In 2004 Anjali Athavalley of the Houston Chronicle stated that Lindale Park's popularity was increasing. During that year the prices of houses ranged from $83,000 to $175,000.

McCullough Park is a park located in the Independence Heights neighborhood of Houston, Texas, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was originally called Independence Park but was renamed by the city of Houston after its acquisition of Houston Heights in 1929.Its NRHP nomination states: "Independence Park is the only public space remaining from the early years of Independence Heights. In 1910, the Wright Land Company set aside some eight lots in the northeast portion of the subdivision for a community park and named it Independence Park. The park provided important community space for church gatherings, school activities, and annual Juneteenth celebrations. Although parks were often part of white neighborhoods during this period, few African American communities had such dedicated space and few larger community parks were open to blacks."Elsewhere segregation in parks "was enforced by custom first and then by local ordinance in 1922".It was listed on the National Register in 1997 as "Independence Park".

Northline Transit Center/HCC station is a station on METRORail Red Line in Houston. It is the northern terminus of the Red Line. It services the Northline Transit Center, located on the west side of the street and the Houston Community College Northline Campus. Outside of weekdays, it is the busiest station on the Red Line.

North Houston Early College High School (NHECHS) is a secondary charter school located at 8001 Fulton St. Building C in Northside Houston, Texas, United States. The school is operated by the Houston Independent School District in association with the Houston Community College System-Northeast Campus. The school is located next to the HCC Northline building of the HCC-Northeast Campus.The school used to be housed in portable buildings from 2008 to 2016. Then, in the school year starting in 2016, the school opened their doors to their new three-story building on the Houston Community College campus.

The General Mercantile Store was a building in Houston, Texas, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building was constructed in 1920 and was added to the National Register on June 4, 1997. It was delisted in August 2014.

The Ben C. and Jenetter Cyrus House, at 325 E. 25th St. in the Independence Heights neighborhood of Houston, Texas, was built around 1915, near the center of Independence Heights. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.It was described in its NRHP nomination as "typical of the housing for many of the middle-class residents of Independence Heights. Ben Cyms operated a jitney service in downtown Houston from about 1915 to the early 1920s. Jitneys provided a basic form of mass transportation in a number of major cities during this period and competed with electric streetcars. Black jitneys served a special role for the African American population as an alternative to other segregated forms of transportation. The City of Houston banned by ordinance all black owned jitneys in 1922-24 at the insistence of the Houston Electric Company, operators of the streetcar line and developing motor bus transportation." The property deemed significant in the area of Ethnic Heritage (black)."About the house: "Although modest in detailing, the house is typical of forms constructed in the city in the mid 1910s. The Cyms House served as a domestic space for the family but also a headquarters for his jitney service in Houston."

The Oscar Lindsay House, at 7415 N. Main St. in Houston, Texas, was built around 1920. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.It is a one-story bungalow house located in the middle of the Independence Heights neighborhood. It was deemed significant as "one of the most intact properties associated with an important businessman and city official of Independence Heights." Oscar Lindsay served as city plumber. He also operated a cleaning and pressing shop, a barber shop and an ice cream parlor business, with the latter in his front yard, taking advantage of its location on the busiest street. The NRHP nomination was prepared by a member of the Independence Heights Neighborhood Council.
