Bangalore South Assembly seat is one of the seats in Karnataka state assembly in India. It is part of the Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha seat. Notably, the Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency does not contain the Bangalore South Assembly constituency. Bangalore South Assembly seat was created when delimitation of seats was carried out in 2008. While there are four Lok Sabha seats with the name of the city 'Bangalore' in their title, Bangalore South is the only Assembly seat among dozens in the city boundary which has the word 'Bangalore' in its title.

Kalena Agrahara is an upcoming elevated southern terminal metro station on the North-South corridor of the Pink Line of Namma Metro in Bangalore, India. This metro station serves residential properties and a few other locations including Prestige Elysian, Holy Spirit School (ICSE), Doddakammanahalli suburban area and Decathlon (Bannerghatta Road). This metro station is stated to become operational around Q4 of 2024 / March 2025.

Hulimavu is a locality in the south of Bangalore under the Bommanahalli Zone of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

The Hulimave cave temple, also known as the Hulimavu Shiva Cave Temple or simply the Cave Temple, is located in Hulimavu, Bannerghatta Road, Karnataka, very close to the BGS National Public School. The Cave Temple is administered by the Sri Sri Bala Gangadaraswami Mutt. It is stated that a saint Sri Ramanand Swamiji did tapas in the cave for many years and his samadhi is also found inside. There are three main deities consecrated inside. A Shiva Lingam occupies the center, on one side there is a Devi idol and on the other side, an idol of Ganesha has been consecrated. On the other side of the cave, a very old dhyana mantap is also found. The cave has been declared as a 2000 year old single rock cave. The temple is placed within the natural cave inside the rocks. The detailed history of the temple is however not available, but it was stated that the temple is as old as 4–5 hundred years, founded by Sri Sri Balagangadaraswami.Visitors are encouraged to learn about and go around to each of the deities inside the cave. The samadhi with the photo of the saint is also there. For unknown reasons such temples have not gained publicity even though those who know the temple visit it very often.

Hulimavu is an upcoming elevated metro station on the North-South corridor of the Pink Line of Namma Metro in Bangalore, India. This metro station serves mainlyChrist University (Bannerghatta Road), and also prime locations such as Royal Meenakshi Mall, Sri Meenakshi Sundareshwara Temple, Hulimavu Police Station and Kothanur Metro Depot, which will handle all the Pink Line Namma Metro trainsets for maintenance purposes. This metro station is stated to become operational around Q4 of 2024 / March 2025.

Arekere Lake is situated in the Arekere - Hulimavu area of the city of Bangalore. Originally spread over an area of approximately 37 acres, the lake is bounded on the west by Bannerghatta Road, on the north by BDA Eighty Feet Road, on the east by Shantinikethan Layout and on the south by Hulimavu Main Road. According to the BBMP website, the perimeter of the lake is about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi). It was possibly a manmade water reservoir created approximately 100 years ago. The lake is under the jurisdiction of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA). As is the case with many other lakes in Bangalore, in the last two decades the Arekere Lake has been encroached upon by real estate developers, and the current extent of the lake has been estimated to be only approximately 25 acres (0.10 km2). Also due to rapid urbanization of the rain catchment area of the lake and the consequent lack of seasonal water filling, by the end of the first decade of the 21st century the lake had nearly dried up. In October 2012 the lake was breached, and sewage water flowing out of the lake flooded the nearby residential areas. Following the floods, BDA prepared a detailed plan for the development of the lake at a cost of Rs.14 crore.

Akshay Nagar is a neighbourhood in Begur ward in South Bangalore. It is surrounded by Hulimavu to the west and Begur to the east. The area has undergone rapid residential and commercial development since the early 2010s, including several high-rise apartment complexes. The locality is in close proximity to the Bannerghatta National Park, thus leading to occasional sightings of wild animals from the forest reserve. The area has a lake spread over 5 acres.

Konanakunte, formerly a census town, is a suburb of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka.This area is was added to BBMP i.e. it was added to Bengaluru in 2014.This is a backward and poor area compared to the neighbouring areas such as ISRO layout and the prestigious JP nagar . There is a huge lack in basic facilities such as Cauvery water and proper roads.One thing where konankunte is good is at resale value as it is a backward area the growth percentage is quite high compared to already developed JP nagar.The MP of this area is DK Suresh(brother of DK Shivakumar,Former karnataka minister),mla for this area is M.Krishnappa , Corporator is Shashirekha Jayaram.
