Alonzo E. Horton is a statue of the American real estate developer of the same name, installed at the intersection of Third Avenue and E Street (Broadway Circle), across from San Diego's Westfield Horton Plaza, in the U.S. state of California.

The Pythias Lodge Building in San Diego, California, also known as Community Arts Complex or Intercultural Council of the Arts, is a Beaux Arts architecture building built in 1911. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

San Diego ( SAN dee-AY-goh, Spanish: [san ˈdjeɣo]; Spanish for 'Saint Didacus') is a city in the U.S. state of California on the coast of the Pacific Ocean and immediately adjacent to the Mexican border. With a 2020 population of 1,386,932, San Diego is the eighth most populous city in the United States and second most populous in California (after Los Angeles). The city is the county seat of San Diego County, the fifth most populous county in the United States, with 3,338,330 estimated residents as of 2019. The city is known for its mild year-round climate, natural deep-water harbor, extensive beaches and parks, long association with the United States Navy and Marine Corps, and recent emergence as a healthcare and biotechnology development center. Historically home to the Kumeyaay people, San Diego is frequently referred to as the "Birthplace of California", as it was the first site visited and settled by Europeans on what is now the West Coast of the United States. Upon landing in San Diego Bay in 1542, Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo claimed the area for Spain, forming the basis for the settlement of Alta California 200 years later. The Presidio and Mission San Diego de Alcalá, founded in 1769, formed the first European settlement in what is now California. In 1821, San Diego became part of the newly declared Mexican Empire, which reformed as the First Mexican Republic two years later. California became part of the United States in 1848 following the Mexican–American War and was admitted to the union as a state in 1850. San Diego's main economic engines are military and defense-related activities, tourism, international trade, research, and manufacturing. The city is the economic center of the San Diego–Tijuana conurbation, the second most populous transborder metropolitan area in the western hemisphere (after Detroit–Windsor), home to an estimated 4,922,723 people as of 2012. The primary border crossing between San Diego and Tijuana, the San Ysidro Port of Entry, is the busiest international land border crossing in the world outside of Asia (fourth-busiest overall). The city's primary airport, San Diego International Airport, is the busiest single-runway airport in the world. Since 2010, statewide droughts in California have further strained San Diego's water security.

Pete Wilson is a bronze sculpture depicting the Governor of California of the same name, installed outside San Diego's Horton Plaza, in the U.S. state of California. The statue, which cost $200,000, was dedicated in 2007. Approximately 500 people attended the ceremony.

Horton Plaza Park is an outdoor venue located in the heart of downtown San Diego, which had its grand opening on May 4, 2016. Located on the corner of 4th Avenue and Broadway, the plaza preserves the history and integrity of the original Horton Plaza, while adding key features to enhance the area. In addition to restoring the Broadway Fountain, the park includes an amphitheater for live music acts, retail Pavilions and a new, interactive fountain. The plaza was designated a historical landmark by the City of San Diego on March 19, 1971. The city-owned park was designed by landscape architect Walker Macy and built by Civic San Diego.

225 Broadway is the 41st tallest building in San Diego, California and is a prominent fixture in San Diego's skyline. The 23-story skyscraper has a height of 306 ft (93 m) and is located in the Horton Plaza district of Downtown San Diego and was home to the area NBC owned-and-operated station KNSD from 2001 until 2016, during which time it was known as the NBC Building and bore NBC signage. The skyscraper is built to the International Style.

Jessop's Clock is a large outdoor pendulum clock located in San Diego, California, United States. It was commissioned in 1905 by one of the city's noted jewelers, Joseph Jessop.

Horton Plaza, not to be confused with its adjacent namesake Horton Plaza Park, was a five-level outdoor shopping mall located in downtown San Diego. It was known for its bright colors, architectural tricks, and odd spatial rhythms. It stood on 6.5 city blocks adjacent to the city's historic Gaslamp Quarter. Opening in 1985, it was the first successful downtown retail center since the rise of suburban shopping centers decades earlier. In August 2018, the property was sold to developer Stockdale Capital Partners, which plans to convert it into an office-retail complex. Nordstrom closed in 2016, leaving a vacant anchor store, and the other major anchor, Macy's, closed in Spring 2020. The mall was demolished starting in May 2020.

The U.S. Grant Hotel is a historic and one of the oldest hotels in downtown San Diego, California operating under a franchise of Marriott International as part of their Luxury Collection brand. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is 11 stories high and has 270 guest rooms in addition to meeting rooms and multiple ballrooms.

The Panama Cafe is an historic structure located at 827 4th Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego, in the U.S. state of California. It was built in 1907.

The Exchange Club is an historic structure located at 815 4th Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego, in the U.S. state of California. It was built in 1905.
