The Mahadayi/Mandovi River (Mandovi, pronounced [maːɳɖ(ɔ)wĩː]), also known as Mahadayi or Mhadei river, is described as the lifeline of the Indian state of Goa. The Mandovi and the Zuari are the two primary rivers in the state of Goa. Mandovi joins with the Zuari at a common creek at Cabo Aguada, forming the Mormugao harbour. Panaji, the state capital and Old Goa, the former capital of Goa, are both situated on the left bank of the Mandovi.

Campal Indoor Complex is a multi-purposed indoor stadium in Campal, Goa, India. The stadium is a main stadium in the town of Campal. The stadium was constructed for the 36 National Games for events of volleyball and basketball. It has various sports facilities like physical training for boys and ladies, indoor games, swimming pools, outdoor games etc. The stadium is a home of Sports Authority of Goa. Facilities includes air conditioning, player change rooms and lounge, dope control and medical rooms, media centre, state-of-the-art-acoustics and parking facilities and maple wood flooring at playing field. The stadium can also be used for many non sporting events and it can accommodate any indoor sporting event played at the Olympics. The stadium will be host of boxing, table tennis, wrestling for 2020 National Games of India.

Bhausaheb Bandodkar Ground (also known as Campal Grounds and Panjim Gymkhana Grounds) is a cricket ground in Panaji, Goa, India. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1966 when Gujarat Governor's XI played Maharashtra Governor's XI. The first first-class to be played there came in the 1986/87 Ranji Trophy when Goa played Tamil Nadu. Between the 1986/87 season and the 2005/06 season, the ground held 26 first-class matches. The first List A match played there came when Goa played Kerala in the 1993/94 Ranji Trophy one-day competition. Fifteen further List A matches have been played on the ground, the last of which saw Andhra Pradesh play Hyderabad in the 2004/05 Ranji Trophy one-day competition.

Kala Academy (Academy of the Arts) is a prominent cultural centre run by the Government of Goa, in Goa, India. Situated at Campal, Panjim, it is registered as a society, and was started in February 1970. The building was designed by Charles Correa. It plays the role of being an "apex body to develop music, dance, drama, fine art, folk art, literature, etc. and thereby promote (the) cultural unity of Goa."Funded by the Government of Goa, the centre offers training through its faculty, and also organises festivals, competitions, exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and other programmes related to various forms of the local arts. It has a General Council of 28 members, a 14-member Executive Board, and advisory committees for various sections. In August 29, the government of Goa siad the structure could not be repaired or renovated and might have to be demolished.

Miramar is the beach area of the Goan capital of Panjim, also known as Panaji and is one of the most visited beaches of Goa. It is one of the two only beaches in Panjim, other being Caranzalem beach. Many people, mostly tourists, come to this beach every day. Miramar Beach was the venue for Beach Volleyball events of the 2014 Lusofonia Games. Originally named Porta de Gaspar Dias by the Portuguese, the name was then changed to Miramar. Situated at the confluence of the Mandovi River and the Arabian Sea, it is a small beach that occasionally hosts some events. There are several educational institutions in the surrounding vicinity, including Dhempe College of Arts and Science, V. M. Salgaonkar College of Law and Sharada Mandir High School. Clube Gaspar de Dias and a popular café are nearby.

The Centre for Post-Graduate Instruction and Research (CPIR) was the lone educational institution which offered post-graduate education in Goa between the early 1960s and 1985. It was set up soon after the end of Portuguese rule in Goa and functioned under the University of Bombay. A few thousand students undertook their Masters education there, and some of whom went on to take up senior responsibilities in fields like education, journalism, law and science. The CPIR has been described as "the first post-graduate campus of any state university in India [to function] outside its original jurisdiction".

V. M. Salgaocar College of Law is a private government-aided law school situated at Miramar in Panji in the Indian state of Goa. It It offers 3 years LL.B., 5 years integrated Law course and LL.M. which is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi and affiliated to Goa University.

18th June Road is one of the busiest streets in Panaji, Goa, India. It is located in the heart of the city, and is a major shopping destination for the tourist folks. Major businesses and restaurants line the street. The street is named after the day in 1946 on which Ram Manohar Lohia had called a meeting to put an end to the Portuguese rule in India.

St Inez creek is a creek in Panjim, in the Indian state of Goa. The creek opens up into the Mandovi River. The creek is 3.7 kilometres (2 mi) in length, with a surface area of 65,750 square metres (707,700 sq ft) with an average width of 12.6 metres (41 ft). The creek begins at the paddy fields at Altinho hill at Taleigao, Caranzalem, and the Nagahali hills of Dona Paula. Caculo Island, is located in the creek. The creek has 12 culverts that originate from the old Goa Medical College complex leading to the Campal head, the Fire Brigade, the sewerage treatment plant at Tonca, the Tambdi Mati Cumrabhat, and the El Passo hotel. According to a Portuguese plaque on one of the culverts, the creek dates back to 1829, although Historian Percival Noronha dates it back to 1647.

North Goa district is one of the two districts that constitutes the state of Goa, India. The district has an area of 1,736 square kilometres (670 square miles), and is bounded by Kolhapur and Sindhudurg districts of Maharashtra state to the north and by Belgavi district of Karnataka to the east, by South Goa district to the south, and by the Arabian Sea to the west.

The Goa Public Service Commission is a constitutional body of the government of the Indian state of Goa, with responsibility for selection and examination of civil service employees. The Government of Goa is required to consult it on matters relating to the appointment, rules of recruitment, transfer, promotion and disciplinary action of civil servants. It reports directly to the Governor of Goa. The chairman and other members are appointed by the Governor of Goa. In 2018, Jose Manuel Noronha was the chairman, Ameya Abhayankar was secretary and Seema V. Malkarnekar the deputy-secretary.

The Instituto Vasco da Gama (Institute Vasco da Gama) Goa, today known as the Institute Menezes Braganza, was founded in 1871 on the initiative of Tomás António Ribeiro Ferreira, better known by Tomás Ribeiro, with the aim of promoting and supporting science and Lusophone literature in Goa. The Instituto Vasco da Gama promoted the golden age of Indo-Portuguese literature, and journalistic interventions besides texts in historiography and poetry.The institution received a building from the Portuguese authorities for the setting-up of its headquarters and the necessary financial support for the publication of the Boletim do Instituto Vasco da Gama (Bulletin of the Institute Vasco da Gama), a monthly journal. After a period of erasure, the Institute was restructured in 1924.In 1963, after the merger of Goa into India, it has changed its name to Institute Menezes Bragança, named after Luís de Menezes Braganza, journalist and one of the Goan pioneers of anti-colonialism.From March 1925, the Instituto Vasco da Gama was attached to the Biblioteca Pública de Goa (public library of Goa).In, 15 April 1952, it was made a Commander of the Order of Saint James of the Sword (Comendador da Ordem Militar de Sant'Iago da Espada).
