Dozen Bake Shop was a bakery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While a variety of baked goods and other dishes were offered, cupcakes were Dozen's specialty and featured product.It was founded in late 2006 by James Gray, a graduate of Chicago Culinary Institute. The opening came amid a national cupcake trend, leading Gray to believe that the time was right to open a cupcake-heavy bakery in Pittsburgh, as he believed that the trend had already played out in New York City or Chicago. Andew Twigg was a co-owner with Gray.The bakery developed a strong brand and a social media presence, using Facebook and Twitter to alert customers of daily specials and other offers. The Twitter account became one of the most popular in Pittsburgh. Dozen Bake Shop was the official cupcake of the Pittsburgh Penguins and their cupcakes are available at the Consol Energy Center.The baking philosophy focused on using local sourcing, especially local produce and herbs.The "Elvis" was a featured item; it was a banana cupcake with chocolate hazelnut filling, topped with peanut butter buttercream icing. Baker Megan Hart came one board once the new owner, Doreen Valentine, hired her. Megan created specialty cakes and edible roses in 2012.

The Pennsylvania National Bank Building is a historic building in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is located on a prominent site facing Doughboy Square, the acute intersection of Butler Street and Penn Avenue which is often considered the "entrance to Lawrenceville". The building was constructed in 1902–03 as the new headquarters of the Pennsylvania National Bank, which had operated out of an earlier three-story building on the same site since 1893. The building was listed as a contributing property in the Lawrenceville Historic District in 2019 and a Pittsburgh historic landmark in 2020.The Pennsylvania National Bank Building is a one-story, Beaux-Arts-style building constructed from buff-colored brick with terra cotta ornaments. It was designed by the Beezer Brothers, who also designed the nearby St. John the Baptist Church which was completed the same year. The bank's footprint is trapezoidal, with the non-parallel sides defined by the streets on either side. The narrow front of the building has a single entrance bay and an arched parapet decorated with a keystone emblem. The two side elevations are both five bays wide with a combination of arched and pedimented windows; however, the Butler Street side also has an exposed basement due to the sloping topography of the site. The rear of the building has two additions, the later of which was added in 2019 by the current tenant, an architecture firm.

The Doughboy is a war memorial and neighborhood landmark in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Located at the Y-shaped intersection of Lawrenceville's two busiest commercial streets, Butler Street and Penn Avenue, the monument has become a symbol of the neighborhood and "probably the most well known veterans monument in Pittsburgh". In 2019, it was listed as a contributing property in the Lawrenceville Historic District.The Doughboy statue was sculpted by Allen George Newman and dedicated on Memorial Day in 1921. It stands in a small triangular public space in front of the Pennsylvania National Bank Building called Doughboy Square.

Lawrenceville is one of the largest neighborhood areas in Pittsburgh in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is located northeast of downtown, and like many of the city's riverfront neighborhoods, it has an industrial past. The city considers Lawrenceville three neighborhoods, Upper Lawrenceville, Central Lawrenceville, and Lower Lawrenceville, but these distinctions have little practical effect. Accordingly, Lawrenceville is almost universally treated as being a single large neighborhood.In 2019, the Lawrenceville Historic District, which encompasses the majority of the neighborhood, was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Pittsburgh Brewing Company (formerly known as Iron City Brewing Company) is a beer company headquartered in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States best known for producing brands such as Iron City Beer, I.C. Light Beer, I.C. Light Mango, Old German, and Block House Brewing. Until August 2009, all production was conducted at its Lawrenceville facility. From August 2009-2021, their products were contract brewed at City Brewing Company in the facility once produced Rolling Rock. On February 4, 2021, Iron City Beer's Instagram account announced that Pittsburgh Brewing Company would resume production of its own product in a new production brewery in Creighton, Pennsylvania, in the original Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company plant. At its opening, the facility is capable of producing 150,000 BBLs of beer annually.

St. Augustine Church is a historic Roman Catholic church in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It has remained in use as a parish church since construction, currently serving the Parish of Our Lady of the Angels, which with St. Maria Goretti forms the Bloomfield/Garfield/Lawrenceville Grouping within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The church has been operated by the Capuchin Friars since 1873 and is the headquarters of the Capuchin Province of St. Augustine. The Romanesque Revival structure was designed by John T. Comès of the firm of Rutan & Russell. Built in 1901 of yellow brick with terra cotta trim, it is cruciform in plan with two tall towers, a clerestory, and a dome. It was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1998. In 2019, it was listed as a contributing property in the Lawrenceville Historic District.

The Lawrence Public School in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was built in 1872 and served as an elementary school, including instruction in the German language. It was named after Captain James Lawrence, whose last words "Don't give up the ship!" gained famed in the War of 1812.The school was damaged by a fire in 1912, but was able to be repaired. Reportedly, a crowd of school children danced and cheered as the building burned and its 200-pound (91 kg) bell fell from its supports. It closed in 1939, along with the nearby Bayard School and Foster School, when all students were transferred to the new elementary wing of Arsenal Junior High School. The building was sold in 1945 and then used as a warehouse. The school was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The two upper floors were destroyed by a fire in 1987 and the building was truncated at the ground floor. Since 2017, it has housed a brewery, Eleventh Hour Brewing.

Herron is a station on the East Busway, located between Polish Hill and Lawrenceville, and near the Strip District, in Pittsburgh. It is accessed via nearby Herron Avenue.

The Pittsburgh Brass Manufacturing Company Building is a historic building in the Strip District neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1903 by the Pittsburgh Brass Manufacturing Company as a production facility for brass and brass goods. The four-story building housed a foundry with coke furnaces for producing raw brass along with casting, rolling, and machining equipment for manufacturing finished products. Pittsburgh Brass used the building until the 1970s, after which it was left vacant for about 40 years. In 2015, the building was renovated and converted into 14 loft apartment units.

The Arsenal Middle School (previously Arsenal Junior High School) in the Lower Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1932, with a wing for elementary students added in 1939. The school was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.It is built on the site of a United States arsenal used during the War of 1812 by William Barclay Foster, the founder of Lawrenceville and the father of musician Stephen Foster.

Arsenal Cider House and Wine Cellar is a small-batch cider manufacturer located in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh.It is located adjacent to, and named after, the historic Allegheny Arsenal. It was cited by a Canadian newspaper as an example of something that makes Pittsburgh "chic".

The Springfield Public School located in the Strip District neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1872 and closed in 1934. After closing it served as a warehouse. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
