Ballyhoura Mountains

Carron Mountain (Irish: Carn Fhearadaigh) is a mountain 440m high on the border of County Limerick and County Cork, Ireland. It is part of the Ballyhoura Mountains. Carron is home to the North Cork transmitter for the UPC MMDS service.

Ballyguyroe (Irish Baile an Ghaill Rua, Town of the Red Foreigner/Frenchman/Norman. Spellings also in use: Ballinguyroe and Ballinguiroe. Pronounced locally as "Ballinguyroo"), North and South are rural townlands of Farahy in the southern foothills of the Ballyhoura Mountains in north County Cork, Ireland. The local economy is largely agriculture and forestry.The area came into prominence as the proposed location by the Greenstar company for its planned dump - a proposal defeated by the locality at An Bord Pleanála in 2004 and 2008.

Castlepook or Castle Pook is a Norman style castle built in 1380 by the Synan family. The castle's ruin is 4 km north of Doneraile, in the foothills of the Ballyhoura Mountains in County Cork, Ireland. Castlepook is made of limestone, with a stone vaulted roof which is still intact. There was once a spiral staircase made of stone in the southwest corner. Much of the smooth stone (such as was used for the stairs and window / door frames) has been removed by vandals.

Bowen's Court was a historic country house or Anglo-Irish big house near Kildorrery in County Cork, Ireland.

Kilcolman Castle is a tower house located in County Cork, Ireland. It was formerly the residence of the poet Edmund Spenser.

Kilcolman Bog is a national nature reserve of approximately 74 acres (0.30 km2) in County Cork.

Doneraile Court is a late-17th century country house near the town of Doneraile in County Cork, Ireland. It stands in 160 hectares (400 acres) of walled parkland known as Doneraile Park or Doneraile Estate. The house remained the seat of the St Leger family from the time of construction until the mid-20th century. The park, which is managed by the Office of Public Works (OPW), is open all year with free admission. As of 2023, Donerail Park was the most visited free tourist attraction in County Cork, and the fifth most visited OPW site in the country.

Effin (Irish: Eimhín) is a townland and civil parish in County Limerick, Ireland. It is on the R515 road, midway between Kilmallock and Charleville. The population of the parish is about 1,000. Effin is partly in the barony of Coshlea, but chiefly in that of Coshma. The parish lies in the Golden Vale, Munster's rich dairyland, and intensive dairying is practised there. The Ballyhoura Mountains, which separate County Limerick from County Cork, are at the southern end of the parish.

Kilmallock railway station was a station in County Limerick, Ireland. It was on the main Dublin to Cork line, serving the small town of Kilmallock. It is around 800m south-east of the town centre. The station was built in 1849, originally by the Great Southern and Western Railway. It was closed in March 1976. Much of the original 1849 station building (on the up side of the line) still exists, but became derelict having been abandoned when the station closed in 1976. Although there have been many calls by councillors etc. to repurpose the building in some way, and although some repairs were done in the early 2020s, Limerick Council issued a derelict site notice in June 2025. As at 2025 Irish Rail have no plans to reinstate rail services at the station.

John FitzGerald Park is a GAA stadium in Kilmallock, County Limerick, Ireland. It is the home of Kilmallock GAA club and is one of the main grounds of Limerick GAA's Gaelic football and hurling teams. Part of the stand was damaged by Storm Éowyn in January 2025.

Kilmallock (Irish: Cill Mocheallóg) is a town in south County Limerick, Ireland, near the border with County Cork, 30 km south of Limerick city. There is a Dominican Priory in the town and King's Castle (or King John's Castle). The remains of medieval walls which encircled the settlement are still visible.
