Capo Milazzo Lighthouse

Capo di Milazzo is a thin peninsula on the north eastern part of the island of Sicily which extends into the Tyrrhenian Sea towards the Lipari Islands. The town of Milazzo is located on the centre of the peninsula.

Milazzo (Sicilian: Milazzu; Latin: Mylae; Ancient Greek: Μύλαι, romanized: Mýlai) is a municipality (comune) in the Metropolitan City of Messina, Sicily, southern Italy; it is the largest commune in the Metropolitan City after Messina and Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto. The town has a population of around 31,500 inhabitants.

The Battle of Mylae took place in 260 BC during the First Punic War and was the first real naval battle between Carthage and the Roman Republic. This battle was key in the Roman victory of Mylae (present-day Milazzo) as well as Sicily itself. It also marked Rome's first naval triumph and also the first use of the corvus in battle.

The Basilica of St. Sebastian (Italian: Basilica di San Sebastiano, Duomo di Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto) is a church in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Sicily, Italy, raised to the status of a minor basilica in 1991.It stands in the Piazza Duomo with its main façade facing the Via Roma. It is the largest of the churches (the duomo) of Barcellona and the second-largest in the whole province of Sicily, only Messina Cathedral being larger. The present church was constructed in the 1930s, replacing an earlier one, under the direction of the engineer Franceso Barbaro (nephew of Monsignor Barbaro); the works were carried out by the firm Fratelli Cardillo, who had previously collaborated with Barbaro in the construction of the Shrine of Christ the King (Sacrario di Cristo Re) in Messina. Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto is not the seat of a bishop and the basilica is not a cathedral.

Gualtieri Sicaminò borders the following municipalities: Condrò, Pace del Mela, San Pier Niceto, Santa Lucia del Mela.

Torregrotta railway station is a railway station serving the small town of Torregrotta, in the north-east of Sicily, Italy. The station also serves nearby villages including Monforte San Giorgio, Roccavaldina and Valdina. It is located on the Palermo–Messina railway and all trains calling there are operated by Trenitalia. The current station, opened on 23 November 2009, replaces an earlier one dating from the early years of the twentieth century and closed on 9 August 2009.

Torregrotta (Sicilian: Turri) is a small town and municipality (comune) in the Metropolitan City of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 170 kilometres (110 mi) east of Palermo and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) west of Messina. It is the twelfth most populous municipality in the Metropolitan City and the most densely populated. The urban area, located at 44 m a.s.l. in the Niceto valley, it stretches between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the first Peloritani mountains. Originally built in medieval times as a farmhouse of the Santa Maria della Scala fief, it was rebuilt since 1526 after a period of neglect. At the beginning of the 19th century, it became a sub-municipality of Roccavaldina from which it obtained administrative autonomy in 1923. The sixteenth-century nucleus extended above all since the second half of the nineteenth century. Center historically linked to agriculture, origin place of sbergia, Torregrotta has lost the traditional agricultural vocation in favor of tertiary sector. Clay extraction and transformation industry had a certain impulse in the twentieth century, almost completely ending in the 2000s. Medium and small craft enterprises prevail.

Condrò borders the following municipalities: Gualtieri Sicaminò, Pace del Mela, San Pier Niceto.

Terme Vigliatore (Sicilian: Tèrmini Vigghiaturi) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 160 kilometres (99 mi) east of Palermo and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) west of Messina at the mouth of the Patrì river. Terme Vigliatore borders the following municipalities: Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Castroreale, Furnari, Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea, Rodì Milici. A Roman villa of the 1st century BC, with 53 rooms, is situated in the hamlet of Saint Biagio.

Valdina borders the following municipalities: Roccavaldina, Torregrotta, Venetico.
