The Frank and Nelle Cochrane Woods House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1916 for Frank Woods, the founder and President of the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company, and his wife, née Nelle Cochrane. It was designed in the Renaissance Revival style by architect Paul V. Hyland, with a "hip roof with red clay tiles, symmetrical elevations, smooth and plain stucco wall surfaces, columns, and many arched openings.". It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since June 30, 1995.

The Ryons-Alexander House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built by Charles J. Gerstenberger in 1908 for William B. Ryons, the son of an Irish immigrant and the vice president of the First National Bank. In 1912, it was purchased by Hartley Burr Alexander, a philosopher and author of several books. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 8, 1982.

Temple of Congregation B'nai Jeshurun is a historic Reform synagogue in Lincoln, Nebraska. When it was built in 1923–1924, it replaced the old synagogue at 12th and D Streets completed in 1893. The main structure was designed in the Byzantine Revival and Moorish Revival styles by Davis & Wilson, and Meyer G. Gaba, a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, designed the dome. Inside, the arch was designed by wood-carver Keats Lorenz. The first rabbi was Solomon Elihu Starrels. The building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since June 25, 1982.

The Frank M. Spalding House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built by Peter Hansen and Frank Ostrander in 1909, and designed in the Mission Revival style by architect Ferdinand Comstock Fiske. Spalding died in 1914, and his widow and children lived here until 1920. It remained a private residence until the 1960s, when it was converted into a convent for the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, and it was later remodelled into a family property again. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 25, 1999.

The W.F. Hitchcock House is a historic two-and-a-half-story house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built with gray stucco in 1922 for William F. Hitchcock and his wife Birdie. It was designed in the Colonial Revival style by Jesse Boaz Miller, an architect who designed many houses and structures in Nebraska. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 5, 2002.

The John H. and Christina Yost House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built by Nathan Bishop with red bricks and limestone in 1912, and designed in the Renaissance Revival style by architect George A. Brilinghof. The owner, John Y. Yost, was a Russian immigrant of German descent who first arrived in Wisconsin in 1876 and moved to Nebraska in 1877. He lived in the house with his wife Christina, who was also a Russian immigrant, until his death in 1939. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since April 26, 2002.

The Arthur C. Ziemer House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1909-1910 for Arthur Z C. Ziemer, a railroad ticket agent, interior designer, and Christian Science healer. Ziemer first arrived in Lincoln in 1870, and he died in 1913. The house was it was designed in the Shingle style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since November 23, 1977.

The John M. Thayer House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1889 for John Milton Thayer, who served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War of 1861–1865, as a United States Senator from Nebraska from 1867 to 1871, as the 2nd Governor of Wyoming Territory from 1875 to 1878, and as the 6th Governor of Nebraska from 1887 to 1892. It was designed in the Queen Anne style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 5, 2002.

The Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) is a state correctional facility for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Located in Lincoln, it is the oldest state correctional facility in Nebraska, opening in 1869. Until after World War I, it was the only adult correctional facility in the state. During 1980-1981, the existing cellblocks constructed during the second half of the 19th century were replaced by four (later five) modular housing units. A new administrative complex and an EPA-approved multi-fuel power plant were also completed at the same time. An existing dormitory building constructed in the 1950s was retained as a medium security facility and two new 100 bed dormitory units were opened in 1998. A thirty-six bed control unit also built in the 1950s continues in use as a high security segregation facility. The Industries Plant, Laundry and other support buildings were retained from the older facility as well. The inmate population at the NSP typically consists of offenders aged 21 years and above, serving medium to longer sentences. The Nebraska State Penitentiary uses the Unit Management concept designed to improve control and staff/inmate relationships by dividing the larger institution population into smaller, more manageable groups and to improve and personalize the delivery of rehabilitative services. The NSP has been accredited by the American Correctional Association since 1985. The NSP offers a variety of education/rehabilitation programs designed to enhance an inmate's chances for successful community adjustment upon release. These include Educational/Life Skills and Vocational Programs, Self-Improvement (Mental Health and Control Unit Program), (Residential and Non-residential Substance Abuse Treatment), Residential Treatment Community (RTC), Religious Programming and Self-Betterment Activities), and Support Services The NSP is the site of major components of the Agency's Cornhusker State Industries (CSI) program. The James D. Calhoun House is a historic house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1889 by Charles W. Bean for James D. Calhoun, who served in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War of 1861-1865 before moving to Nebraska, where he was the editor of the Lincoln Weekly Herald from 1887 to 1894 and the Nebraska State Journal from 1880 to 1886. The house was designed in the Queen Anne style from plans published by architect Robert W. Shoppell. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since April 26, 2002.

The Frank E. and Emma A. Gillen House is a historic two-and-a-half-story house in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built in 1903 for Frank Gillen, the founder of the Gillen and Boney Candy Company. His wife Emma was an immigrant from Germany. The house became a designated city landmark in 1983. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 5, 1998.

The Cathedral of the Risen Christ is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska, United States. The cathedral parish traces its roots back to Holy Family Church, a parish founded in 1926 and organized in 1932. On June 20, 1963, the construction was begun on Cathedral of the Risen Christ. The new cathedral was dedicated on August 18, 1965.Eucharistic adoration has continued in the cathedral parish perpetually since October 1, 1959.
