Shiraz University (Persian: دانشگاه شیراز Dāneshgāh-e-Shirāz, formerly known as Pahlavi University دانشگاه پهلوی Dāneshgāh-e Pahlavi) is a public university located in Shiraz, Fars, Iran, established in 1946. Being one of the oldest and most prestigious modern universities in Iran, Shiraz University is listed among the top three research-oriented schools in the nation according to a ranking of Iranian universities based on scientific output. In the first report of state universities ranking and among almost 70 universities and higher education institutes, Shiraz University is regarded as first-level university. Shiraz University has pioneered the establishment of doctoral programs in Iran. Currently and after the separation of medical universities from universities under Ministry of Science, Research and Technology the university has over 20,000 students, with 200 bachelor's degree programs (BA, BSc), 300 master's degree programs (MA, MSc), one professional degree program (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or DVM), and 150 PhD programs.

Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS) (Persian: دانشگاه علوم پزشکی شیراز Dāneshgāh-e Olum Pezeshki-e Shirāz) is a public medical school located in Shiraz, Iran. Since its inauguration in 1946, SUMS has always been ranked among top medical schools in Iran. Currently, more than 10,000 students are studying in over 200 different disciplines within 17 schools. Iranian students are recruited to SUMS through National Entrance Exam (concours) and registered to the main campus of the university. SUMS also offers international degree and non-degree programs to international students at different levels and disciplines, including Doctor of Medicine (M.D.),Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.), Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., Specialty, Subspecialty, Fellowship, and numerous Medical Elective and short-term training programs. Moreover, SUMS is in charge of healthcare provision in public facilities, and supervising private healthcare providers throughout its appointed regions in Fars province. SUMS has 45 public hospitals (including 14 teaching hospitals), 2 community health centers in Shiraz,, and 28 health networks throughout Fars province. The University also supervises 17 private hospitals (including 3 charity hospitals) in Shiraz.

Namazi Square is one of the main squares in Shiraz, Iran. Namazi Hospital, Kharazmi Library, Motahari Clinic, Emam Reza Clinic and the engineering building of Shiraz University are located near this square.

Namazi Metro Station is a station on Shiraz Metro Line 1. The station opened on 11 October 2014. It is located on Namazi Square. This station is the southern terminus of the section that opened on 11 October 2014. Shihid Avini Station which is located north of this station opened in August 2016. The station currently has one exit on the western side of the Bus Terminal area, however currently an elevator on the same side, an exit north of the Bus Terminal area next to the square, and another one north of the square on the western side of the boulevard leading to Namazi Bridge with underground access to Motahari and Emam Reza clinics are under construction.

Namazi Hospital is a prominent hospital in Namazi Square, Shiraz, Iran. It was founded by Mohammad Namazi in 1950. Mohammad Namazi founded this hospital with 22 residential villas for physicians in 1950. It was later extended in 1975 and a polyclinic building, a six-storey parking and some affiliated buildings were constructed. The admission capacity of the hospital rose from 200 to 750 beds. The first liver transplant was performed in 1993 in Shiraz University Hospital (Namazi). The first living-related kidney transplantation performed at Shiraz University Hospital dates back to 1968. The hospital has an active oncology department publishing papers regularly.

Mohammad Namazi was the founder of Namazi Hospital, which he founded in 1955 in Shiraz, Iran. He was born in Kazerun, in 1896. He was a successful merchant who lived in the USA for many years. He died in 1973.

Shahid Avini Metro Station is a station on Shiraz Metro Line 1. The station opened on 7 August 2016. It is located on Khabarneger Street at the Junction with Avini Boulevard between Namazi Metro Station and Shahid Motahhari Metro Station. It is most commonly used by the students and faculty of the Shahid Dastgheib 1 Secondary School which is adjacent to the metro's ground-level entrance.

Paramount Crossroads (Persian: چهارراه پارامونت, Cahârrâh-e Pârâmont), also known as 15 Khordad Crossroads (Persian: چهارراه پانزده خرداد, Cahârrâh-e Pânzdah-e Xordâd), is a major intersection in a heavily traveled and central area in Shiraz, Iran. It is the junction of Enqelab-e Eslami Street, Lotfali Khan Street and Qasrodasht Street. There is a fuel station docked on the intersection and Zaytoon Shopping Center is in the immediate area. The junction is often used as an assembly point for protests.

The World Trade Center Shiraz is a mixed-use development project currently under construction in Shiraz, Iran.

Church of Simon the Zealot, is an Anglican church in Shiraz, Iran. It is located on Zand Avenue in Shiraz, next to Shiraz Christian Mission Hospital.

Shahid Motahhari Metro Station is a station on Shiraz Metro Line 1. The station opened on 10 February 2016. It is located on Zargari Junction between Afifabad Metro Station and Qasrodasht Metro Station.
