 Census, it had a population of 1,710. The township covers an area of 2.448 square miles (6.34 km2). Middle Fork I Township was formed in April 2003, when Middle Fork Township was split into Middle Fork I Township and Middle Fork II Township.

Germanton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Forsyth and Stokes counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina, primarily in Stokes County. As of the 2020 census, the community had a population of 790. It is located 13 miles (21 km) south of the Stokes County seat of Danbury, on North Carolina State Highways 8 and 65 at an altitude of 662 feet (202 m). Downtown Winston-Salem is 13 miles (21 km) to the south. Germanton was the county seat of Stokes County prior to Forsyth County being created from southern Stokes. Before the creation of Forsyth County, Germanton was centrally located within the Stokes County limits.

Leak-Chaffin-Browder House is historic home located near Germanton, Stokes County, North Carolina. It was built between about 1853 and 1860, and is a large two-story, Greek Revival style brick dwelling. It has a Colonial Revival style front porch that dates from the early 20th century. Also on the property are the contributing kitchen-slave/servants' house, granary / tobacco pack house, wood shed, privy, shed, barn, and combination corn crib, equipment shed, and meat house.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Germanton Methodist Church and Cemetery is a historic Methodist church and cemetery located on Main Street at the junction of Main Street and Willow Street in Germanton, Stokes County, North Carolina. It was built in 1856, and is a simple two-story, rectangular brick building with a front gable roof, with Greek Revival detailing. It features a central three-part belfry atop the roof. The cemetery contains markers dated to the 1820s.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Walnut Cove is a town in Stokes County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,536 at the 2020 census.It is the home of the Walnut Cove Springfest, which draws many visitors to the area. Festival-organizers marked 1889, the town's incorporation date, but the town's roots date to the mid-18th century when it was known as Town Fork. Town Fork settlers formed a bond with Moravians in Bethania and Bethabara. Eventually, William Lash, a Moravian settler at Bethania, bought land along the Town Fork Creek, which later developed into a large plantation named Walnut Cove. The Town was a railroad center in its former years, and today remnants of the old Train Depot still stand on Depot Street. It is also home to historic Covington House (built in 1821), Fulp-Marshall Home (built in 1836), Culler Roller Mill now known as Monitor Roller Mill (built in 1900). Walnut Cove is also home to South Stokes High School, a big part of the town is located to the west of town, near NC 8 and Hawkins Road. Belews Lake and Hanging Rock State Park are located nearby. Winston-Salem is 23 miles (37 km) to the southeast via US 311, US 158 and Salem Parkway (US 421). Danbury is 10 miles (16 km) to the north via NC 89. Germanton is 6.6 miles to the west-southwest via NC 65. Madison and Mayodan are 14 miles (23 km) to the northeast via US 311. Other nearby cities include Kernersville, Walkertown, Rural Hall, Stokesdale, and the small community of Pine Hall.

St. Philips Episcopal Church, also known as St. Philips Church, is a historic Episcopal church located on NC 65 and 8 and SR 1957 in Germanton, Stokes County, North Carolina. It was built in 1890, consecrated in 1894, and is a one-story, Gothic Revival style board-and-batten frame building. It features a two-stage corner tower and belfry.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Christ Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at 412 Summit Avenue in Walnut Cove, Stokes County, North Carolina. It was built in 1886–1887, and is a one-story, Gothic Revival style board-and-batten frame building. It was moved to its present located in 1909. It features lancet-arched windows and a two-stage entrance tower and belfry. An addition was built in 1943.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
