The Banovina Palace (Croatian: Banovina, Palača Banovine) in Split, Croatia is a representative building housing the city administration (Croatian: gradska uprava). The building was completed in 1940 as the seat of the Littoral Banovina.

The 1991 protest in Split was a street protest against the Yugoslav People's Army (Jugoslovenska Narodna Armija – JNA) held in Split, Croatia on 6 May 1991. The protest was organised by the Croatian Trade Union Association in the Brodosplit Shipyard and joined in by workers from other companies in the city and other residents of Split after radio broadcast appeals for help while the protesters marched through the streets. Ultimately, the protest drew 100,000 supporters. The march ended in a picket in front of the Banovina building, where the JNA had its headquarters in Split at the time. The protesters demanded an end to the JNA-imposed blockade of the village of Kijevo. Scuffles broke out in front of the building, and a JNA soldier was killed by a gunshot reportedly fired from the crowd. Four organisers of the protest were arrested a month later by the JNA, tried in a military court and convicted. They were released months later in a prisoner exchange. The protest caused the JNA to withdraw a portion of military equipment previously based in Split to more secure locations and increase its combat readiness there. The blockade of Kijevo was lifted through negotiations days after the protest.

Ivan Meštrović Gallery (Croatian: Galerija Meštrović), is an art museum in Split, Croatia dedicated to the work of the 20th-century sculptor, Ivan Meštrović. The gallery preserves and presents to the public the most significant works of Meštrović, and is in itself an art monument. The permanent collection includes works of sculpture, drawings, design, furniture and architecture. Holdings include original plaster models by the artist, as well as finished works in bronze, marble and wood. The gallery building and grounds were based on original plans by Meštrović himself, and included living and working areas, as well as exhibition spaces.Not far from the gallery lies Kaštelet-Crikvine, a restored chapel that houses a set of wooden wall panels carved by Ivan Meštrović.

The Littoral Banovina or Littoral Banate (Croatian: Primorska banovina; Serbian: Приморска бановина / Primorska banovina), was a province (banovina) of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia between 1929 and 1939. This province consisted of much of the Croatian region of Dalmatia and parts of present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina and was named for its coastal (maritime) location. The capital city of the Littoral Banovina was Split.

Split Film Festival or Split International Festival of New Film, is one of the oldest film and video festivals in Croatia that showcases new, creative, personal, radical works of all styles, themes, genres and lengths, whether film, or new media, preferably from outside the mainstream. The festival's previous guests include Chris Marker, Jonas Mekas, Jean Marie Straub & Daniele Huillot, late Stan Brakhage, Claire Denis, Bela Tarr, Lars von Trier and Cyrus Frisch. The Festival presents screenings of selected films, videos, interactive media, installations, performances, retrospectives workshops, discussions and festival's catalogue and has featured work from director Amartya Bhattacharyya. Split Film Festival takes place every Summer in Split, Croatia. The Festival is open to all new, innovative, personal, experimental film, radical, subversive etc. work (film, video and new media) of all genres and lengths, preferably from outside the mainstream, whether it was made on a shoestring budget or is a studio release.

The Croatia Boat Show (CBS) is a boat show, held annually in the city of Split, Croatia, typically during the month of April. The exhibition is organised by Croatian business entrepreneur Vicenco Blagaić, and takes place at the City harbour of the Port of Split.

Croatian House (Croatian: Hrvatski dom) is a cultural institution in Split, Croatia. It is designated a cultural good of Croatia under the designation Z-4538.

Salon Galić is Split's oldest exhibition space, located in the heart of the town on Marmont Street 3. It was founded by Hrvace-born artisan Ivan Galić in May 1924 and was the only art gallery in Split during the interbellum. In the aforementioned period, the gallery hosted exhibitions of artists that would soon become the undisputed greats of Croatian art, including Emanuel Vidović, Angjeo Uvodić, Ivan Meštrović, Antun Motika, Branislav Dešković, the Earth Group and many others. It remains prominent and prestigious within the Croatian art scene and has since become one of Croatia's most popular and acclaimed cultural destinations, hosting over fifteen exhibitions a year and numerous other related happenings, including the Splitgraphic Biennial and the Radoslav Putar Awards. It has been managed by Croatian Association of Visual Artists since 1961, and in the six decades that followed hosted over a thousand exhibitions. In 2014, the Ministry of Culture declared Salon Galić a cultural asset by the Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Heritage. In 2024, the gallery celebrated its 100th birthday with a universally praised retrospective by Sandi Bulimbašić and Jasminka Babić.

Stari plac (lit. "Old ground"), also often referred to as Plinara Stadion, (or incorrectly in some foreign sources as Plinada Stadion) is a stadium in Split, Croatia used originally for association football and later mainly for rugby union. It hosted a match between Yugoslavia and Netherlands in the UEFA Euro 1972 qualifying tournament, and in April 2010 a match between Croatia national rugby union team playing against Netherlands in the 2008-10 European Nations Cup tournament. Stari plac is the home ground of Rugby Club Nada Split. The area the stadium was built on was originally a gasworks and was also used as a military training ground by the army. It was initially used as the home stadium of HNK Hajduk Split, and although it was their basic venue in the early years and it was not until 1926 that the first stand was built.In the beginning the 100 x 60 meters pitch was oriented west-to-east. After First World War it was resized to 105 x 70 meters on a north-to-south orientation. Its first wooden stands, built in 1926, burned down that same year. Three years later new stands were built with a capacity of 900 people, but these were gradually demolished during the Second World War. After the war the stadium received a major reconstruction with a new drainage system, and a wooden west stand for 1400 people. Ten years later the sandy pitch was replaced with grass one, and later on new stands were built on eastern side of the pitch.In November 2009 Hajduk fans watched a home game versus Dinamo Zagreb on a big screen in the Stari plac, rather than see the game in the Poljud, in a protest against actual club board.

Froggyland is a taxidermy collection and museum located in Split, Croatia. It is next to a 4th-century palace built for Diocletian, an emperor of Ancient Rome. The museum is known for its display of 21 dioramas containing 507 different taxidermy frogs posed to appear as if they are participating in human activities.
