East Kill, a 16-mile-long (26 km) tributary of Schoharie Creek, flows across the town of Jewett, New York, United States, from its source on Stoppel Point. Ultimately its waters reach the Hudson River via the Mohawk. Since it drains into the Schoharie upstream of Schoharie Reservoir, it is part of the New York City water supply system. East Kill drains the southern slopes of the Blackhead Mountains, which include Thomas Cole Mountain, Black Dome, and Blackhead Mountain, the fourth-, third-, and fifth-highest peaks in the Catskills, respectively. The East Kill's 36.3-square-mile (94 km2) watershed accounts for 3.9 percent of the Schoharie basin and is located near the southern end of that creek's watershed.

Rusk Mountain is a peak located in the towns of Jewett and Lexington in Greene County, New York, United States. At 3,680 feet (1,120 m) in elevation, it is the 20th-highest peak in the Catskill Mountains and considered a member of the Catskill High Peaks. While there is no maintained trail, a bushwhack to the summit is considered relatively easy, and required for membership in the Catskill Mountain 3500 Club.

West Kill Mountain, or Westkill Mountain, is located in Greene County, New York. The mountain is named after the West Kill stream which flows along its northern side, and is part of the Devil's Path range of the Catskill Mountains. To the east, West Kill Mountain faces Southwest Hunter Mountain across 800-foot-deep (240 m) Diamond Notch; to the west, West Kill faces North Dome across Mink Hollow. West Kill Mountain stands within the watershed of the Hudson River, which drains into New York Bay. The north slopes drain into the West Kill, thence into Schoharie Creek, the Mohawk River, and the Hudson River. The southeast slopes of the mountain drain into Hollow Tree Brook, thence into Stony Clove Creek, Esopus Creek, and the Hudson River. The southwest slopes of West Kill Mountain drain into the Broadstreet Hollow stream, thence into Esopus Creek. West Kill Mountain is contained within the Westkill Mountain Wilderness Area of New York's Catskill State Park.

Diamond Notch Falls is a waterfall located on the West Kill, east of Spruceton in the Hunter-West Kill Wilderness in Greene County, New York. Diamond Notch Falls is a side by side waterfall, both being about 15 feet (4.6 m) in height. The Diamond Notch Trail passes Diamond Notch Falls. The trail begins at Spruceton Road and travels south through Diamond Notch, and descends down to connect with Diamond Notch Road, north of Lanesville. At 1 mile from Sprucetown Road, the trail passes Diamond Notch Falls and then the intersection with the Devil's Path. Then at 2.2 miles, the trail passes the Diamond Notch wind gap.
