Meikle Ferry railway station

The Ardjachie Stone is an uncut but decorated red sandstone boulder discovered by farmers in 1960 on the Ardjachie Farm in the Tarbat peninsula of Easter Ross. It now stands outside of the museum of Tain. On it are depicted several dozen cup or ring marks probably dating to the Bronze Age. It also has an inverted-L design with a wheel image above, both of probable Pictish origin. It therefore may be considered a Class I Pictish stone.

The Dornoch Firth Bridge is a road bridge over the Dornoch Firth, carrying traffic between Tain and Dornoch.

Glenmorangie distillery (pronounced with the stress on the second syllable: ; the toponym is believed to derive from either Gaelic Gleann Mòr na Sìth "vale of tranquillity" or Gleann Mór-innse "vale of big meadows") is a distillery in Tain, Ross-shire, Scotland, that produces single malt Scotch whisky. The distillery is owned by The Glenmorangie Company Ltd (a subsidiary of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), whose main product is the range of Glenmorangie single malt whisky. Glenmorangie is categorised as a Highland distillery and boasts the tallest stills in Scotland. It is available in Original, 18-, and 25-year-old bottlings, special cask bottlings, cask finishes, extra matured bottlings, and a range of special edition bottlings.

The River Evelix (Scottish Gaelic: Èibhleag) is a river in Sutherland, Scotland. It draws water from some 30 square miles (78 km2) of rugged moorland and farmland. To its south is the Kyle of Sutherland and to its west the River Shin. It passes through farmland, the village of Evelix, and the estuary of Loch Evelix. It enters the sea at Meikle Ferry on the Dornoch Firth, just west of the north end of the Dornoch Bridge.

The Meikle Ferry took passengers across the tidal Dornoch Firth in North Scotland. On 16 August 1809, in clear weather conditions, the overloaded ferry capsized and ninety-nine people died. The disaster prompted the building of a bridge upriver at Bonar Bridge.

Lonemore (Scottish Gaelic: An Lòn Mòr) is a village on the north shore of the Dornoch Firth in Sutherland, Scottish Highlands and is in the Scottish council area of Highland.Lonemore lies on the road leading to Dornoch from the Meikle Ferry. To its immediate north lies Cyderhall or Sidera, whose name may be a corruption of "Sigurd's Howe", as the reputed burial place of the Viking leader Sigurd Eysteinsson whose death about 875 CE is recounted in the Orkneyinga saga. Skibo Castle is located 0.5 miles to the northwest. In a 1783 map of Lonemore drawn up by David Aiken, the lands were divided west to east between the Skibo estate, Sir George Munro of Poyntzfield, and the Countess of Sutherland.

Skibo Castle (Scottish Gaelic: Caisteal Sgìobail) is located to the west of Dornoch in the Highland county of Sutherland, Scotland overlooking the Dornoch Firth. Although largely of the 19th century and early 20th century, when it was the home of industrialist Andrew Carnegie, its origins go back much earlier. Andrew Chirnside was a previous owner. It is now operated as The Carnegie Club, a members-only residential club, offering members and their guests accommodation in both the castle and estate lodges, a private links golf course and a range of activities including clay pigeon shooting, tennis and horse riding.

St. Duthus Football Club (also referred to as Tain St. Duthus Football Club) is a senior Scottish football club playing in the North Caledonian Football League based at Grant Park (by the Links) in the town of Tain in the Scottish Highlands.

Pulrossie is a farm in Sutherland, in the Highland council area of Scotland. It is situated on the northern shore of the Kyle of Sutherland, 8 km west of Dornoch. Skibo Castle is 1.5 km to the north-east, while Meikle Ferry is 1.5 km south-east.

Tain (Scottish Gaelic: Baile Dhubhthaich [palə ˈɣuhɪç]) is a royal burgh and parish in the County of Ross, in the Highlands of Scotland.

Tain Royal Academy is a secondary school in Highland, Scotland. The school first opened in 1813, with a new building opened in 1969 and an educational campus currently being built, due to open in 2018. Tain Royal Academy is part of the Golspie, Invergordon & Tain associated school group, consisting of Golspie High School, Invergordon Academy and Tain. As of January 2017 it has a school roll of 590 pupils.

Tain Tolbooth is a municipal building in the High Street, Tain, Highland, Scotland. The structure, which is used as a courthouse, is a Category A listed building.
